Asian Wok is a small very casual American/Chinese Restaurant that also offers a few Thai Dishes located in the North/West part of Las Vegas Nevada.
You order and pay at the counter and do take out or grab a seat in the dining room. It’s not a fancy place but it seems clean.
They start you off with some crispy noodles with duck sauce.
So far we tried –
Pork Egg Rolls
My husband said that these pork egg rolls are very good but did have to ask for mustard for dipping. Most Chinese Restaurants here serve spring rolls instead of egg rolls.
Szechwan Chicken – Delicious, full of flavors and lots of fresh vegetables, tender infused chicken with a nice kick……….Not flat and sweet like most places serve.
Black Pepper Beef – Nice tender beef with that black pepper taste.
Ginger Scallion Flounder – delicious and the flounder was cooked so darn perfect. Also a very large serving that can feed two.
Spicy Chicken Shrimp – Nicely prepared chicken and shrimp that was flavorful with a nice heat
Asian Wok is the Best American/Chinese We’ve found so far in Vegas and is Worth a Fork!
Bistro 57 is an American Italian Inspirated Restaurant and Bar located in the Aliante Hotel/Casino in North Las Vegas NV.
Enter here
To the right is the bar area.
Or a little further down the hall is plenty of seating.
I’ve been here at least 4 times and the bread basket was never good but on my last visit the bread basket was even worst. This bread just tastes artificial with an artificial texture…….Kinda like bread dough mixed with chemicals and styrofoam.
3 out of 4 visits I had the Flounder Francese and it was reasonably good on all my visits.
3 out of 4 visits my husband had the rigatoni with sausage and that too was reasonably good.
On our 4th visit we both tried the specials.
The Snapper Florentine looks different from photo.
It’s so overcooked that you need a steak knife to cut it. Our server didn’t check on us till I ate most of the vegetables that weren’t so great because they seemed like old leftovers that were reheated. I told her that the snapper was over cooked. She did offer to get me something else but I didn’t want my husband to stop eating plus I lost most of my appetite from this mediocre dish.
My husband’s Pork Parmesan was also over cooked.
He didn’t complain because he said this kind of pork is usually over cooked.
Shared some pistachio ice cream.
The Pistachio Ice Cream was ok.
Bistro 57 – Some Things are Reasonably Good and other things Not So Good.
Moia Peruvian Restaurant is located in the historic West Side of Las Vegas Nevada not too far from the Las Vegas Strip. They offer MANY appetizers of all sorts of things. A few of the appetizers are – Beef heart, Mussels, Fried Fish, Crab, Calamari, Hamachi, Yucca Huancaina. And also many Ceviches (marinated raw fish). Main Plates are fish and seafood, chicken, beef, fried rice plates, and large sharing plates. They offer beer and wine and at least one Peruvian Mixed Drink. Inside is an exotic atmosphere.
There’s neon. You see wild big cats on the wall. There’s interesting fixtures too.
We started out by trying the Peruvian Sour Cocktails.
They are fruity and have a passionfruit base. They also have a tiny marble inside that is a small light inside that you shouldn’t accidentally swallow.
We shared the Ceviche De Pescado (marinated fish with sweet potatoes, Peruvian Corn, Onion Salsa, some sort of seeds or nuts?, and a plantain chip)
You do have your choice of heat with this dish and I picked medium. They gave us creamy green and creamy spicy orange salsa to kick it up more.
For my main I tried the Pescado Plancha.
it’s a mild white fish filets that were cooked on the plancha. It came with lemon, sweet potatoes, onion salsa, rice, and some Peruvian corn. I embellished it with a small amount of spicy orange salsa and some of the green salsa. (It’s a GREAT BIG plate of food for only $17.) ((Subject to change)).
My husband tried the Lomo Saltado Pobre (New York Strip with eggs).
The plate also included rice, fried plantains, onions, and tomato strips. The steak was tender and flavorful.
Dining Out With DOGS is just a “FLUFF” story about taking my dogs out to eat. It all sort of started with my late dog Louie. Dear Old Louie always enjoyed going out to eat. When Louie got elderly he got diagnosed with aggressive cancer. We were told that Louie probably only had three months to live or maybe six at the most. Since Louie couldn’t do a lot but still enjoyed going out to eat I took him out to eat as often as I could. Instead of the 3-6 months Louie made it another 17 months. Today I take my current dogs out to eat when the weather is right and when I can.
The Weather is just turning nice here and we took the dogs to SNS Diner BBQ. If they seem familiar to you then maybe you saw them on Food Network’s Diners Drive-ins and Dives TV Show.
The dogs enjoyed some of my husband’s Philly Brisket Sandwich.
They also got to eat some of my (made in house) Pastrami Sandwich.
Dogs happen to love pastrami.
They always love SNS Diner BBQ

We also took the dogs to the California Fish Grill.
They ate some of my husband’s Cajun Maui Maui.
Some of his Shrimp Skewer
Some Parmesan Green Beans
and Some of my Mediterranean Branzino Bowl
She is eating a green bean
He is eating some fish here.
The dogs enjoyed three kinds of fish, parmesan green beans, and zucchini today from The California Fish Grill.

We also did take out from Hawaiian Barbecue. They happen to have a community patio only two doors down. My husband got a #4 Bento Box. All the proteins are terribly dry today.
Same with this coconut chicken…..BAH……but these dogs don’t mind.
“This chicken is stringy and dry today. Some pieces areas hard as rocks”
“I got nice big fangs” I can bite threw anything”

It almost was too cold again but we made it to The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill because their patio faces the sun. We usually get salad rice bowls. I got mine with salmon and my husband got his with gyro meat. Got lucky and the salmon was cooked really perfect today….The gyro was on the dry side but it usually is sort of dry.
The dogs get to eat chickpeas, cucumbers, salmon, and gyro meat.
We did A-OK at The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill.

Shuck’s Tavern Gaming & Oyster Bar has two locations in Las Vegas Nevada. They are open twenty four hours a day and are open seven days a week. The North/West Centennial Location offers bar seating, booths, and traditional tables inside.
They offer all your bar dinks, a traditional American Menu, and of course OYSTERS, shellfish, and a seafood heavy menu.
We started out by trying Cadillac Margaritas.
They don’t taste traditional to me but they really are so strong that they can LIFT WEIGHTS!
For my main I tried the grilled haddock that comes with mixed vegetables and wild rice blend.
It’s nothing fancy or original but everything is prepared perfect and seems fresh. It’s also a very large portion and is two meals for some people. It sure is worth the reasonable $19.99 that it cost today. (subject to change)
My husband tried the Jambalaya.
It came with your choice of rice or pasta and cheesy garlic toast. My husband said that it is good and flavorful. All the fish was cooked nicely but wasn’t spicy as he likes but is still good. He already wants to come back to try more.
Shuck’s Tavern Gaming & Oyster Bar is Worth a Try!
SK Seafood Restaurant is a casual Cantonese Style Seafood Restaurant located in the Chinatown Area of Las Vegas Nevada. They offer a large menu of appetizers, soups, delicacies like abalone and sea cucumber, live seafood, many proteins, tofu, vegetables, and claypot.
English is the second language here. They have some sort of Chinese Food Network on the big screen TV, They were cooking brains and some sort of stomach.
they serve everyone a hot pot of tea to go with your food. I noticed a few other bottled beverages are served here.
We started out by sharing the cold cucumbers.
They are light and refreshing.
We have to try something seafood so we tried the stir fried fish filet with assorted mushrooms.
It’s a large plate for sharing with a lot of mushrooms and perfectly cooked fish. I enjoyed most of the mushrooms but one type came out very hard and was difficult to eat. There are chunks of ginger that are explosive…..LIKE A BOMB……….I think it would be much better (FOR MY TASTE) if the ginger was chopped fine or ground.
We also shared the Cantonese Chicken.
This one taste amazing (The chicken is well infused with flavors and was tender) but it is extremely difficult to eat because it’s made up of end pieces of TINY chicken with skin and bone on each piece with only a morsel of meat……It looks like much more but you are looking at a lot of rubbery chicken skin……..I think it’s a total of maybe only two ounces of chicken meat.
That was my trip to SK Seafood Restaurant

Rebellion Pizza is a casual Pizza Shop with two locations in Nevada. One is in Henderson and the second location is in the Northwest Part of Las Vegas that is called Centennial. They offer what they call New York Style and Sicilian Style. The Las Vegas (Centennial) location is small and casual. They have a sort of space theme going on with traditional tables and half booths. Soft beverages, wine, and beer is available.
We started out by sharing some Burrata Bake.It comes with fresh baked focaccia.
It’s fun and kinda like a deconstructed pizza. You grab a triangle of focaccia and spoon on a rich tomato sauce and gooey melted burrata cheese. This is fun and tasty. I think most people would like it.
We also shared a small Roma Pizza.
The crust is thin with a nice crispy bottom and they use a good quality cheese. The pesto looks good but has little flavor and the tomatoes aren’t so ripe. I would recommend getting a different pizza.
We enjoyed the Burrata Bake and would recommend it.
Habanero’s Taco Grill is a group of casual Mexican Restaurants with (at the moment subject to change) with eleven locations in Nevada (10 Las Vegas). They offer a wide variety of Mexican Food on the menu. They offer twenty six different combo plates, taco salads, super combos, a birria menu, all day breakfast, wings, soft beverages, and much more. You can dine inside but I noticed that most people do take out here. Outside is one table and one bench.
It’s very casual. You order and pay at the counter.
They run your order to you when it’s ready. You can embellish your meal with salsas and pickled vegetables from the salsa bar at the end of the counter. (guacamole was an extra side order)
We tried a few plates.
Carne Asada Taco
Fish Tacos
Combo #14 – Green Chile Pork Plate – Tonight the pork was very good. (My husband thought this pork was the best he has tasted in Nevada so far. The rest was reasonably good.
Portions are large and prices are very reasonable.
Chabelitas Mexican Grill is a very casual 24/7 Mexican Restaurant with three locations in Las Vegas Nevada. The #3 Craig Road location does not serve alcohol but does have many signs for beer so either beer is coming or the signs are confusing.
It’s a very casual place. You order and pay at the counter and seat yourself. Someone runs the food out when it’s ready.
I tried the Birria Ramen.
It is packed with a generous amount of Birria that is tender.
BUT-
It’s a FORKING SALT BOMB. I can’t eat it.
I do note that I might be more sensitive to salt than most people. My husband who not sensitive to salt tries this. He said that it is also too salty for him and he can not eat this bowl either so it indeed is not edible.
My husband got the Beef Burrito with Cheese Enchilada Combo.
They give you limes, green sauce, and red sauce to embellish the plate. My husband didn’t say much about this plate. He said that the red sauce was very spicy, the beans were very loose, and the cheese in the cheese enchilada was hard and not melty.
My husband was very thoughtful and ordered a fish taco for me because he had a feeling that I wouldn’t like the Birria Ramen here.
The fish taco isn’t bad. It’s breaded and fried mild tasting white fish. The taco is sauced with a tasty creamy chipotle sauce. It’s also stuffed with Mexican Rice and sits in double shelled white tortillas. It’s very filling for a taco.
Chabelita’s might be on the very average side but it’s open 24 hours 7 days a week.
