Tony’s Mexican Food is a Mexican Restaurant with three locations in Las Vegas Nevada. The North Las Vegas Location offers breakfast, a very wide assortment of Mexican favorites, a child’s menu, desserts, soft beverages, beer, margaritas, and more!
For our first visit we tried take out.
We took out a carnitas burrito with red and green sauce on the side.
A Chile relleno with sauce on the side.
and two fish soft tacos with a half avocado on the side.
Everything was packaged nicely. Everything was prepared reasonably well and everything was tasty.
It was difficult to pick one notable dish of the week since Safta really killed it with three notable dishes this week. The hummus could have been the notable dish simply because of it’s high quality taste and texture that you seldom get anywhere. Also the dessert sampler called Safta’s Delights is great enough to the notable dish. I went with the Salatim Platter that is a bunch of dips, spreads, vegetables, and fresh milled fluffy wheat pita because it was full of many delicious tastes and textures that are amazing. I really think just about anyone out there would love this platter.
The Salatim Platter
It’s one of the best, most delicious plates that you can find on the Las Vegas Strip.

Eureka Discover American Craft has a location on Fremont Street in Las Vegas Nevada. This is a casual American Bar and Restaurant. It’s part of the El Cortez Hotel/Casino that is across the street. They offer things like burgers, fried chicken, snacks, salads, desserts, beer, small batch whiskeys, and cocktails. It’s woody and dark but not too dark inside.
We started out by sharing the Mac-N-Cheese Balls.
They are fried nicely and have a thin shattering crisp exterior. On the side is modern ranch dressing (modern means doesn’t taste like buttermilk). They have a nice kick to them from some a chili pepper but also have a Velveeta type taste too.
For my main I had the Al Pastor Tacos.
I got three well packed street sized tacos that are single shelled with a side of arugula salad. The fish (maui maui) isn’t fish house quality but does taste very good with the pineapple and addition of tomatillo sauce. It’s a very tasty platter.
My husband tried the BBQ Bacon Burger.
It’s pretty good. They prepared the burger medium-rare and they didn’t over cook the bacon. But they over cooked the bun on the one end.
Buenos Dias Mexican Eatery is a casual order and pay at the counter type of restaurant located in North Las Vegas Nevada. They offer breakfast tacos, breakfast burritos and breakfast bowls. They also offer ten varieties of tacos, bowls, burritos, and quesadillas. Soft beverages are available here.
They do offer a variety of seating options. They have traditional tables, booths, counter seating, bar seating, and outside is a community patio.
The food is fresh made to order so it takes a while.
The rice and beans came out first. They were garnished with chips.
safta 1964 by Alon Shaya is a very nice Mediterranean Restaurant by James Bread Award Wining Chef Alon Shaya. This restaurant is located in the Encore part of the Wynn Hotel/Casino on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada.
The notable “MUST GET DISHES” are –
The Chef’s Salatim Platter full of dips, spreads, vegetables……
The Salatim Platter comes with hot fluffy pita bread and a lot of delicious side dishes such as Luenitsa (our fav. made eggplant and red pepper), Labneh, Smoked Trout Roe with Cream Cheese, Pickled Vegetables, Lima Beans, Baba Ganoush, Caramelized Tomato Olive Tapanade, & Candied Almonds.
You also must get the hummus because it is by far the best I’ve tasted in Nevada…….
You also must get The Safta’s Delights for Dessert.
Three of each ultra mini pistachio baklava, marble halvah, chocolate cake, blueberry rugelach, mini lemon tart.
The Salatim Platter, The Hummus, & the Safta’s Delights from Safta 1964 by Alon Shaya are among the most notable Las Vegas Strip dishes from Restaurants to get and are Worth a Fork!

The Marlin Taco from Mariscos El Ancia is the first one that I have tasted that taste the same as Marlin Tacos I’ve tried in Jalisco Mexico. It just has the right taste. The right amount of smoke. It also comes dressed with the same sauce. It’s also generous in size and also is delicious.
The Marlin Taco from Mariscos El Ancla is the Notable Dish of The Week and is Worth a Fork!

I have not found a website and have not found them on Facebook.
Cheba Hut is a group of hoagie restaurants with somewhere around fifty locations in the United States. The Newly Opened North Las Vegas Location offers 26 hoagies on your choice of white, wheat, or garlic herb bread. They offer a variety of different meats and also some vegetarian options. Besides hoagies a few of the other things they offer are things like French Onion Soup, cups of meatballs, pretzel nuggets, and cookies. This location offers soft beverages, beer, and spirts.
It’s casual. You order and pay at the counter and seat yourself.
There is a bar in the corner. Lots of natural light fills the room during the day.
The atmosphere is LOUD with music. A combination of hip hop, rap, and Reggie is what we heard today.
The sandwiches come in small medium or large or as a salad.
I tried a small tuna melt on wheat called the Pacific Blue (tuna salad, cheddar, lettuce tomato onion, pickle, house dressing)
I didn’t get my tomato slice but the rest is pretty good.
My husband tried the medium sized La Canna on white bread (smoked ham, Genoa salami, prosciutto, olive, provolone, lettuce, tomato, pickle, shake and house dressing)
His sandwich is also missing the tomato but it is still pretty good.
Mariscos El Ancla is a Nayarit Mexican Style Seafood Restaurant in North Las Vegas Nevada. They offer a variety of shellfish, ceviches, tostadas, fried fish chips, soups, fajitas, and many different seafood platters.
It’s not a fancy place but it seems clean.
Whatever you order they start you off with complimentary chips and extra hot but very good salsa.
They have a few bottles of hot sauces on the table for embellishing the food. I never saw this interesting and different Mexican Hot Sauce for Seafood.
It has radish, sardines, and chiltepin chili in it.
We start out by sharing a marlin taco.
Oh wow it’s really great! It does actually taste just like marlin tacos that I tried in Jalisco Mexico. I tasted bunches of marlin tacos at various Mexican restaurants in Phoenix and none of them compare to this one. The fish is smoked just right. It looks just like what I had in Mexico. The chipotle sauce is just right too.
For my main I tried the salmon a la plancha.
It’s a large filet of salmon that has been prepared reasonably well. The plate also includes unseasoned steamed vegetables, corn and pea studded white rice, and also is garnished with lettuce and cucumber slices. It’s kind-a very plain for Mexican Food. It’s more like a double sized weight watchers meal.
Moving on
My husband tried the shrimp in medium/hot red sauce (camarones rojo). (this plate also comes with rice and beans that were forgotten but brought out quickly once we mentioned it to our server)
This plate is good but difficult to enjoy for some people.
The sauce is good and the shrimp are cooked nicely…but…….
The whole shrimp contain digestive tracks and shells……..that are hard to clean in the sauce.
I think some people just eat the digestive tracks and shells?
The shrimp dishes aren’t for everyone.
Great Marlin Tacos!
