Had some FORKING Amazing foods at Sushisamba in the Palazzo part of the Venetian Hotel/Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
We also enjoyed another very nice meal at Rang’s Cocina Moderne. Everything including service was very good but Rang’s NEW wasabi cheesecake with soy-caramel sauce is FORKING AMAZING!
Below are a few plates from a few visits to Rang’s.
One plate we had was almost good but not good because of the sauce on it.
The crispy green beans from Cajun Crackin.
Crispy Green Beans from Cajun Crackin
No mention of the sauce on their menu. Too much sauce that is thick and like heavy soy sauce. YUK!
My local Smith’s Grocery Store often has the wrong signs out on stuff.
They also usually offer dead herbs.
I LOVE dogs but I know better than to bring my dog to a grocery store. I see people walk their dogs in here often.
Not sure but I think that man is carrying a poop bag?
Oh and this store always has a mess to navigate around.

That was The FORKING Las Vegas Food Buzz of the Week
Best of the week was Monzu Italian Oven & Bar. They offer the best bread that you can find in Vegas and everything else is always fantastic.
Also a little Southern-Soul Restaurant called Papa Joes is pretty good too but it’s a tiny casual take out place. But if you are lucky you can snap one of their three tables inside.
Have one not good to report. Tried The Krazy Buffet. It was mostly awful.

Best plate out of the week is a toss up between the smash burger that my husband enjoyed from the newly opened The Cantina in North Las Vegas and also the Chicken Leg Hummus Bowl from (also) Newly Opened Blue Olive Mediterranean Grill and Pizza.
Just look at this smash burger.
It’s pretty amazing and juicy and also nicely seared with a toasted bun. It also came out with a good amount of cheese.
Here’s the hummus bowl.
The chicken is really perfect, delicious, tender, and juicy. It sits in embellished hummus and came with very good fluffy pita breads. It also was a very good value and didn’t coast much and was two meals for me. It’s a must get dish.
We also tried Sapporo Japanese Steakhouse & Revolving Sushi. It’s not the very best sushi but was fun and doesn’t cost much if you are doing the revolving sushi. $3.25 for each plate you take.

That was The FORKING Las Vegas Food Buzz of the Week
There was mostly all very good this week so it’s hard to pick a best. One of the all time favorite plates that you can taste anywhere is the Golden Pouches from Lemongrass and Lime Thai Bistro. Even if you don’t like most Thai Foods most people will love the mashed potato dumplings in crispy rice paper. that sit in a really delicious masaman curry with shallots. Lemongrass and Lime also offer specials that are usually very good and off their menu I think that the hard to find pumpkin curry and their green curry are special dishes. Below are many of the plates we tried from Lemongrass and Lime (P.S. if they are offering their Thai Spicy Chocolate Cake – Get it!)
We also enjoyed the 3 course lunch special from Matteo’s Ristorante Italiano. It’s a shame that they make the most perfect salmon with a crispy skin that stays crispy. It is too hard to move on and try other dishes but Matteo’s is always very good. OH and if they have the Ligurian Focaccia on the menu GET IT because it is FORKING Amazing. Below are pictures from a few visits.
Made a new great discovery. Who knew that the Venetian has a high end chocolate store from Japan called Royce? Tried some chocolates and they melted in the mouth like no other. Great discovery!
Also tried another 24/7 bar, gaming, sports bar type of place that was surprisingly very good called Joey’s Tavern.
I had a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and my husband tried the (smokes in house) BBQ Beef Brisket Sandwich special. Both were very good but it was a bit dark in there and the seats were uncomfortable.

Had two very good meals out this week. One was from STK Steakhouse in the Rio. Currently they have a Sunday-Thursday 3:30-5:30 Three Course Special for $69. per person. Everything was delicious and very good.
Also a new place called The Cantina opened even closer than the Centennial Location that I have been to. They just might serve the best fajitas in town so that is a big win!
Steak and Chicken Fajitas from The Cantina
On the bad side the cheesesteak and chicken steak hoagie were HORRIBLE from Tony Luke’s in the Rio.
Both were filled with dried out crunchy meats.
Also my local neighborhood Smith always has something.
Today I saw this in there.
The $21.62 package of steak got reduced? to $22.28 WTFork!
Best meal out of the week came from Rang’s Cocina Moderne. This time I enjoyed the pesto crusted salmon and my husband enjoyed the slow braised beef cheek.
Incase you don’t know. Rangs Cocina Moderne is a top 100 restaurant of Las Vegas. On all my visits there the food is always very good and so was the service.
It was a very busy week
Also did the Neighborhood Block Party Summer Fest at The Resort at Summerlin.
Also discovered Cafe Landwer. Maybe the first chain I’ve been to that was usually good.
Above is from Cafe Landwer.
Most terrible things of the week were the over salted tacos from the Neighborhood Block Party from Tacos 1986.
Maybe the biggest FOOD News story this week is the sudden closure of all the Salad and Gos Here. All seven have closed and will reopen as Dutch Brothers Coffee places.

Not only is my local Smith’s Grocery Store Filthy all the time, always has dead herbs, and usually has the wrong signs on some f the food. Just this week they had a broccoli crowns sign on peppers.
A smoked ham sign on King Hawaiian Rolls.
Dead herbs for sale.
Filthy refrigerators

Maybe the best of the week was Moo Woo Korean BBQ
We got way more than we could eat.
Most of the food was better than from my first visit but the downside was that my favorite dish (the Bulgogi Steak was not as good. Don’t know if we accidentally over cooked it or just a different cut that’s not as good?)
Maybe the worst of the week was the Szechwan Beef from Ellie’s Kitchen.
It wasn’t terrible but didn’t taste like Szechwan Beef. It taste like beef in beef gravy with a splash of soy sauce. NO HOT PEPPER for us. This place says that they serve authentic style Chinese Foods. Well not to everyone.

Most exciting meal out of the week was the Chef Fabio Viviani Italian Three Chickens Demo and Tastings at his restaurant ai Pazzi. The Chef was funny and entertaining and the tastings were more than most people can eat.
Also enjoyed some AMAZING Thai Dishes at 328 Thai. I have to say that the Shiso Leaves are amazing and so was the Sea Bass.

Best meal out of the week was from Aroma. Most of the dishes there are spectacular. It’s a modern Latin Restaurant with artsy foods. Here are photos from my visit and photos from their original location.
Worst of the week was the made in house pastrami sandwich from Able Baker Bomb Shelter.
I do note that the made in house bun and side salad was very good but the pastrami was awful. It tastes like dollar store lunch meat. YUK! I do note that some things are good there. Both people I know that ate the pork belly dishes said that the pork belly was very good. Lots of people also can be seen drinking beer there too.

Best meal out this week was the Apple Pecan Salad with added salmon from Village Pub. YES it was a pleasant surprise.
Most disappointing meal out was from Flecha Cantina. We previously loved many of the dishes here that we tried. I don’t know if the recipes changed? Or maybe it was just an off day with the chef on vacation?????? We’ve been there five times. FOUR out of FIVE times we got the Pistachio Goatcheese Ball with Spicy Tamarind Sauce because it always was so crazy delicious. It looked like picture below.
The one we just got was different.
It doesn’t look or tastes the same.
The one above was packed with layers of delicious flavors and some heat.
The one below was very flat tasting and not delicious.
I will go so far to even mention that I suspect it’s might now be mixed with mostly cream cheese.
Also instead of pistachios there is a slight amount of pistachio dust.
Unfortunately they cut out everything that made it special.
