One of the best of the week was the Norwegian Salmon from Alchemist Bar and Restaurant. One of only a few restaurants in Las Vegas that masterfully prepares salmon with a crispy skin that STAYS Crispy. The flavors were also magical and the center of the fish was a nice medium.

The Fried Pizza from Good Pie was also FORKING Amazing. It’s so different and unlike any other pizza out there.

Everything there is amazing. Delicious fresh tomato sauce, creamy buratta cheese, fresh basil, parm, and this incredible light as feather crust……YOU NEED TO TASTE IT FOR YOURSELF. It seems so light and SO RIGHT!.

Worst of the week –

The pani puri from Hummus Club.

Menu reads savory mix of spiced potatoes, chick peas, and onions –

This is what they gave me.

No potatoes, No Chick peas. Instead corn, tomatoes, cabbage, peppers, lettuce. EVERYONE knows pani puri are always Potatoes and Chickpeas.

Las Week we planned to try A Taste of Africa’s. Since it was Memorial Weekend I called to make sure they were open. We came about 20 minutes after they were suppose to be open. The man coming out the door said they might be open sometime in the next hour….To us it sounded like he wasn’t even sure if they’d be open at 12:00 so we left and went someplace else.

Best meals out this week came from Rang’s Cocina Moderne.

This time we shared a Caesar Salad and for my main I had the Chilean Sea Bass and my husband had the slow roasted beef cheek.

I think the most disappointing meal ut this week was from Spicy Hero Sichuan Cuisine because most of the dishes were oily and lacked heat. Who wants mild oily food with rubbery chicken skin, lots of bones, and lots of bone fragments to choke on? (answer) NOBODY!!!!

Had a HK burger from Marche Bacchus.

It was really odd. Supposedly it’s ground in house or so I was told by the server. It has almost no beef flavor and the bun tastes burnt.

We went to the Great American Foodie Fest this week but my best taste of the week was a chicken sandwich that came from a food truck that was at the Henderson Art Festival called Good Hood.

It was just a really GREAT Juicy delicious sandwich packed with layers of flavors. Actually this was my husband’s sandwich and I only had a bite but it was amazing.

The food I tried at the Great American Foodie Fest wasn’t bad but it didn’t blow me away. (keep in mind that I wasn’t able to try much there because portions were full size so we got done fast)

The SLOPPIEST Burger that I ever had in all my life was the Burger with grilled onions and brava sauce from Brasserie By Edo. This burger even cooked passed my medium request was very juicy and also falling apart. The bun sort of disintegrated and couldn’t hold up to all that sauce, onions, and juicy burger. It was impossible to even pick up just half of it to eat. You had to eat it with a knife and fork. Also watch out for the ketchup vinaigrette. It turns burning HOT and becomes impossible to eat too.

I did get to taste a pizza like no other that I ever had from Heavenly Pies and Trattoria.

It’s thin, with crisp layers sort of like a cracker.

It’s topped with a rich sauce and quality cheese and the right amount of seasoning.

The most exciting meal out was from ai Pazzi with celebrity chef Fabio Viviani. We enjoyed a multi course tasting menu with wine.

We always get very good food and service from Rang’s Cocina Moderne. They offer Spanish, Italian, mixed with a little Filipino Cuisine. The food and service is always perfect and delicious. This is the most reliable restaurant that I’ve ever been too. This time between us we had the crab cake, potato with salted cod croquettes, fish Florentine, and the slow roasted tender beef cheek.

My local Smith’s Grocery Store always has something annoying. Last week I saw several spills. This week I see the usual mess everywhere.

Then they sent me a coupon for a free 5lb bag of russet potatoes but of course didn’t have any.

It’s normal to see a spill at my local Smith’s Grocery Store but this spill is different and looks a lot like Mr. Bill. …….BUT….Don’t think it’s normal to come back a few days latter and see three more spills?

Instead of just mopping it up they laid out little orange pads and took the time to put up a cation sign.

Then I see a spill of flour.

Then I see another spill. Again instead of mopping it up they just put a caution sign up.

Last week I saw dead basil plants for sale there.

In other FOOD News-

Food out this week was all very good.

Had a nice dinner at Pho Aimie. It’s our local Vietnamese Restaurant. So far it has always been good. Below are pictures from several visits.

Just discovered a local food truck – Tres Tacos Birria De Res that parks near my local Smith’s Grocery Store. They make tasty well packed double shelled street tacos and other things. So far we’ve only tried the street tacos. Below is one of each of the street tacos they offer.

Another WORST of the year came from Fox Smokehouse BBQ. It was their macaroni and cheese and their pulled pork. The macaroni and cheese maybe can win a prize for WORST ON THE PLANET. It was mushy pasta mix with something like Velveeta, topped with some real cheese that didn’t melt in.

And LOTS of BURNT CHEESE mixed in.

NOBODY wants lots of globs of BURNT CHEESE. How the FORK did something like this come out of the kitchen? This is TRASH!

The pulled pork was so dry and stringy that you could use it as dental floss. This is also a big fat miss.

Best of the week was the Bulgogi Steak from Moo Woo Korean BBQ.

Gosh this was tender and SOoooooooooooooooooo Delicious!

It’s pretty rare that the best and worst of the week come from the same restaurant. The Best plate of the week was from Amador Cocina Fina. When there GET THE MUSHROOMS!

This was oyster mushroom yakitori with hoja Santa pesto, Tokyo negi, and sesame seeds. Other plates were good too especially the branzino, and the eggs with shrimp and house made potato chips. It was more good than bad but this one plate just didn’t even seem like it came from the same restaurant and chef.

The Flambe Tarte – Pastrami, Manchego Cheese, Caramelized Onions and NOT MENTIONED ON MENU TONS and TONS of Creme Fracihe -, BLECH!
