My Trip to Naxos Taverna + Kallisto Oyster Bar at Red Rock Casino Las Vegas NV (2025) – Not the best

Naxos Taverna + Kallisto Oyster Bar is a contemporary Greek Style Seafood Focused Restaurant located in the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas Nevada. They were offering a three course Restaurant Week (June 2-20th 2025 But manager told us this offer was extended again to June 22 2025……(?) …….(I have not found that info posted anywhere…?) Lunch for $40. so we decided to give it a try. It’s beautiful inside.

I started out and asked for Iced Tea.

It came out warm with no ice. I asked for ice.

My husband’s first course was oysters (east coast & west coast).

He said he liked the west coast oysters more than the east coast oysters because they had a brinier stronger flavor.

I tried a Greek Salad.

YIKES! The pickled shallot is so strong I can’t eat it. I really only like the raw tomatoes because they tastes like good heirloom tomatoes. The feta cheese is too salty for me and it tastes like they added extra salt to the cheese. The cucumbers are ok but taste old.

My husband tried the Seafood Linguini ($10. extra)

He said it was made with one extra hard over cooked shrimp (cut in pieces), over cooked clams, and he thinks it was missing the crab.

I tried the Lavraki (Greek Sea Bass).

The fish is cooked nicely but is way too salty for my taste. The tiny tomatoes help some.

For dessert we shared the Froyo and the Date Spice Cake.

Not much flavor in the Froyo and the cake was very dry with little flavor.

That was my trip to-

Zaytinya – Las Vegas NV – Mostly Good..but not perfect

Zaytinya is a Mediterranean Restaurant by Chef José Andrés. The Las Vegas Location is in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. They offer a main menu and a chef’s experience menu. On the night of my visit it was still Restaurant Week and a special Restaurant Week Menu (June 2-20th 2025) was also being offered. (Zaytinya translates to Olive Oil in Greek).

It’s modern and attractive inside. Below is the bar area.

Below pictured is part of the Dining Area-

Whatever you order they start you off with pita breads and oil embellished with balsamic.

The pitas are hallow and are more like balloon bread.

We started out with hummus, crisp vegetables (an added extra plate), and stuffed grape leaves called dolmades.

We both really enjoyed the crisp vegetables, and the amazing grape leaves. The grape leaves might have been the best I’ve tasted anywhere. I like the flavors in the hummus but not so much the texture because here it is very thick.

Next was a beet salad and Brussels sprouts.

The salad was good. The Brussels sprout had good flavors but the actual Brussels sprouts were served all dried out.

For my husbands main he had the Cumin Spiced Meatballs. He said they were really different but good.

I tried the salmon.

It was 2/3rds very good and 1/3rd awful……See next picture.

It’s hard for you to tell but this is a very small, very flat piece of fish and it is 1/3 bloodline (The dark meat pictured) Usually in nicer restaurants they remove the bloodline because it taste like bad fish.

Last course was dessert.

We both received Olive Oil Cakes that were very good.

We also received Greek Yogurts with Cherry that were interesting and different. We received the Greek Yogurts as a bonus plate because my husband complained about them sending all the plates of food to the table at once.

Zaytinya – Mostly Good but not perfect.

WSKY Bar & Grill #4 Cheyenne – North Las Vegas NV – OK for Casual Eats

WSKY Bar & Grill is an American 24/7 Gaming Bar & Restaurant with 4 locations in Las Vegas Nevada. They offer all day breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also offer daily specials, happy hour and reverse happy hour. They offer a mix of different seating options. Bar seating, high tops, booth seating traditional tables, and another dining room.

Big screen TVs are all around.

I tried The Asian Crunch Salad.

It’s suppose to contain – crispy or grilled chicken, cabbage, romaine, sweet chili cucumbers, crunchy ramen noodles, mandarine oranges, roasted peanuts, sesame seeds, cilantro, and sweet sesame dressing. To me the salad was OK but might have been better if it contained the missing peanuts, green onions, sesame seeds, and cilantro. Without those things the dressing also ran slightly too sweet but might have tasted better with the missing items.

My husband enjoyed the Italian Grinder ( salami, ham, spicy capicola, provolone, lettuce, onion, banana pepper, garlic & red wine aioli, on a hoagie roll served hot or cold)

That was my lunch trip to WSKY Bar & Grill. Not Perfect but reasonably good.

Went back to try restaurant week dinner since it only was 3 courses for $30. (Restaurant Week has been extended to June 20th for this restaurant They were also offering a $20. three course lunch)

We started out with Buffalo Chicken Fries and Cheese Steak Fries.

Buffalo Chicken Fries

Cheese Steak Fries

Both were enormous plates of food and both were tasty. (We had enough leftovers here alone for MORE than another lunch)

My main was the salmon.

I wasn’t expecting high quality here but still it does taste like frozen fish from the supermarket. Smashed potatoes are good, Broccolini was over cooked and turned to mush.

Ribeye is very thin and cooked all the way and served with smashed potatoes and over cooked broccolini that turns to mush. Ribeye was edible but was more like something a neighbor or relative cooked than a going out to eat meal.

A brownie a la mode and cinnamon churros came for dessert.

It’s best to just stick with the casual food here.

Restaurant Week 2025 – The Ridge Bar & Grill – 3 Course $20. Lunch – Darn Good and Plentiful – Sure Worth Trying!

The Ridge Bar & Grill is a Bar, Gaming, and 24/7 Restaurant located in the Summerlin part of Las Vegas Nevada. Inside is a big bar with big screen TVs.

Around the bar are many half booths.

We came to try the Restaurant Week $20. 3 Course Lunch.

We got way more food than we could eat and brought almost half of it home.

Deviled Eggs

Pretzel Bites with Cheese Sauce and Ridge Mustard

This seems like a double portion of fish and chips to me. It’s all good but the cole slaw might be the best I’ve tasted anywhere. Fresh made and crisp but it was the special vinegar that makes it pop….

My husband said that the smash burger was very good too.

One order of the churros got wrapped for latter. They came with a berry sauce and a caramel sauce.

Darn Good and Plentiful – Sure Worth Trying!

The $20 Restaurant Week got extended to June 20th but these dishes are all on their regular menu.

Restaurant Week 2025 – OhLaLa French Bistro – Las Vegas NV – 3 Courses $60. Worth a Fork!

OhLaLa is a French Bistro and Bar in the Summerlin part of Las Vegas Nevada. They are offering three course lunches and also three course dinners for Restaurant Week. They have bar seating and traditional table seating.

It’s up to you on what you want to select –

Whatever you order they start you off with bread and butter.

The warm goat cheese with pistachios and onion jam is so scrumptious that it is impossible to resist.

It’s also a very generous portion and after both of us enjoying about three pieces of bread with it we enjoy taking the rest home for latter.

The French Onion soup is also unusually delicious.

It’s not the common beef broth…Here it is a well made REAL onion soup.

For dinner we had-

Sole with fingerling potatoes and a brown butter caper sauce

Flank Steak with fries and a red wine shallot sauce.

Desserts were –

lemon tart

Chocolate Liegois Ice cream (We should have just ate the ice cream and brought the tart home because this was all too generous of portion size for us)

See the Restaurant Week Website for the other extensions.

To get to this dining area you either have to walk up the stairs or use the elevator.

It starts with the tomato, watermelon, and cucumber skewer.

2nd Course is either a Bibb salad or Lollipop kale salad.

Bibb salad

Lollipop kale salad

Then for your main you pick either the roasted chicken sandwich with house made chips (that did look really good) but since this is a steakhouse that makes ground in house burgers of chuck, short rib, and brisket that comes with Kennebec fries you will probably pick the burger and both of us did.

My husband enjoyed his with the addition of cheddar cheese (they will add American or cheddar at no additional cost).

Here’s mine.

It’s quite large (at least 8oz.) (I’m taking half home)

Today it tastes amazing. The most amazing burger I’ve tasted in Las Vegas so far but I do note that I had this burger three times and one time it did taste different but two times amazing.

For dessert it’s sorbet and fruit.

cantaloupe sorbet & fruit (not so great)

or

Carmel Turtle Sundae (better than cantaloupe)

Echo & Rig – The 4 Course Restaurant Week Lunch is very good and you have a possibility of tasting one of the best burgers that you can find in Las Vegas. This offer has been extended to June 20th.

My Trip to My Garage Kitchen – North Las Vegas NV

My Garage Kitchen is a garage themed family owned restaurant located in North Las Vegas Nevada. They are open for American Style breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Inside is mostly traditional table seating. They do have a small bar and an outside patio.

I tried the Grilled Salmon.

I requested medium but was served well done. The server did offer to remake the dish but I just ate it anyway. The mashed potatoes are a very generous portion but are more like a smashed potato and is a bit dry. The asparagus are unusually great. Nice and fresh crisp and seasoned unusually well and also are a bit spicy.

My husband tried the patty melt.

He said that the patty is also a bit over done but tastes ok with all the cheese and onions. He also said that the rye bread was very good and he liked the onion rings. The server also offered to remake this one too but we were about 1/3 finished already by that time and didn’t want to start over.

Very good if you like your food all well done.

I suspect that breakfast might be the sweet spot here.

That was my trip to My Garage Kitchen.
