Village Pub – Aliante – North Las Vegas NV – 24/7 Bar, Gaming, Restaurant – Worth a Try!

Village Pub is not a fancy place. It is one of the many casual 24/7 Bar, Gaming, Restaurants that we have in Vegas that offers an American Food and Breakfast Menu. There are (at this time and about to grow even more) sixteen Village Pub locations in Vegas. The North Las Vegas Aliante location has a separate bar and gaming room and also a non smoking dining room.

I decided to try the Apple Pecan Salad with added salmon.

I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. My blackened salmon was nicely seasoned and moist and fresh tasting. It was cooked to around medium (that’s pretty darn rare especially in North Las Vegas). It was surrounded by fresh soft greens. crisp fresh cut apple, a good amount of candied pecans, lots of garlic toast and citrus vinaigrette.

My husband tried the Chicken Fried Chicken.

He was pretty pleased with this dish too. He said that the chicken was moist and delicious as were the potatoes and eggs. He also enjoyed the rye bread that he got with it.

Pricing was reasonable and portions were large.

First visit here to Village Pub was a winner!

Trattoria Reggiano – Mostly Very Good – Summerlin Las Vegas NV

Trattoria Reggiano is a full service Italian Restaurant and Bar with two locations in Vegas. One location is in the Venetian Casino/Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip and the other location is in the Downtown Summerlin open mall. The Summerlin location offers a more casual slightly shorter menu with sandwiches and Monday-Friday Happy Hour Menus. The Summerlin location also offers outdoor patio seating, bar seating, and traditional table seating.

Below is the front dining area.

Below you can see some of the patio area.

You can also see the open kitchen.

I decided to try the Grilled Salmon.

It’s a nice large portion of fish. They removed the skin and the bloodline so you don’t have to worry about that. It’s cooked around medium so it’s nice and moist and is fresh tasting. It came with perfectly cooked and seasoned broccoli, fancy carrots with garlic, and those gourmet mini potatoes with fresh rosemary. It’s very good! It’s also a very large portion of food. Not everyone but many can get two meals out of this.

My husband’s Chicken Parmesan was also perfect and very good.

It’s also a large generously sized plate of food.

I had half of my plate packed up so we could share an Imported Italian Tartufo. (chocolate shell with strawberry, pistachio, chocolate gelatos inside)

Everything was perfect until dessert.

It looks good but it tastes like no frills budget ice cream. I would not recommend the imported Italian Tartufo.

But the salmon and chicken parmesan were very good.

Maybe we’ll try Happy Hour next time?

The FORKING FOOD Buzz of the Week

Best meal out of the week came from Rang’s Cocina Moderne. This time I enjoyed the pesto crusted salmon and my husband enjoyed the slow braised beef cheek.

Incase you don’t know. Rangs Cocina Moderne is a top 100 restaurant of Las Vegas. On all my visits there the food is always very good and so was the service.

It was a very busy week

Also did the Neighborhood Block Party Summer Fest at The Resort at Summerlin.

Also discovered Cafe Landwer. Maybe the first chain I’ve been to that was usually good.

Above is from Cafe Landwer.

Most terrible things of the week were the over salted tacos from the Neighborhood Block Party from Tacos 1986.

Maybe the biggest FOOD News story this week is the sudden closure of all the Salad and Gos Here. All seven have closed and will reopen as Dutch Brothers Coffee places.

My FORKING Thoughts on Sprouts Lemon Tzatziki Potato Chips

I came across these Limited Edition Lemon Tzatziki Potato Chips at my local Sprouts Grocery. I thought they were among one of the strangest flavors for potato chips that I have seen. It took me a few weeks to muster the courage to try them.

I open the bag.

The bag isn’t very full.

I take a whiff.

It’s strange.

It’s kinda citrus-ee and also funky in a weird way.

I look at the ingredients.

Seems ok for processed food. Don’t understand yeast extract.

For me it’s very difficult to let one chip dissolve slowly in my mouth because it burns and is also bitter and also very unappetizing to me. I do get a sort of lemon finish that is mixed with a sort vomit taste.

I do note that I am slightly more sensitive than other people to citric acid and also vinegar.

These are FORKING GROSS to me. It’s like bitter sour burning vomit mixed with sour lemon.

I have no idea on why anyone would produce something so vile.

Those were my FORKING Thoughts on Sprouts Lemon Tzatziki Potato Chips.

I also doubt that ANYONE will like them.

Flecha Cantina by Mark Wahlberg – Las Vegas NV – 7-2026 – The FORKING Truth is that EVERYTHING is subject to change

Flecha Cantina by Mark Wahlberg is a creative style Mexican Restaurant and Bar located in the Towns Square shopping center in Las Vegas that is not too far from the Las Vegas Strip. This restaurant is bought to you by local celebrity and resident Mark Wahlberg. (at this time) this restaurant offers lunch, brunch, and dinner. This restaurant has an outdoor patio, bar seating, booth, and traditional tables.

On every visit (so far on 5 visits) they served us complimentary fruit cocktails on the way to the table.

On all our visits we received delicious spicy salsa and chips to start on.

The pistachio goat cheese appetizer used to be so delicious that we ordered it on 4 out of 5 visits so far.

It was described as goat cheese with pistachios and spicy tamarind sauce with fried pita breads.

This is the July 2026 version below.

You can certainly see that it is no longer the same. You can see it’s a less layered sauce that is more flat and you can also see that they cut way back on the pistachios. I can’t say for sure but I think? it tastes closer to cream cheese too than to goat cheese?

The dishes we tried today were the new $20 lunch special menu.

I tried the Verano Watermelon Salad – watermelon, cucumber, goat cheese, baby spinach, arugula, cloud 23 honey mustard dressing, basil, mint, candied pistachios, option to add chicken

I don’t tastes basil or mint. The candied pistachios are impossible to identify. If they are there they are crushed so fine that you don’t really get them. The dust on the salad tastes spiced and possibly includes a candied crushed pistachio? The watermelon, cheese, and chicken are all ok. The dressing is tasty on the salad.

My husband tried the Street Tacos (pork belly, carnitas, chicken)

He said that the tacos were tasty but they were lighter with the meat in the pork flavors than the chicken taco.

The lunch specials included a soft beverage and a dessert. We both tried the ice cream with churros and took 1/2 the churros packed for home because two orders are too much to eat for most people.

The ice cream and sauces are good.

The churros are all different.

Some seem raw inside.

Some seem filled

But they all lack cinnamon and sugar on the exterior.

Below are some pictures from previous visits to Flecha Cantina.

La Casa De Juliette – Mexican in Centennial Hills Las Vegas NV – Worth a Try!

La Casa De Juliette is a full service Mexican Restaurant and Bar located in the Centennial Hills or North/West part of Vegas. It’s a little dark inside but well lite so you can read the menu.

They currently are offering lunch and a $21. special 2-course lunch.

I tried the fish tacos. They were HUMUNGOUS but more importantly REALLY DELICIOUS! Maybe the best I’ve tried in Vegas so far.

Plump moist mild whitefish with a creamy chipotle slaw and really great tasting pineapple salsa that they call “Pina Pico de Gallo.”

My husband tried the lunch special.

He started with the wings 1/2 mild 1/2 spicy

Unfortunately today someone over cooked the wings or they would have been good.

Then he had the brisket enchiladas.

The flavors are good but the brisket is over cooked today.

Previously we tried La Casa de Juliette for dinner and tried –

Bone Marrow Esquites
Cocktails
Family Style Platter

Not perfect but Worth a Try!
