Lemongrass & Lime is a Modern Thai Bistro type of place that has full service and also offers wine and beer. They have two locations in Las Vegas but so far I only go to the Centennial Location in the North/West part of Vegas. I think even people who are not a fan of Thai Food will still LOVE the Golden Pouches.

OMG YUM! – Mashed potato stuffed crispy rice paper that sits in the yummiest masaman curry with crispy shallots. My husband hates most curries but somehow also loves this dish.

It’s unusually DELICIOUS and most of the other Thai Restaurants don’t offer this dish.

Another better dish here is their green curry. They just happen to do Green curry better than a lot of other places. Other better dishes are their specials and some of their seasonal desserts.

Recently (off the summer special menu) I tried the Crispy Marinated Hamachi Collar. I did think it was more of a hardy appetizer but was listed as an entree. It was marinated in coconut, lime juice, and Thai Spices. It wasn’t very pretty but was the tastiest fish collar anywhere.

Trattoria 57 is an Italian Inspired Style Bar and Large Restaurant located in Aliante Casino/Hotel in North Las Vegas Nevada. It really is visually beautiful and spacious inside. This same restaurant used to be known as Bistro 57.

They offer a basic Italian Style Menu and also offer monthly specials.

They also start you off with a complimentary basket of bread and also serve you embellished oil.

(this bread is a strange kind of squishy style) – Not the best.

They do have a good deal. When you buy an entree you can add on a cup of soup or a salad for $5.00 so my husband tried a cup of a creamy sausage soup and he thought it was good.

I tried the salmon and asked for it to be cooked medium. I got-

Cooked on the outside and sushi raw on the inside. I don’t know what they did but my guess is that this fish might have been thrown on the grill from frozen? Not the best. On the bright side the potatoes are tasty but the vegetable (verts) are over cooked and soggy. Not the best.

My husband tried the Osso Buco.

I hate to tell you think but as soon as you see it you know the sauce is wrong. It should be a sauce made with the slow braising liquid. Also I was told that this was edible but not braised enough and needed maybe another hour of braising. – Not the best. I heard that the saffron risotto was ok but a little gummy.

I do note that the service and comfortable booth was nice.

This is a place to you go when you don’t feel like driving further for better.

Or a place to go to when you aren’t picky.

La Pizza La Pasta is an authentic style full service Italian pizza and pasta full service restaurant located in Eataly in the MGM Grand on the Lad Vegas Strip in Nevada. Just like their name they specialize in serving Neapolitan Pizzas and Hand Made Pastas. They also prepare fresh mozzarella daily. They happened to have two open kitchens. One is for pasta and the other is for pizza.

We started out with a tomato carpaccio.

It’s not bad but it’s also not perfect. Tomatoes could be more ripe. Capers are slightly burnt. There also is a possible menu misprint. Menu reads that this contains fresh oregano but we got fresh basil.

I am happy to say that both pizzas are very good.

I got the called Pizza MSC – San Marzano sauce, Mozzarella, Fried Eggplant. Grated Ricotta, Basil.

My husband got one of the meaty ones. He said that it was very good and ate the whole thing!

Well I don’t know how everything is there but I can say that both pizzas were very good so It’s Worth a Try!

Landwer Café is a Mediterranean Chain of full service restaurants with close to 100 locations. This restaurant was established as a Coffee House back in 1919 by Moshe Landwer in Berlin. In 1933 due to growing rise of the Nazis The Landwer Family and Coffee Shop relocated to Tel Aviv. Today they have around EIGHTY locations in Israel and a handful of locations in American and Canada. This isn’t your average Mediterranean Chain. They offer Artisan Coffees, Bar Drinks, House Baked Breads and Pastries. You order things like skewers, falafels, hummus, fluffy pitas, shakshuka, entrees, and more.

It’s very busy. You might have to wait for a table.

While you are waiting for your table you might? want to check out the fresh baked pastries?

But sadly by the time you are seated the pastry you wanted might be sold out?

Anyways we got seated and didn’t wait too long.

We shared The Mezza Platter and a side order of falafels.

Everything here is fresh and very good.

Fluffy hot pita breads that are also lightly salted. Pickled fresh vegetables, tzatziki, skordaliar (Greek potato almond dip), matbucha (tomato, pepper, garlic dip (both our favorite), hummus (creamy and better than most)

Falafels – crisp exteriors and herby interiors – like they should be!

My husband can eat more than me.

He tried the beef and lamb skewers.

He said the skewers were juicy and moist. He said that they were cooked perfect but would like a little more flavor in the skewers. For his taste the vegetable side was good but had too many fresh herbs.

We packed up a good amount of the Mezza Platter so we could share a pastry.

By this time they were sold out of everything but two desserts.

We shared the cinnamon walnut babka croissant and it was delicious.

In North Las Vegas we have the Cannery Casino/Hotel by Boyd Gaming. Carved Prime Rib steakhouse is located in The Cannery and of course the specialty of the house are the Prime Ribs. They also offer a fresh ground in house ten ounce Prime Rib Burger that comes with fries. The first couple years that I lived here those prime rib burgers were amazing. I noticed a change in the burgers over the past year or two. With the exception of one GOD AWFUL VISIT (dry and didn’t taste like prime rib) I noticed that the burgers in general still taste good and are juicy but no matter on how you ask for the cook you only get a medium-well burger.

Above is the Prime Rib Burger. It comes with sautéed onions, ,mushrooms and Swiss Cheese (no cheese at my request) and fries.

Today it was still a good burger but at $24. I think they should be able to serve medium or medium-rare too!
