NEW WEIRD DIFfereNT Limited and Special Edition Foods Out There May 2020

There is always something NEW, WEIRD, DIFFERENT, Limited and Special Edition out there in the wonderful world of food. I never know WTFork I’ll come across when I go to a store. Here is just some of what I’ve come across before the numbers got bad with the pandemic.

Up above is LIMITED – Kellogg’s Rice Krispies with Red White and Blue Krispies. I wonder if the dye comes off on your teeth?

DIFFERENT and maybe NEW – Kellogg’s Toy Story 4 cereal in carnival berry flavored…..? I wonder WTFork is a carnival berry? Could it be some sort of berry that only grows at carnivals? WTFork is that?

WEIRD and Different and maybe NEW – Purely Elizabeth Brand Cauliflower Hot Cereal in cinnamon almond flavor…….?????????????? Eating a bowl of cauliflower for breakfast might be very healthy for you but seems sort of odd.

NEW – Rockit Apples …Might be something to shoot over to the store for?

DIFFERENT – Sunsweet Pacific Tropicals Thai Coconut lightly toasted coconut chips. Is Thai coconut better than Florida or Hawaiian coconut?

NEW – Hostess Birthday Cup Cakes …well everyday it’s someone’s birthday…

Different – By Crafty Cooking Kits Mermaid gelatin cups kit…..It’s a little fishy isn’t it?

Different and maybe NEW – Tasty No Bake Dessert Kits in Choco Mocha (one of my least favorite flavors in the whole world) and confetti………Both sound awful to me…..Just Forking buy a can of frosting and mix it with cake mix and you might end up with the same thing.

Different – Lay’s Flaming Hot Dill Pickle and regular Dill Pickle….II’ve seen them out for a few months now but am suddenly getting more interested in them…….?

DIFFERENT – Maple Guild Maple Syrup in Coffee flavor…?????? WEIRD and YUK! Just Forking spill a cup of coffee on your FORKING pancakes.

NEW – Chex Mix MAX’D in Buffalo Ranch and Spicy Dilll……?

DIFFERENT – Nestle KitKat Chunky Hazelnut Cream from Bulgaria. This really was different. It had a very thick coating of chocolate and was bigger than a normal KitKat. Wasn’t bad….just different.

DIFFERENT – Dark Chocolate Covered Blueberry Acai, Dark Chocolate cover Tangerines and Dark Chocolate covered Strawberries…..Sounds delicious but I don’t know if they are…….???

DIFFERENT – Gourmet Lollipops in pink champagne, champagne bubbles and Prosecco…ummm? Well there’s a sucker for everyone these days.

NEW – Cheesecake Factory Ice Creams in original, cookies and cream, strawberry, birthday cake, key lime, salted caramel and chocolate…? might be good? might suck? Don’t know…..

NEW – Blue Bunny triple chocolate explosion ice cream snacks…..It looks and sounds good?????? Except for the bunny looking up on the box because it makes me feel like these are for bunnies and not people. The box says BUNNY SNACKS…..Are you going to hop in your car to buy them?

NEW – Blue Bunny mini swirls cones in s’mores flavor????????

Different – Sir Kensington’s dressings in classic ranch, avocado oil ranch, pizza ranch and buffalo ranch…..???? What happens if I don’t like ranch?

NEW – Lay’s potato chips in crispy taco flavor…..????? Seems weird for potato chips to taste like tacos?????? IDK?

NEW Lay’s potato chips in cheddar jalapeño flavor? Sounds good….don’t know if they are?

NEW – Lay’s wavy fried green tomatoes….oh yes I did!….These are actually good. They really taste like a tomato with mayonnaise on it.

WEIRD and Different and maybe NEW – Whole Foods vegan unreal corned beef sandwich….It’s unreal!

WEIRD – WTFork are they? Here’s Keebler Whoopsy Fudge Stripes that are artificially flavored. Do these cookies get you drunk….or are they made by drunk people…WHOOPSY???

And of course there has to be a artificially flavored Oreo Cookie.

NEW – Caramel Coconut Oreo Cookies

Well that was the NEW, WEIRD, DIFFERENT, Limited and Special Edition foods out there for May 2020. Who know WTFork I’lll come across next month?

My Forking Thoughts on Lay’s Thai Taste Green Curry Potato Chips

I was looking for some unusual chips to try and I found these Thai Taste Lay’s Green Curry flavored Potato Chips from Thailand. It’s a medium size bag that weighs less than 3 oz.

Here’s the back.

Here’s the ingredients.

One of the ingredients is packing gas? ….OMG did someone fart into the bag?

Another ingredient is natural identical flavor…LOL WTFork is that?

Anyway I open up the bag and take a whiff.

It smells delicious like green curry.

I pour some chips out.

They are very small ridged chips that feel powdery.

Gosh they actually taste better than green curry from some restaurants.

These chips are full of lots of flavors and some heat.

I taste coconut milk and lemongrass the most.

Next I taste chillies, garlic, shallots, lime and fish sauce a little bit of sweet and something sort of gingery and salt.

Not sure what else is in here but these chips have a very good flavor.

If you are a fan of Thai Green Curry then you should be a fan of Lay’s Thai Taste Green Curry Potato Chips.

Worth a Fork!

My Forking Thoughts on Fudge Brownie M&M’s

When a new M&M comes out I just feel like I have to try it even if it rolls out during the pandemic. Armed with onion googles and a mask I risk death by entering an empty CVS store to purchase the last two bags of Fudge Brownie M&M’s. They were on sale for two bags for $5.00 and apparently they were sold out fast.

I get home open up the bag and take a whiff…Ummm it smells just like a bag of brownies.

I pour some out and I see that they are large for M&M’s and they are very irregular and sort of lumpy in shape. They come in the usual M&M colors yellow, orange, red, brown and blue.

I eat one.

It’s really different……It’s chewy….like a caramel-ee chewy brownie. It really does taste like a brownie….It’s the usual candy shell with the usual chocolate inside and the center is like a lump of chewy brownie….but it feels like it’s mixed with a non sticking caramel.

I eat a few more because they are pretty good tasting.

But the shells are melting in my hand.

HEY WTFork! That is not suppose to happen!

Maybe I got a defective bag?

Well they taste good. Gotta be happy with that.

Worth a try!

My Forking Thoughts on Lay’s Wavy Fried Green Tomato Potato Chips – Worth a Fork!

I haven’t seen new Lay’s Potato Chip flavors in a while and today I noticed three new flavors. One was taco, another was cheddar jalapeño and I also noticed Wavy Fried Green Tomato. The Wavy Fried Green Tomato sounded the most interesting so I picked it up. As soon as I got home with the bag my husband bust it open and started munching them down. He said they weren’t bad. I go and take a sniff.

To me they oddly smell like potato salad.

I eat one.

It has a true tomato taste……It taste like a slice of tomato that is topped with mayonnaise.

I eat a few more..they still seem good to me but I don’t know WTFork I like this? I’d never sit around eating tomatoes with mayonnaise on them. Maybe it’s because they are crunchy and salty and seem pretty true tasting?

Then I try to eat one chip more slowly.

It’s not as good this way because this way I get a mouth of powder and the chip seems greasier this way.

I take a look at the ingredients.

Ingredients don’t seem too unnatural.

These aren’t bad.

For a flavored Lay’s Potato Chip the Wavy Fried Green Tomato Chips are pretty good!

I guess…

My Forking Thoughts on Lay’s Seaweed Potato Chips from Taiwan – Worth a Fork if you like Seaweed and Potato Chips

I was ordering some hard to find pantry items from yummy bazaar and came across some small bags of unusual flavors of Lay’s Potato Chips. Here are the Seaweed Chips. It came in a one and a half ounce size bag. Here’s the back of the bag.

Here’s a closer look at the ingredients.

Not too many ingredients in these potato chips. Potato, vegetable oil, sugar, salt, monosodium glutamate, soy sauce powder, seaweed flakes, seafood seasoning and spices.

I open the bag and take a whiff.

Not much of an aroma….Just smells like potato chips.

Spill some out.

They are speckled and are extra thin and very delicate. They don’t feel very powdery like many of the flavored chips.

At first bite they have very little flavor but they grow with flavor. They taste just like seaweed…it’s like you are eating a thin sheet of nori that is firmer and crisper than usual. They are overly easy to eat because they are so thin and delicate. I think these are the thinnest chips that I have ever eaten.

You get far more flavor in your mouth when you let the chip dissolve in your mouth. You get some sweetness, the soy sauce flavor and other very subtle flavors in the background from the seaweed.

These chips are actually pretty good.

Worth a Fork if you like seaweed and potato chips.

There is always something NEW, WEIRD, Different, Limited and Special Edition out there in the wonderful world of food. I never know what the FORK I’ll come across when I go to a store and here are just a few of the things I came across. Up above is Different Lay’s Flamin Hot Dill Pickle Flavored Chips…..might be good….?…….don’t know?

Different – Lay’s Deep Dish Pizza flavored potato chips….????? I don’t know about this one either????? Can’t say it’s bad till we try it!

Different – Lay’s Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Popper Flavored Potato Chips. Well at least this one sounds interesting……?

Different – Pringles in Memphis BBQ…??????

NEW and Different – Snack Worthy PUFFS in butter toffee and simple cinnamon roll flavors…..?

Different – Signature Selects – Gingerbread Drizzled Popcorn….

NEW – Pringles Wavy Applewood Smoked Cheddar Artificially Flavored Potato Crisps……(Doesn’t sound good…artificially flavored but some Pringles are naturally flavored and do taste good)

Different – from Simply Beyond organic frozen parsley and frozen basil….?

Different and maybe WEIRD – Italian Rose Fresh Cilantro Salsa (Italian Salsa?)

Different – The Foraging Fox Beetroot Ketchup in original and smoked …..(This one sounds REALLY good but it was like $8.00 for a tiny bottle)

NEW – French’s Buffalo Ketchup blended with Frank’s Red-hot Buffalo Wing Sauce…….Might be tasty but Why? I can mix this up myself.

DIFFERENT – 365 Aji Amarillo Ketchup….sounds yummy!

NEW – Koop’s Arizona Heat mustard??????

DIFFERENT – Whole Foods Black Garlic Mayonnaise and Spicy Harissa Mayonnaise

DIFFERENT – Primal Kitchen – Chipotle Lime Mayo with Avocado Oil

NEW – Zesty Z Mediterranean ZA’ATAR condiment and spread…..this one has lots of sesame seeds in it.

NEW – The Maple Guild Barrel Aged Maple Vinegar Fermented Maple Sap from Vermont – Aged in wine barrels. Sounds amazing……might pick up next time.

slightly Different – Pacific Pickle Works AY CUKARAMBAS spicy pickles ….lol

DIFFERENT – Cole’s Mackerel in PIRI-PIRI Sauce…..should have bought them!

DIFFERENT – Miso Master Organic Chick Pea Miso …….???

DIFFERENT – Terra Beautegard Sweets & Fairytale Pumpkin with cinnamon and nutmeg chips….?

DIFFERENT – Rhythm Organic Cauliflower Bites in white cheddar, buffalo ranch and sea salt…might be good?

WEIRD and Different – Cheez-It Crackers in Naturally Flavored Buffalo Wing…???

DIFFERENT – I thought this was a dog snack but it isn’t. Here is Field Trip Spicy Apple Buffalo Style All Natural Chicken Bites….?

WEIRD – Riberidge PUMPKIN SPICE Apple Cider……why Why WHY!

DIFFERENT and maybe NEW – from Flavor Farmer Sierra Honey Specialty Plums…..(might be good?)

WEIRD and NEW – Hostess artificially flavored one cup servings of coffee in Twinkie, sno balls, Ding Dongs and Honey Bun Flavors (ICK!)

NEW – Toll House Simply Delicious 3 ingredient Dark Chocolate Morsels, 3 Ingredient Semi Sweet Morsels and White Morsels…..YUM!

NEW – Mrs Freshley’s Deluxe Hershey’s Swiss Rolls……..????

DIFFERENT – Goya Guava Waffers…….hope the seeds were removed.

NEW – PIXY STIX in cucumber-watermelon, mango-lime and pineapple all with OTHER natural flavors

NEW! – Kelllogg’s Strawberry Krispies…..sounds yummy until I read that it’s flavored with “OTHER” natural flavors….WTFork is other? aardvark farts?

NEW – Mrs Freshley’s Paw Patrol Muffins that are paw shaped with 33% less sugar in Barkin Blueberry……I thought these were dog treats until I read the sugar because dog treats shouldn’t contain sugar.

NEW – POP-Tarts in new cup cake flavors of chocolate cup cake and frosted confetti cup cake…….I don’t know about this……that is like calling a weird flat pie a cake…??????

WEIRD – Snack Pack Artificially Flavored UNICORN * Magic Pudding with Forking Star Dust….NOW WTFork is this? Well I know this one will make you poop a rainbow.

Different – Signature Reserve Ice Creams in Meyer Lemon Bar and Indian Cardamon Pistachio – sounds yummy!

Different – Signature Reserve Brazilian Guava Cheesecake Ice Cream – sure don’t come across that flavor often!

And we are so lucky that there is another NEW Oreo Cookie Flavor out there.

NEW – Nabisco dark chocolate flavor creme Oreo Cookies.

Well that was the NEW, WEIRD, DIFFERENT, LIMITED and SPECIAL EDITION FOODS for January 2020. Who knows WTFork I’ll come across next month?

My Forking Thoughts on Lay’s Roasted Chicken Wing Chips

I came across these Chinese Made Lay’s Potato Chips at one of the Asian Markets so I picked them up to try. The ingredients look safe to eat and I don’t think that there is any actual chicken in the chips.

I was surprised to see Sichuan Pepper as one of the ingredients.

Here is what the back of the bag looks like.

I open up the bag and take a sniff.

This bag isn’t too full.

It smells odd………something like instant soup.

I pour out some chips to try.

They have a powdery exterior and big deep ridges.

I taste one.

It does have a sort of roasted chicken kind of flavor but it is too sweet. It’s more sweet and salty. The chips in the picture are not spicy……But….If I taste a crumb from the bottom of the bag it taste different has more flavor and is spicy. The bottom of bag crumbs are more spicy and soupy tasting and the chips towards the top are milder with a more roasted chicken flavor. These are one of the few chips that make my hand smell. My hands smell like instant soup.

1/2 a Fork…Worth a try! You might like or love them…You might also think they suck!

The Chinese Lay’s Hot Pot Flavor and the cucumber flavors were much more interesting and maybe better than this roasted chicken wing flavor to me. I recommend trying those flavors before the roasted chicken wing flavor. It certainly isn’t bad…..but I wouldn’t try this one again.

My Forking Thoughts on Lay’s Numb and Spicy Hot Pot Flavor Potato Chips

I came across the Numb and Spicy Hot Pot of Lay’s Potato Chips at the Mekong International and Asian Market in Mesa Arizona. I thought that I had to give this interesting flavor of potato chips a try.

The bag looks like this on the back. It’s all in Chinese with a sticker of the ingredients in English.

Here are the ingredients.

It seems safe to eat so I open the bag and take a whiff.

It smells sort of liquorish with other aromas that remind me of fried Chinese Food.

The chips have ridges with a powdery coating. If you look closely you can see little dark specks.

Ok now I taste one….It is hot and spicy. I get mostly spicy hot at first but not too hot. I get spicy, salty and some sweet. It kinda taste like spicy Asian Fish soup. It’s not too fishy but is reminds me of fish essence…that is spicy and is mixed with flavors that are Asian Style. There is an allspice taste. The heat and flavors pass and the allspice builds……… It’s pretty darn good…..If it had less allspice it would be really great!

New WeIRD DifFERent Limited and Special Edition Foods Out There September 2019

There is always something New, Weird, Different, Limited or Special Edition out there in the wonderful world of food. When I go out to a store I never know WTFork I’m going to come across. Up above is NEW – Rolo caramel filled chocolatey cones filled with frozen dairy. Well if these don’t do it for you maybe the next one will?

NEW – KitKat wafer with fudge and chocolate wafer frozen treats!

Don’t worry more stuff is coming.

Look at all these NEW flavors of Dove Chocolate Bars. There’s Dark Chocolate Raspberry Rose’, Dark Chocolate Bourbon Vanilla, Blond Chocolate Salted Caramel and Milk Chocolate Almond Brittle.

We have Dove Truffles too in milk chocolate, dark chocolate and milk chocolate peanut butter…….sound tasty but I passed…..

NEW – Hostess Peanut Butter Totally Nutty Bars …..ummmmm might be tasty?

Super Berries – Dark Chocolate covered GOOSBERRIES! They sound good!

Incase you didn’t know they are doing strange things with rice cakes these days.

Here’s a Celebration Cake that isn’t a baked cake but a rice cake decorated like a birthday cake……I don’t know if this is a good thing or a lousy thing. I guess it’s way less fattening than a slice or real birthday cake? I’m just not too sure about this kit to decorate rice cakes by Crafty Cooking Kits.

If you are Forking OK with the Decorated Celebration Rice Cake then you will jump for joy over this Confetti Donut Crispy Rice Kit by Crafty Cooking Kits.

Maybe Weird….at least Different – Creepini…….I mean Crepini Egg Thins with Cauliflower. I love cauliflower but the sample I tried of this at Costco made me gag and it went in the trash….maybe it wasn’t heated up correctly?

Jackson’s Honest Purple Heirloom potato chips that are slow cooked with coconut oil……Might be good….or might be oil from the slow cooking….Slow cooked potato chips? At least they are honest.

Different! – Osem Bissli Falafel flavored wheat snacks…….Why the Fork not?

Looks like something New – Snack Brigade – Incredi Puffs in Saucilian Pizza Flavor…????

More Snack Brigade Puffs – In Sizzlin Sriracha and Cinnamon Apple Pie…….
Who knows how they taste but the bags look cute.

Lesser Evil Egg White Curls in Egg and Cheese Flavor and Huevos Rancheros Flavor……..Looks like we are eating Egg White Curls for Breakfast these days.

365 Brand Limited Edition Ghost Pepper Cashews……..Get them while they’re hot! Limited Edition! Ghost Pepper!

NEW – Mt Olive portable pickle Munchers in Bread and Butter Flavored, Kosher Dill Flavored and Buffalo Kosher Dill…..? I hope they taste better than the jarred varieties of this brand..????? I remember when people used to purchase pickles from the barrels in the grocery store in front of the deli. Those pickles actually use to taste good…..over 90% of the jarred pickles I’ve tried are horrible.

Different and maybe New Sam’s Choice Hot Mango Habanero Pickle Chips…..This one might also be weird.

Now for a little more pickling…..

Zatarain’s Whole Grain Blends Mango and Habanero Brown Rice and Quinoa mix…..Might be good?

Weird – Now they’ve ruined cherries. Cherries can’t taste like cherries anymore. Roland has made passion fruit flavored cherries.

Sliced Jicama is sold as tortillas now.

Different and maybe Weird – Maybe you have arthritis or carpal tunnel and can’t pick up a chewy soft watermelon slices.

Here’s General Mills Drumstick in Classic Vanilla Flavor????? Who it might be good?….Or maybe a good as an ice cream topping?

Drumstick mint chocolate cereal by General Mills…..? Who knows…..It might taste good?……

Also by General Mills is Hershey’s Cookies n Creme Fillows creme filled cereal……..(this one sounds really gross to me)……

NEW – POP tarts Cereal in Strawberry, Brown Sugar Cinnamon and Cookies and Cream……It’s all fun and games till some Moran tries to toast them in the toaster.

LIMITED EDITION – Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes in Banana Creme flavor…..I don’t know….What would Tony say?

Again by General Mills is Mermaid Cereal…? …….This sounds fishy……….Is it cereal made for mermaids?…………Or is it fish flavored cereal?………Yuck green dead looking fish in cereal just doesn’t look appetizing.

From the ground up – Cauliflower Pretzels…..(these I tried)…….(maybe my bag was defective…because it smelled and tasted like bitter rotten broccoli)…….

My Forking Thoughts on White Chocolate Pumpkin Pie M&M’s – WTFORK it tastes like……….

These White Chocolate Pumpkin Pie M&M’s were out perviously (last fall or the fall before I forget) but this is one flavor I skipped. I thought I’d try them this year.

I start by opening the bag and taking a whiff.

I see that I got lots of broken pieces of M&M’s all over.

They are mostly larger and slightly irregular in shape….compared to standard M&M’s. They come in colors of white, orange and a brown that looks just like dog doo colored.

Now I smell them.

It smells familiar………sort of like a spice cookie but with sour cream cheese frosting.

I taste one…this is kinda gross………It’s really greasy……Maybe I just got a bad batch…..or maybe these spoiled in the truck making its way to 110 degree F Phoenix.

This taste like FORKING greasy artificial GINGER BREAD with molasses and sour cream cheese frosting.

This doesn’t taste like Pumpkin Pie.

I wonder if this flavor was concocted from other leftover flavors?

I don’t know WTFork they’ve done here but I imagine that it could be possible that I am tasting some sort of carrot cake flavor that is possibly mixed with gingerbread.

This one just doesn’t taste good.

There’s an unpleasant after taste from this one.

BLECH! These are sickening!…….and they are greasy gross.

On the bright side I know that I am not going to gain any weight from these M&M’s.

I have to give these White Chocolate Pumpkin Pie M&M’s a Not Worth a Fork!
