My FORKING Thoughts on Maeve Dirt Pile Rich Dark Chocolate Bars

My local Sprouts Grocery had a sale on a selection of Maeve Chocolate Bars on sale so I picked what sounded like what was the most interesting flavor that day. It was called Dirt Pile Rich Dark Chocolate Bar. It said that it was made of Dark Chocolate, Mini Chocolate Chips, Crunchy Cookies, and Cocao Nibs.

Sounds good

I open it up…..it’s slightly broken….Maybe that is why it was reduced so much?

Take a piece

When you just eat it then it’s hard to tell what is in the chocolate.

When you let it dissolve in your mouth then you clearly can identify cookie crumbs and the bitter cocao nibs. I didn’t identify mini chocolate chips and I think maybe they just melted into the bar.

The bar does have a nice rich chocolate flavor and isn’t waxy. It’s good but also small. I wouldn’t pay too much for it.

Not bad and Worth a Try!

Those were my FORKING Thoughts on the Maeve Dirt Pile Rich Dark Chocolate Bar. I do note that your FORKING THOUGHTS may indeed differ.

Pho Aimie is Still Worth a Fork! – North Las Vegas NV

Phoe Aimie is a full service Vietnamese Restaurant located in North Las Vegas Nevada. They offer twenty varieties of pho (normally a beef noodle soup). Some of the other offerings are – appetizers, vermicelli plates, rice dishes, and noodle dishes. They also offer soft beverages, Vietnamese Iced coffee, and beer.

Someone usually seats you as soon as you walk in.

It’s an Asian atmosphere inside with large Asian urns, bamboo, and hanging lanterns.

You might want to start off with something like the potstickers. You can order chicken or pork and they come out crispy.

My Trip to Flowing Tide Pub 8 – Las Vegas NV

Flowing Tide Pub 8 is a 24/7 Bar, Gaming, and Restaurant Type of place that is located in the Centennial Part of Las Vegas Nevada. It looks very similar to most of the other 24/7 bar, gaming, restaurant places with a big bar in the middle and lots of big screen TVs. They offer many of the usual foods that you get in these kinds of places. They offer all day breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, salads, pastas, entrees and more.

This one has bar seating, high top table seating, high booths, and some sofa seating. I noticed one small traditional table by one of the doors. People under 21 are not allowed in.

We started by sharing an appetizer called Caulifire (spicy cauliflower)

It came with a sauce described as creamy gorgonzola with cilantro. Whatever it all was everything had good flavors to it. The cauliflower did run very spicy. I needed to use the creamy sauce to eat it. I liked the flavors but the cauliflower was a soft and maybe overcooked.

I tried the pacific salmon for dinner.

I asked for a medium cook on the salmon. It’s not medium but is moist so I’m happy enough. Tastes like mostly butter and dill. The vegetables seem fresh but are slightly over cooked and are very soft. The rice is tasty.

My husband tried the fish (cod) and chips.

It was mostly good. Liked the blue cheese slaw and fries. Liked the fish but the batter was soft like cake and not crispy.

That was my trip to Flowing Tide Pub 8.

Great American Foodie Fest 2026 Las Vegas

Great American Foodie Fest took place in Desert Breeze Park in Las Vegas Nevada May 8, 9, &10 2026. General Admission was $10 to get in plus the cost of food and drink. One of the VIP options was $45. but included trips to five food trucks.

They were organized in a strange way that was a mess.

We had to wait in one line to get wrist bands and then jump into another line to get in. Then we choose VIP and had to wait in a third line to get our food tickets.

What I didn’t know was that only certain food trucks offered the VIP food.

and you needed your cell phone to figure this out.

The seating was limited and filled up fast. It protected you from the 100F heat we had today.

They were playing LOUD older music. I heard an EXTRA LONG version of Rod Steward’s – Do You Think I’m Sexy followed by Abba’s Dancing Queen.

First Bites were –

Birria La Paz – Fish Taco and Shrimp Taco – Actually very tasty

Next was

A slice of plain pizza for me and a slice of pepperoni for my husband from – Sincity Pizza

and I was kinda full so we finished with 1/2 a ice cream filled doughnut.

from Yonutz

I now know that I will never purchase tickets in advance and also will just do general admission because I didn’t get my VIP’s money’s worth. I also didn’t try other food trucks that I might have enjoyed more because I already paid for a much smaller VIP selection.

The FORKING Las Vegas FOOD Buzz of the Week

The SLOPPIEST Burger that I ever had in all my life was the Burger with grilled onions and brava sauce from Brasserie By Edo. This burger even cooked passed my medium request was very juicy and also falling apart. The bun sort of disintegrated and couldn’t hold up to all that sauce, onions, and juicy burger. It was impossible to even pick up just half of it to eat. You had to eat it with a knife and fork. Also watch out for the ketchup vinaigrette. It turns burning HOT and becomes impossible to eat too.

I did get to taste a pizza like no other that I ever had from Heavenly Pies and Trattoria.

It’s thin, with crisp layers sort of like a cracker.

It’s topped with a rich sauce and quality cheese and the right amount of seasoning.

My FORKING Thoughts on Kettle Avocado Oil Kimchi Potato Chips

I Thought Kettle Kimchi Potato Chips sound like an amazing flavor to try so I picked them up at my local Sprouts Grocery Store. I always look at the ingredients to decide if I want to give it a try.

By looking at the ingredients I can tell that it is a 50/50 chance of me liking them. Not always but MOST of the time I can’t tolerate citric acid and also have some trouble with dry vinegar….so?

I try them anyway.

First I open the bag and see lots of smaller chips.

I take a whiff.

Smells kinda funky with lots of mixed seasonings that can’t be identified.

I eat a small chip. It’s not sweet like a bbq can be but also is spicier with a burn in it to me.

Then I try to eat a chip more slowly…..

I get a different taste now…..MORE SOUR and MORE BITTER and sort of painful.

Back to just eating a chip normal.

Now I get a garlic taste that I didn’t get before but it is a sour garlic taste.

Multi-demential in taste but you need to be less sensitive than me to enjoy it.

Those were my FORKING thoughts on Spicy Kimchi Kettle Chips. Your Forking thoughts on these Kettle Chips may differ.

My Trip to Fox Smokehouse BBQ – Boulder City NV – Not the Best

We went on a day trip to Boulder City. It’s only about 45 minutes from North Las Vegas so we thought it might be fun. They have several antique shops and a few museums there. Most places are listed as opening at 10am but I’ve found out that most of Boulder City runs very late so don’t count on any place opening on time in Boulder City.

Fox Smokehouse BBQ has an impressive 4.5 star rating out of over a thousand reviews on Yelp. They are also listed as a top Boulder City Restaurant destination by our local newspaper so I thought Fox Smokehouse BBQ was a safe and good place to try lunch.

We get there.

When you walk in to the left side is a bar and bar area. Not photoed are BUNCHES of PIG decorations. I was surprised not to find any Fox decorations at FOX Smokehouse BBQ.

To the right is a dining area with a salad bar. But I don’t know why anyone would get the salad bar here. The meats are ham, bacon, and lunch meat turkey. If they had some sort of add on to smoked meat option I might have tried it.

I ordered the smoked turkey breast platter with macaroni and cheese and also corn.

This is a lot of food that can feed 2 or more people.

The turkey really does have amazing flavors to it but it is on the DRY side.

Corn has a good flavor to it.

But the macaroni-n-cheese really sucks!

BLECH!!!!!!

It’s like mushy pasta mixed with something like Velveeta. Then they tried to mix in real cheese that didn’t melt into it.

And it also has GLOBS OF BURNT CHEESE THROUGH IT.

YUCK!!!!!!!!! GROSS!!!!!!!!!! ICK!!!!!!!! EKKK!!!!!!!!

What the FORK? Only a toddler would cook up something like this.

My husband did worst with the pulled pork platter.

The beans and cornbread were ok but the pulled pork was very dry and stringy.

The pulled pork was so dry and stringy that you could use it as dental floss.

The Kopper Keg North – Las Vegas NV – Worth a Try!

The Kopper Keg is a 24/7 Gaming, Bar, and Dining kind of place. They have 4 locations in Vegas (North, South, East, West) and one location near by in Henderson. The menus differ slightly. Kopper Keg North offers many appetizers or bar snacks. Some of the offerings are tacos, nachos, Bavarian Pretzels, wings, salads, wraps, and pizzas.

You can sit at the bar or at a table in the dining area.

We started out with the Mac-n-Cheese bites. (They come with ranch dressing on the side)

They are actually pretty tasty. A bit spicy too.

I went with the Asian Chop Salad with Blackened Salmon.

It tastes better than it looks and the salmon is pretty good too! It’s also a large portion of salad and salmon. I’m guessing at least 6 ounces of salmon.

My husband tried the special of the day. A sausage and pepperoni sandwich with cheese, sauce, and tater tots.

Not high end but is OK

Moo Woo Korean BBQ Is Worth a Fork! Las Vegas NV

Moo Woo Korean BBQ is located in the Centennial part of Las Vegas Nevada. It’s a Korean BBQ. They offer some appetizers and side dishes. The main menu are combos of 5 kinds of meat that you cook at the burner on your table that serve 2-3 people and double sized combo of ten kinds of meat that serve 4-5 people. They also offer add on plates so you can have even MORE! Soft beverages, beer, wine, and solo are offered.

We tried a special order Woo Combo (no galbe substitute spicy chicken).

We get banchan (small side dishes), rice, seasonings to start.

We also get corn cheese and some sort of soup.

We also get this really delicious salad that has a lot of flavor to it.

I think this might be the Rib Eye Steak with a small cube of beef fat.

This came out tender and delicious.

I think this was the Prime Thin Sliced Brisket.

This was the plainest of the meats but still was tender.

Below is the Bulgogi Steak.

This one was FORKING incredible. SUPER Tender and very DELICIOUS. I wish that I could come in to just get this. This is what you want here.

Below is regular Bulgogi. It’s tastier than the thin sliced brisket but not the DELICIOUS BOMB Bulgogi Steak is.

Lastly we had the Spicy Chicken instead of the galbe (rib) that normally comes with the Woo Combo.

It’s also delicious and tender. This was way more food than most couples can eat (and my husband is a big eater) We had lunch (I was too full to have dinner) and took home enough for a dinner for two for the next day.

I have to say Moo Woo BBQ is Worth a Fork!
