Dining With DOGS in Las Vegas NV – July 2025

Dining with dogs is a “FLUFF” story and is usually about taking my dogs out to eat. It all sort of started with my late dog Louie. He always enjoyed going out to eat. When he got elderly poor Louie came down with aggressive cancer. We were told that Louie only had 3-maybe 6 months to live. Since Louie enjoyed going out to eat I took him out to eat as often as possible. Instead of his 3-6 month diagnosis Louie made it another 17 months. Today I take my current dogs out to eat when I can and when the weather is right.

At the end of June we got lucky and had one cooler afternoon so the dogs got to go to the California Fish Grill.

The dogs got to eat branzino, parmesan green beans, feta cheese, fried fish, and fried shrimp today. (the Brussels sprouts had balsamic so I couldn’t give them to dogs. Anything grape and anything vinegar is harmful to dogs)

We always enjoy the California Fish Grill.

Then it got HOT and the dogs got a car ride to In-N-Out Burger. The Giant Aussie got so excited she smacked the Beagle Mix dog out of his seat so she could watch the In-N-Out action.

It was boarder line hot (89F) So I thought I could feed them quickly on the shaded patio.

We were buying bagels at NY Bagel N Bakery and I noticed on the counter some TastyKakes and some house made DOG Biscuits for sale so I purchased the dog biscuits and some bagels.

It seemed like they enjoyed the dog biscuits.

It’s still too hot to dine out with dogs so we gave them a car ride to pick up a Five Guys Cheeseburger. (plain no bun)

Of course they enjoyed this.

They always enjoy a Five Guys Cheese burger

Very Hot this week so it was In-N-Out again.

Too hot for the patio so we brought it home.

The dogs always enjoy a ride with cheese burgers.

That was Doing with DOGS for July 2025. We hope that you’ve enjoyed and we hope to see you next month.

A Big TASTE of The Black Sheep – Las Vegas NV – Worth a Fork!

The Black Sheep is a Modern Vietnamese/American full service restaurant and bar located about fifteen minutes past the Las Vegas Strip in Las Vegas Nevada. This restaurant is by Chef Jamie Tran who was a former BRAVO TOP CHEF contestant and also was Eater Las Vegas 2017 Chef of the year.

Below is Chef Jamie Tran at the bar helping out.

Below is a BIG TASTE of The Black Sheep….I do note that the menu changes some from time to time.

The Salmon Skin Tacos are usually offered on the menu and are usually amazing.

Often the Bao Sliders with house made sausage are on the menu. My husband said that these are delicious.

hamachi crudo

I thought this version of the Hamachi Crudo was amazing.

The latest version of the Hamachi is very good not amazing like the other version but still very good.

June 2025 Hamachi Crudo

New appetizer Oxtail Empanada was very good and came with delicious pickled cabbage.

Above are the Oxtail Empanadas

Haiya Chicken

The Short Rib is often on the menu

Boneless crispy trout

I had the signature boneless crispy rainbow trout six times already. 4 of the 6 were crispy.

On my June 2025 visit the fish was indeed crispy and looked like this –

ai Pazzi – Las Vegas NV – Worth a Fork!

ai Pazzi is a very nice Italian Restaurant located in the Rampart Casino/Hotel in the Summerlin part of Las Vegas Nevada. This restaurant is brought to you by celebrity chef Fabio Viviani.

Inside it’s rich, airy and modern.

Whatever you order they start you off with delicious house made focaccia that’s embellished with olive oil, rosemary, and grated cheese.

They also offer a few wines blended by the chef.

We tried the arancini (fried rice balls)

Here they are a little different and are vegetarian with a cheese center and sit in a pecorino cheese sauce.

For my main I tried the branzino.

I got a very generous amount of meaty fish that’s prepared to perfection and comes with a nicely grilled lemon. The salad is made of very fresh bitter young greens. The dressing really pops. I think because it’s made with an unusual vinegar that is very tasty.

We planned to share charred broccolini. We were getting kinda full so we brought it home.

My husband enjoyed the Pollo Scarpariello.

He said it was all very good but especially enjoyed the house made sausage in the dish.

We also enjoyed the lemon ricotta cake.

And they surprised us with a celebration dessert plate.

It was a sweet ending to a wonderful dinner.

Lindo Michoacan at Palace Station – Las Vegas NV – Not The Best

Lindo Michoacan is a group of Mexican Restaurants and Bars with four locations around Las Vegas Nevada. The food and menus of the locations differs. I do note that I had a good experience at the Centennial location.

The location at Place Station has a bar and a couple dining areas that are made of traditional tables, booths, and half booths.

They start you off with complimentary spicy chips here, a red spicy sauce, and soft whipped beans. (different from Centennial location)

I hate to be honest but I have to tell The FORKING Truth…..This is the worst salsa that I’ve ever tasted anywhere. It’s like tomato puree mixed with a very hot chemical…..Not hot peppers…like something chemical. No cilantro, no onions….just horrible. It burns and isn’t good at all. THIS IS SHOCK because the salsa at the Centennial Location was good.

Next come the Fideo Soup that comes with most entrees.

The dominate flavor is TABLE SALT. (I can’t eat this…….my husband is more tolerate of salt…he can eat it but said that it is salty. So it is salty….Later when we got home he kept drinking water saying he was so thirsty from probably that salty soup)

My main was the Pollo A La Naranja Becky (Spicy Mexican Orange Chicken but with vegetables instead of rice and beans)

They gave THREE pounded chicken breasts that are in a mild slightly orange sauce. There are suppose to be jalapeños in the dish but they didn’t make it to this plate. The vegetables on the side are ok……This also came with corn tortillas that seem hand made but are thick as pita breads.

My husband tried the Chile Relleno Camaron (Shrimp and Pepper)

He said that the shrimp didn’t taste fresh and thought it was odd that the pepper was flat on the plate and topped with the shrimp.

The Bootlegger Italian Bistro – Las Vegas NV – Famous Old School Italian Restaurant – Worth a Fork!

The Bootlegger Italian Bistro is a famous multi award wining Old School Italian Restaurant and ,bar, that also offers banquets, catering, gaming, nightclub, and entertainment. As soon as you enter you see various photos of celebrities that dined here.

Most of the dining rooms are red and are lined with more celebrity photos.

Here is part of the bar area.

We got seated in the Steve & Eydie Booth.

We ordered and they started us off with well seasoned bread with garlic and tasty red sauce on the side. They told us that we could have all the bread we want.

For my main I ordered the lunch sized Pollo Angelo.

It’s chicken breast in a sherry wine lemon caper sauce with artichokes, mushrooms, olives, and red peppers. It comes with fettuccini Alfredo on the side.

My husband ordered the Veal Saltimbocca.

It’s veal layered with Genoa salami, hot capicola and cheese and it’s dipped in egg batter and sauteed in sherry wine and mushroom sauce. Fettuccini Alfredo is on the side.

Everything was good and we were too full to try dessert.

Below is list of their awards.

Trattoria Nakamura-Ya – Tokyo Style Italian – Las Vegas NV – Worth a try!

Trattoria Nakamura-Ya is a Tokyo Style Italian Restaurant and that means if you are in Japan this is what you’d find if you are looking for an Italian Restaurant. This restaurant is small with limited seating inside. They are small but we did notice that they serve wine.

Awards grace the wall.

My husband started out with what they call spring rolls.

He thought the spring rolls seemed like they were tempura dipped. He thought they were cheese sticks with a little bit of Italian lunch meat in them.

I went with the lunch special –

I got a platter of Chicken Tatsuta-age, Chicken Katsu, Grilled Mackerel, Salad, and my choice of rice or bread and I went with rice.

I prefer the katsu (fried sliced chicken on ends of plate) over the tatsuta-age because it’s much more tender (dark meat) and is much more flavorful. The mackerel seems fresh but it is a strong tasting fish. The Salad seems very fresh but is kinda plain. The rice also tastes freshly made.

My husband tried the Pork Loin Tonkatsu made from that special Canadian refined red meat pork called Mugifusi. It also came with freshly prepared mixed vegetables.

So far what we tried was reasonably good.

I hope to return to try a pasta dish and fresh flown in fish from Japan.
