Dining with Dogs in Metro Phoenix AZ May 2017

“I’m off to Humble Pie Near Glendale AZ

Dining with dogs is just a “Fluff” story about taking my dogs out to eat. We usually go to very casual places that aren’t too far away from home. There are some rules to dine with dogs. Dogs are to be kept near your side. Dogs are not to sit on restaurant furniture and dogs are not to eat off restaurant plates. It’s usually a good idea to dine with dogs on off times to avoid diners that don’t want to eat with dogs. In Metro Phoenix most restaurants do have patios but NOT ALL patios are dog friendly. It’s recommended to call a restaurant first before you dine there with your furry friend because on occasion dog friendly patios sometimes turn non-dog friendly and sometimes the patio might be already booked for a party.

This week we have unseasonably hot temperatures in Phoenix so we needed to dine as early as possible to avoid the screaming high temperatures. We decided to dine at Humble Pie. They have a covered patio with fans and it’s quite comfortable. The pizzas are thin and sort of crisp the cheese is hand pulled. Humble Pie also offers one of the best Lunch Deals in Town. Choice one of several salads and a generous lunch size pizza for just under $10.00. You get BOTH a NICE Salad and a PIZZA for only $10.00!

“Ummmmm what am I getting here”

We both got lunch specials and we started with a chopped salad and a gorgonzola and strawberry salad. The both salads are very good. At many places in Scottsdale these salads alone would cost more than what we are paying for that includes a good pizza.

“The Strawberries taste sweet and fresh farm picked and not like those cardboard strawberries from the supermarket.”

Soon our pizzas arrive.

Crust is thin with a nice crisp. The sauce is concentrated and sweet. The hand pulled cheese is melty and milky and the fresh basil is the perfect accent.

“I did alright at Humble Pie!.”

“I’m off to Pita Kitchen in Glendale AZ”

“My folks and me like the salads from Pita Kitchen” Pita Kitchen is a small casual Greek Style Restaurant.”

“I got to try Chicken and Gyro.”

“All was tasty to me.” “I did alright and it was great getting away from that Forking little runt that now lives in my house.” “I think I hate him.” I wish my old man was still here…..as he was perfect.” “I loved him.”…..”even if he didn’t show love back to me he still was perfect and a perfect gentleman at all times……I really miss him.”

This is the one that she called a “runt.”……….”Not ready for the Dining with Dogs team yet.”

“I’m off to Oscar’s Pier 83 in Glendale AZ” “Woo hoo without the Forking Runt.”

Oscar’s Pier 83 serves up a variety of fried fish and some other items. Today I went with the Ahi Tuna Salad. They gave me a large tomato, hard boiled eggs, crisp romaine a few other veggies and a generous portion of Ahi Tuna.

My husband had the Battered Cod Platter.

“It’s not fancy food but I enjoyed everything my folks would let me eat.”

www.OP83.com

“I’m on my way to Leo’s Island BBQ in Peoria AZ.” “Again without the Forking runt…WOO…HOO!”

Leo’s Island BBQ specializes in the Hawaiian Plate Lunch. The typical Hawaiian Plate Lunch is lots of meat, a double serving of rice and creamy macaroni salad served in a styrofoam container. They offer around 30 choices and pricing runs on average less than $10.00.

I had a non-typical order today and got the BBQ Chicken Salad.

It isn’t fancy but does contain lots of chicken for sharing. It’s really only fast food priced and far better than what I’d get from a fast food joint.

My husband got the BBQ Pork and Chicken Lunch Plate.

“Whoa, lots of meat here…I’m not leaving hungry.”

www.LeosIslandBBQ.com

Hopefully our newest arrival will be able to join the Dining with Dogs Team Soon.

He’s just now learning how to ride in the car.

“Don’t worry folks I got this down.”  “I’ll be Forking Dining with Dogs in no Time!” “I’ll be Forking dining out next week!” “I had this down a month ago but nobody knew yet!”

That was Dining with Dogs in May 2017. We hope to see you next month!

My Trip to Virtu Honest Craft Restaurant in Scottsdale AZ

Virtu Honest Craft is a very small restaurant located in old town Scottsdale AZ. This restaurant has won and also was nominated for many awards. The menu they serve is considered contemporary European with an Italian Slant. You will be seated on the patio unless you have specified otherwise in your reservation.

We were seated on the patio and were slightly uncomfortable in the 93 degree F heat. Our table was very wobbly but our waiter was able to fix it.

We started with cocktails that were very detailed and contained ingredients I never heard of. Very interesting cocktails that also were delicious.

Our appetizers were a Salad of beeted cheve sformato, micro greens, citrus hazelnuts and Sicilian Rope sausage with garlic potatoes, peppers, onions and charred salsa.

My salad was fine and was greens and citrus over a disk of goat cheese whipped with beets…The Salad was great but I thought it needed a crouton or a slice of bread to spread the cheese on to. My husband enjoyed the sausage.

For dinner I tried the Big Eye Tuna with Sun-chokes.

The tuna is prepared reasonably well and rest above fried sun-chokes in a very sweet sauce and it topped with some thinly sliced fried sun-chokes. The sauce was suppose to be an agro dolce sauce….(a sweet and sour sauce) but the sauce lacked sour and mostly lacked the rosemary that was in the description. (I think one stray leaf made it to the plate) To be honest the sauce  was cloyingly sweet to me ..(and I am a BIG FAN of sweets but this is too sweet)..I started to wonder if it was me……..so I asked my husband to try the sun-chokes. He tried a forkful and said he wouldn’t be able to eat them either. I should have asked the waiter to bring me a lemon to fix the sun-chokes. Oh well now I have more room for dessert!

My husband had the Lamb Shank with Melguez Borlotti Beans, Pine Nuts and Mint.

He said the Lamb was prepared well and he liked the taste of the beans.

For dessert we had the Peaches and Cream Olive Oil Cake.

It came as broken cake in a glass with syrupy peaches and loose cream. It didn’t seem the least bit sweet after the sun-chokes.

This dinner didn’t hit it out of the park for me. Shame because the last time was awesome….actually better than awesome…more like life changing….

Had this last time all this dishes were very complex crafted with unique ingredients and artfully composed all genius dishes. Better than awesome….life changing.

That SHOWS you that EVERYTHING is subject to change and YOUR experience may or may not differ.

Brunch at Rodeo Grill in Mesa AZ is SMOKING HOT for Restaurant Week

Spring Restaurant Week this year (2017) is May 19th-28th. Around 130 restaurants are participating and some are offering some amazing deals to lure you in. One of the most smoking hottest deals is the Brunch Deal offered by the Brazilian Steak House Rodizio Grill in Mesa AZ. For Restaurant Week Brunch they are offing a complimentary cocktail, the full Rodizio experience and an extra complimentary dessert. The restaurant week offer cost $44.00 a couple ($22.00@) and I am guesstimating the value to run around $80.00 so we went for it!

I must say all the help from the gauchos (meat servers) to the hostess, various servers and management were all very friendly, cheerful and helpful.

They started us off with our restaurant week complimentary cocktails of limeade and a passionfruit martini, Brazilian cheese bread and these super yummy cinnamon glazed bananas.

Then we hit the 30 item hot and cold buffet that features some Brazilian side dishes and salads.

SO MUCH STUFF>>>>>It was so hard to decide on what to try.

Not all but some of the stuff I saw was Brazilian Bean Stew, Collards with Bacon, Hot Brazilian Pasta, Whipped Potatoes, Fried Potatoes, Eggs, Chicken Stroganoff, Fruit Salad, Quinoa Salad, Coconut Cole Slaw, Hearts of Palm, Steamed Asparagus, Buffalo Chicken Salad, Some Cheeses, Some sort of Hot Brisket Dish, a condiment station with Chimichurro Sauce, Brazilian tiny tear drop shaped mild peppers and MUCH MORE. I made myself a plate of some salads and vegetables.

Then we have a wooden cubes on the table and we turn it to the green side so the meat gauchos know they can come to the table to serve us.

Top Sirloin….

I think this one was the Hot and Sweet Chicken? Well anyway the hot and Sweet Chicken was my favorite….So Juicy and tasty. All the meats were succulent tasty and juicy. The Hot and Sweet Chicken was just delicious…tang, heat and not too much sweet.

Brazilian Sausage

Other meats that were offered were Tried Tip, Herbed Chicken, Bacon wrapped chicken, Chicken Hearts, Pork Parmesan wrapped in Bacon, Lean Ham and also Glazed Pineapple.

EVERYTHING THEY SERVED US WAS GREAT! All tasty, all juicy and succulent.

We asked for the check and they wouldn’t let us leave without serving us dessert!

This Brunch for Arizona Restaurant Week is Smoking Hot at Rodizio Grill and even at regular price it’s still a great deal that you might not know about.

The Rodizio Grill sure knocked it out of the park and went heads and heels above and beyond  what they had to offer.

Huauchinango’s Mexican Food in Mesa AZ is Worth a Fork

Huauchinango’s Mexican Food Restaurant is located in Mesa AZ. This isn’t a fancy place and might be considered a little worn. The menu is in Spanish with some English but don’t worry because the family working there can answer questions you might have about the menu. Here the cuisine is authentic Mexican Puebla Food.

You might be wondering what is Puebla Food?

I can tell you that I don’t really know what Puebla Food really is but I can tell you I saw Huachitlacoyos, Chalupas, Tiacoyoes and Molotes on the menu and I believe that they all are made of corn or masa flour and are fried into a different various shapes that are stuffed or topped with fillings.

Dining Room

They started us off with complimentary chips and tomatillo salsa.

My meal came with chicken based and tomato laced soup with added pasta.

I gave my soup to my husband so I’d have room for my meal. He said the soup was very good and our server suggest adding lime and some salsa so he did.

For my meal I tried what is called Pollo en Chittepin con Cachuate. It means Spicy Chicken with Peanuts.

I received a Chicken Thigh and a Leg that were “fall off the bone” and “Melt in Your Mouth Tender.”  The sauce tasted so yummy and sort of like like peanut butter, other spices and was embellished with some really spicy peppers but not too much or too many…The peppers tickled my mouth in a fun way. The sauce was slightly oily but very tasty. The sauce also contained pieces of peanuts.  It was a treat dipping the tender chicken in the tasty sauce. This plate also came with lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, seasoned rice, beans and maybe the best home made tortillas I ever had. They were sort of on the fluffy side and really hugged whatever you put in them.

My husband had the Potato and Chorizo (4) Molotes with ($3) added Steak. (I didn’t think either photo really showed what was on the plate but with the two photos you can see how it was)

He received  Masa Tortillas stuffed with Potato and Chorizo topped with lettuce and shredded cheese. Steak wasn’t the most tender but it was tasty. (but what do you want for only $3.00) My husband said it was all delicious together. He wants to come back to try other things. I want to return to try the Spicy Peanut Chicken again!

A pretty amazing value that’s certainly Worth a Fork!

Not big on atmosphere and lacks a restroom but Authentic Style Puebla food that saves you BIG BUCKs on airfare and a Hotel in Puebla Mexico.

The Forking Truth is that EVERYTHING is subject to change and your experience may or may not differ.

No website but you can find Huauchinango’s Mexican Food on Facebook.

FOODstock Food Truck Event at Peoria AZ Sports Complex 2017

Over 70 Food Trucks took over the ball park and field at P83 Peoria Sports Complex as an all day event Saturday March 6th 2017. Tickets were $5.00 each and the proceeds went to charity to benefit the hungry. Besides food and some beverages from food trucks full bars were set up. Food trucks were forbidden to sell water and soda but could be purchased from Peoria Sports Complex at a few locations. Children got free entrance and had could enjoy the splash pad.

$2-$4. food samples were promised and I did notice a few but not many.

So many food trucks….WTFork should I try? I did notice a large percentage of the trucks were selling Grilled Cheese Sandwiches.  WTFork should I try????????

I decide to start with Hibachibot Korean BBQ.

We share the Taco Trio of Gogi Steak, Gogi Chicken and Dad’s Famous.

The tacos were on the small size. Bigger than street size but smaller than regular tacos. The best of the three tacos was the Steak Gogi. The steak was on the dry side and crispy but I did taste that it was marinated…it did have some flavor and was nestled in a slaw topped with Sriracha Mayonnaise. It didn’t remind me of Korean Food………. I’m not sure what the little tub of red sauce was suppose to be. It tasted like canned tomatoes that were sweet. The chicken and ground beef were dry and bland. We were disappointed with our first stop.

Next we shared a sample of Fried Chicken on a Waffle with (I think it was) Hibiscus Honey from the food truck called Chicken and Waffles for the People.

The Waffle was BIG and FLUFFY and the chicken was tasty but a little chewy from being over done. Still tasty…..

My husband can eat more than me and tried a few extra sample items.

From Costantino’s Italian Kitchen he tried the Meatball and Pasta sample.

This wasn’t to my husband’s liking…Cheese tasted like from a cardboard container. Sauce tasted like from a jar and he just shook his head from side to side when I asked him about the meatball…. I do note he grow up eating American Italian Food so he has high expectations on this sort of food.

My husband thought the best thing he ate was from Q UP Barbecue Food Truck.

My Husband enjoyed the Gangster Grilled Cheese Sandwich Sample. It was packed with Pulled Pork, Beef Brisket, Bacon Mac-N-Cheese, BBQ Sauce and Cheesy Goodness.

Our next to the last stop was The Cleveland Corned Beef Company.

We shared the Buckeye Roll Samples and asked for two Corned Beef and One Steak Roll.

Wow….I do apologies…I can’t sugar coat what I’m about to say……but I have to be honest because this is the FORKING TRUTH>>>>>>>>>>.This was the worst thing I stuck in my mouth this year. The rolls were soggy and very greasy.

Close up of Corned Beef Wild Buckeye Roll

Not just greasy….but like old tasting sour grease. They topped the grease death bombs with dry shreds of plastic like cheese that was easy to scrape off. The inside of the one I tried might have been corned beef at one time…..GOD these were awful. I’m feeling sick now…..

My husband ate a steak one and tried to eat another one that was suppose to be corned beef.

It was unidentifiable……My husband was brave taking a bite. The rest went in the trash.

I needed something that was good and noticed The Mighty Moo Food Truck.  I’ve been to their Brick and Mortar Location so I knew I’d enjoy whatever I tried there.

I tried their Donut stuffed with their Home Made Coconut Ice Cream topped with Toasted Coconut.

The only absolutely Delicious Thing I tried all day. It was a sweet ending I needed to end a sour day.

All said and done it was $58.00 for unhealthy food that made me feel sick.

I do note I only tried a small portion of food that was available for purchase and it was my bad luck that I didn’t make the best choices for me. I couldn’t try everything and even if I had more stomach room this event was getting very costly.

I wouldn’t say to skip future FOODstock or Food Truck events and I’m only talking about my experience. I also blame myself for not doing research on the Food Trucks before trying the ones I tried out.

My Trip to the 613 Grill in Phoenix AZ

The 613 Grill is a small kosher restaurant that serves a very limited menu of mediterranean food and hamburgers. The number 613 is very meaningful in Judaism. There are 613 commandments in the Torah. 613 means excellence. This little restaurant has big shoes to fill with such a name.

This isn’t a fancy place but it seems neat and clean. (look at the light fixtures…pretty cool!)

I was hoping to try the Moroccan Cigars…( a seasoned filled pastry that looks like a cigar)……..but they have been popular and they were all sold out so I tried something else I never had before……The Fire Poppers. They were a little different than what I was expecting them to be.

The Fire Poppers were white meat chicken that seemed fried in a mostly sweet sauce with hardly any heat.  On the side is an herbed mayonnaise based sauce.

We also shared the Falafels with humus and fresh hot pita bread.

The falafels have a soft meatball texture. They weren’t the most herby but they were full of good flavors. The Pita was hot and fresh made. We both liked the pita bread and it seemed to have a little chew to it.

We were torn between the Chicken kabob and the pastrami burger….Our server strongly suggested going with the Pastrami Burger so we did.

The kosher beef does have a better beef taste than non kosher beef but this burger as you can see has room for improvement.

Hopefully this newly opened restaurant will offer the Moroccan Cigars again.

The website is unfinished at this time but you can contact them at  www.613Grill.com

Haldi Indian Cuisine Phoenix AZ – Worth a Fork

Haldi Indian Cuisine is located in North Phoenix. By day they are an all you can eat buffet and for dinner they offer an extensive menu of North and South Indian Cuisine. On their website they say they specialize in all kinds of Biryanis and Tandoor Items.

The dining room is casual but soon after I took this picture was completely filled with people.

This restaurant has only been open a few weeks but already has a great following and I can see why.

They give every table a picture of ice water.

Fresh made potato stuffed dosas with sauces. (a sort of crepe)

Fresh made hot buttery naan bread.

Then your off to the buffet. (at the time of this review the weekend price is $13.99…of course subject to change)

Here are photos of most of the offerings.

We were both surprised on how tasty and delicious everything was. (that is very unusual for a buffet as things are usually old, dried out and too salty or oily) Even the dishes that contained meat for flavorful and moist. Nothing ran too spicy…even my husband said that this was one of the best buffets he has ever been too!

The Buffet from Haldi Indian Cuisine is certainly Worth a Fork!

Dining with Dogs in Metro Phoenix AZ April 2017

“I’m off to Tru Burger in Peoria AZ”

Dining with Dogs is just a “Fluff” Storyand not a full blown restaurant review that’s about taking my dogs out to eat. Most restaurant in Metro Phoenix do have patios but not all restaurant patios are dog friendly. It’s always best to call a restaurant the day of your visit and and ask if its ok to bring your furry friend to dine there. It is also suggested to dine at off times to avoid a bigger crowd of people that might include people with allergies or dog haters. There are some rules to live by with dining with dogs. Dogs are to stay close to you. Dogs are NOT to sit on restaurant furniture. Dogs are also not to eat off of restaurant plates. It’s important that you are aware of the dog friendly food list. Basically most foods you eat are not healthy or possibly TOXIC to your dog. Your usually safe feeding your dog sauce free plain piece of meat. You know that’s what your dog wants anyway….a few of the foods to avoid are anything related to a grape, onions, garlic, chocolate, avocado (some veterinarians do disagree with avocado) bread, alcohol and more.

We went to Tru Burger in Peoria AZ. This is a casual Build your own burger place and more. You have your choice of style of burger, type of patty, sauces, toppings and side.

Tru Burger is very DOG FRIENDLY and even has a special gate on the patio just for people with dogs. The patio is nice and comfortable with a relaxing blue color scheme.

We started with an appetizer of Green Bean Fries.

“Oh I Forking Like Green Beans when they are fried!”

The Green Beans were sort of addicting but very substantial and came with a mild but tasty creamy wasabi sauce.

I had the Lettuce Wrapped Salmon “Burger” with guacamole, tomato, onion, Habanero sauce (on the side) and Onion Rings.

Salmon is seasoned nicely and is juicy. I’m able to cut off a good slice without avocado for my furry friend.

“I LOVE when restaurants serve me my own water…but I love eating better.”

Onion rings are really tasty and that habanero sauce is REALLY HOT but tasty!

My husband had the Grass Fed Green Chili Burger with Fries. It’s a really big burger! Our waitress said it was a half pound patty! My husband said the burger was a good tasting burger and the chili was also a good tasting one.

I’m on my way to Banh Mi Bistro Vietnamese Eatery in Phoenix AZ

Banh Mi Bistro Vietnamese Eatery specializes in the Vietnamese Baguette Sandwich called the Banh Mi. This Vietnamese Restaurant is Pho Free. You can’t get a bowl of Pho here. They now offer around eleven varieties and also offer various appetizers, salads, noodle bowls, rice plates and more!

I decided to try a new menu item. The Chicken Curry with my choice of rice or bread. I’ve had Chicken curry from other Asian Restaurants but only one time before from a Vietnamese Restaurant. At B.M.B.V.E. I got a generous portion of tender tasty chicken with fresh carrots and potatoes. The sauce is light, thin and very fragrant with lemongrass. I like the lighter more fragrant sauce.

Our furry friend got to try some of my husband’s Shaking Beef from his Banh Mi Sandwich.

“Everything I tried from Banh Mi Bistro Vietnamese Eatery was so delicious!” ” Both the chicken and Steak were so tender and flavorful. I’m a big fan of both!” ” I do well every time I visit!”

“I’m off to Salad and Go in Phoenix AZ”

Salad and Go is a Drive Threw Eatery with several locations in Metro Phoenix AZ. They serve about a dozen varieties of gourmet salads, breakfast, wraps, smoothies and child’s meals. Salad and Go is very Dog Friendly and Dog Patrons are served complimentary Dog Biscuits.

Today I went with a Southwest Style Caesar Salad.

I got a big bowl of fresh crisp romaine, garbanzo beans, tortilla strips, added flavorful tender chicken that was tossed in a poblano pepper dressing.

My husband got a seasonal special salad with seasonal Chicken Corn Chowder Soup.

Someone thought the Italian Salad gave off an appetizing aroma.

“I’m a big fan of Salad and Go!”

We are proud to announce a new member that we hope to be a part of the Dining with Dogs team.

A Revisit to Mora Italian Restaurant in Phoenix AZ

My view of the patio at Mora Italian Restaurant

We enjoyed the food very much on our last visit to Mora Italian Restaurant so we decided to try Mora again. This is newly opened restaurant co-owned by Celebrity Chef Scott Conant. The atmosphere is hip, interesting, rich, masculine and energetic. The menu is creative Italian style.

This time we started with Ricotta Fritters.

The fritters were filled with fresh milky cheesy goodness. It was like hitting treasure when I tasted little hidden delicate pops of lemon and chili. The crust was thin but sturdy and seemed oil free. Not too sweet honey peperonata and shredded cheese garnished the tasty fritters.

This time we shared the Fettuccine with mushrooms, roasted garlic and escarole.

1/2 portion of fettuccine

Not too much and just enough perfectly cooked pasta in the perfect amount of sauce. The mushrooms and escarole went really well together in this dish.

For dinner I tried the Chicken in Potacchio. (Chicken and Fennel with Slow Cooked Tomatoes)

The 1/2 Chicken was expertly prepared and melt in your mouth tender and sat in a pan sauce. I enjoyed the chicken but what blew me away was the fennel. I never tasted fennel that was that good before….What kind of magic cookery did they do? The fennel had this amazing texture and flavor.

My husband order the Grilled Scaloppine of Beef Short Rib again.

It had a slightly different presentation and preparation from last visit. (see photo below)

I don’t know if the recipe was changed or if each chef puts his or her own spin on things? Both were good but one was awesome.

I planned ahead to save room for dessert to try the Apple Crostata.

The dessert was decadent and delicious and sat in a pool of creamy caramel mascarpone cheese. The crust was flavorful and was filled with seasoned apples, ribbons of not too sweet caramel and a scoop of toasted almond gelato. It was a perfect ending to a nice meal.

Most Memorable Food out in Metro Phoenix AZ so far this Year from January – April 2017

Memorable food stays in your mind. It’s either something you want to revisit or something you wish you’ve never tried. The foods I tried listed are in no particular order. Here is the Fofo Vegetarian Sandwich I had at Lamp Cafe in Scottsdale AZ. It was especially delicious. It was an explosion of flavors between spicy pickled vegetables, provolone cheese, arugula and zucchini cakes you’d never imagine such a satisfying  and delicious sandwich.

6in Plain Stuffed Deep Dish from Giordano’s in Peoria AZ

The Giordano’s Plain 6in. Deep Dish Pizza was memorable. It was massive amounts of molten cheese in a very hard dried out burnt crust.

I must note that the owner of Giordano’s contacted me and said I would not have the same experience if I came back and ordered a larger size pizza…………

There was this hot smoked salmon from the Salty Sow in Phoenix AZ that was life changing. It was so silky and scrumptious. It melted in the mouth. It’s worthy of some kind of award.

Everything I tried at tried at Mora Italian in Scottsdale were amazing but the Boneless Sea Bream and the amazing Cheese Gnudi were over the top! The fish reminded me of the best fish I had at a pricy restaurant in Las Vegas and the Gnudi was dressed with concentrated tomatoes and were so delicate. You just have to try them to know. This was really high end and quality.

I’m usually not a fan of chicken wings but the chicken wings I tried from Great Wall in Phoenix were especially crispy and delicious.

Large Bowl in the middle is Spicy Chicken on Bone with Vine Peppers

Mius Bistro in Mesa AZ served me the spiciest most mouth numbing thing I tried in a long time. It had a unique good developed flavor but was very difficult to enjoy with fragments of chicken bones and skin all threw the dish. I do note that this is a method of Asian Cookery and other people are accustomed to enjoy this style of dish.

I got this from the Spotted Donkey Cantina in Scottsdale. I’m done talking about it but I’ll tell you that it was memorable.

The Saffron Chicken Bowl with Stone Bread from Saffron Jak in Phoenix was extremely delicious! I’ve had a similar plate from other restaurants but the tahini surprise under the chicken made it extra tasty and where else are you going to find stone bread….

Trofie with Pesto from Bottega Pizzeria Ristorante in Glendale was stunning. Really REALLY perfect pasta.

Doughbird a Pizza and Rotisserie Chicken Restaurant recently opened in Phoenix. The chicken was good, all the food was good but it is that Buffalo Sauce I used on the chicken that makes me want to return. Lip smacking and drool worthy. Like crack for the mouth.

It’s a little too soon to know for sure but I think I’m going to remember the Corned Beef and Cabbage Pierogi from the Twisted Italian in Peoria for a while. They were a yummy delight!

That’s what was most memorable to me this year so far.
