My FORKING Thoughts on Kettle Chili Crisp Potato Chips

I had to try this bag of Kettle Chili Crisp Potato Chips so I picked it up at my local grocery store.

I am familiar with all kinds of Chili Crisp. I made a few myself – Basically Chili Crisp was originally a Spicy Chinese Condiment that added flavors, heat, and textures to food. (the below chili crisps, and food recipes can be found here in the search.

Cabbage and Chilli Crisp Dumplings

FORKING Delicious Corn Salad made with Italian Chili Crisp

Anyways back to the chips.

I open the bag and take a whiff….It doesn’t really smell like anything I know……maybe a wet potato smell that is mixed with oil and seasonings?

The chips are also all small and very thin and covered with some powder.

The ingredients look OK so I let one dissolve in my mouth.

It’s spicy but doesn’t taste like chili crisp to me.

It tastes very different when you just eat them……….More like spicy BBQ chips. With a little sweetness to them.

Not bad or awful but also not exciting. Just OK.

Those were my FORKING Thoughts on Kettle Chili Crisp Potato Chips your Forking thoughts may indeed differ.

Nom Pang Sandwiches (and More!) – Las Vegas NV – Cambodian Cuisine – Different, Tasty, Inexpensive – Worth a Try!

Nom Pang Sandwiches is a casual (order at the counter) Cambodian Restaurant located in the North/West part of Las Vegas Nevada. Nom Pang is the Cambodian name for a sandwich made with a lighter crisp rice flour baguette. It is dressed with either a mayonnaise (depending on the variety) or pork spread. Then a choice of filling that is topped with pickled vegetables, jalapeños, and cilantro.

Pork Belly Nom Pang (The BBQ Chicken Nom Pang looks the same)

They also offer Spicy Lemongrass Chicken Vermicelli Bowls (pictured below)(my favorite so far)

Or maybe you might like to try the Cambodian Chicken Curry?

They also offer Pork Belly with Egg and Rice with Seasonal Pickled Vegetables.

They also offer daily specials-

The food is tasty and is also very inexpensive.

FOODS That YOU Can Make Too!

Nearly all the recipes or variations of the recipes can be found here. (www.TheFORKINGTruth.com)

Up top are potato and cheese pierogi that I fried in butter. (You are suppose to eat them boiled the first day, 2nd day sautéed with caramelized onions.) But for a crowd I think they are best fried so they are finger food.

Pistachio and Chocolate & Hazelnut rolled Cookies

Crispy tasty Potato Puffs (Potato, cream cheese, butter, seasonings filled fried wonton wrappers)

Asian Inspired 5 Spice Turkey Meatballs with Hoisin Sauce

My famous chipotle rice, cheddar, corn, potato string wrapped peppers

Crackers (bread crisps) with taleggio , home made pesto, tomato and smaller crackers with mild green chili cream cheese that I piped into roses.

These were some Foods that YOU can make too!

My FORKING Thoughts on Reese’s PB&J Strawberry Jam Big Cup

The Reese’s PB&J cups come in strawberry jam and grape jam. I picked the strawberry jam because the grape one says right on the front artificially flavored so I thought the strawberry would be better? It’s marked U and D so it doesn’t contain any Castoreum so it’s safe to eat.

It looks different than the picture.

LOL – I thought the top would be embellished with peanut butter and jam.

I cut in half and I see the strawberry jam is near the bottom of the cup.

I try some.

It tastes mostly like a Reese’s Cup.

The strawberry jam doesn’t bring much to it.

It’s not terrible but the jam is a waste because it doesn’t have much flavor to it. It’s just there to give you less Reese’s.

Those were my FORKING Thoughts on Reese’s PB&J Strawberry Jam Big Cups. Your FORKING opinion may indeed differ.

Dining With DOGS June 2025

Dining With DOGS is Just a “FLUFF” Story and is usually about taking my dogs out to eat. It sort of started with my late dog Louie. He always enjoyed going out to eat and when he got elderly he came down with aggressive cancer. His doctor said he probably only had three months to live or possibly up to 6 months. Since Louie couldn’t do much and still enjoyed eating out I took him out to eat as often as possible and Louie made it another 17 months. Today I take my current dogs out to eat when I can and when the weather is right.

We got lucky and had a cooler day and went to SNS Diner BBQ. If they seem familiar to you then maybe you saw them on Food Network’s Diners Drive Ins and Dives.

The Dogs got to eat some of my husband’s three meat plate (bbq pork, bbq brisket, sausage, and some macaroni and cheese. (later they will get some cornbread with honey butter)

They also got some chicken from my chicken tacos and the cheese on the side from my chicken tacos.

They always enjoy SNS Diner BBQ

We had a day under 90 degrees so we tried the Hawaiian Barbecue #1 again. It was reasonably good our first 6 visits and then last time we thought it was just a bad day but tried them again hoping they’d be good again.

I got my usual maui maui healthier salad.

It’s mostly edible but not so good today. It’s very greasy with dried up fish. It has grease dropped all over the salad, fish, and egg.

The egg also has a blue stain on it.

I’m afraid to eat it and am also afraid to give my dogs but I only give them a little bit of the fish.

“UGGG! Not so good”

“Guess we won’t be returning”

Now it’s hot here so we took the dogs for a car ride to get an In-N-Out Cheeseburger.

“We enjoy the car ride and will be enjoying a cheeseburger soon!”

“tear me off a piece”

“Here it comes”

“My turn”

“I’m waiting”

“We’ll be doing lots of In-N-Out this summer”

www.In-N-Out.com

It was too hot to dine out with dogs so today they got a car ride and a Burger King Burger.

They look excited to get a cheeseburger…..We added the cheese from home because the cheese pulls off the Burger when we remove the bread for the dogs.

Dogs got another ride to Burger King and got another burger.

We did take out from Nom Pang (a Cambodian Restaurant) so the dogs could get another car ride and eat some of the food.

Korean Style Fried Chicken VS Thai Red Curry Lay’s Potato Chips – An EASY Winner

Fun NEW Limited Edition Lay’s Potato Chip Flavors recently came out and two of them I had to try.

One is – Korean Style Fried Chicken (Wavy)

The Other is – Thai Style Red Curry

One taste FORKING AMAZING and the other is over seasoned powdery and weird.

Sadly the loser is Korean Style Fried Chicken.

It taste like mostly too much paprika, dry garlic, dry onion, and a sort of burnt chicken taste, maybe with other flavors. It doesn’t really taste like food. It tastes like seasoning mix that you’d add to something but with a burnt chicken kind of taste.

The “WINNER” by a long shot is clearly the Thai Style Red Curry. GOSH AND YUM! this one is delicious! Even the actual chips taste better and taste like potato chips that were dipped into actual Thai Red Curry.

The “WINNER” by a long shot!

FORKING Thoughts on Kitchen Aid Stand Mixers

According to EVERYONE on the internet Kitchen Aid Stand Mixers are by far the best that any home cook can buy. I had mine around 15 or so years and noticed that it seems to make noises and gets so hot I think it might catch on fire. I read that the average age for a Ktchen Aid Mixer to last is about 15 years so maybe I’m due to replace it.

Recently I noticed that Kitchen Aid Mixers were on sale at Costco so I picked out a new one. When I picked it up I noticed that it isn’t as heavy as my old one……..?

I made a batch of dough and I wanted it to mix for ten minutes.

Then after 4 minutes it stopped.

I tried a few more times to start it up.

I returned it back to Costco. I still have my old Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer. Maybe it will work a few more times?

Sushi Neko – AYCE Las Vegas NV – Very Good Rolls – Good Selection of Fish- Not so good chicken – Worth a Try!

Sushi Neko is an all you can eat sushi restaurant in Chinatown in Las Vegas Nevada. It might be confusing to some to find this particular restaurant because they also have Neko Sushi Supreme a few doors down that opens an hour latter. They also have Neko Ramen next door and a new Neko (I think called Neko Snack) is opening up next to Neko Sushi Supreme. They are similar to the other all-you-can-eat sushi places but do offer a larger variety of fish than the all-you-can-eats outside of Chinatown.

Anyways –

We started out with –

Red Snapper Nigiri

Salmon Belly, Tuna, and Yellow Tail Nigiri

Fish was reasonably good in all the nigiri but the rice is over seasoned and loose and wet.

Chicken Karaage – unseasoned and hard chicken and tough like a car tire.

Salmon Collar – slightly over cooked but ok

Hawaiian Roll – BEST OF WHAT I TRIED HERE

spicy tuna, cucumber, tuna, avocado, spicy garlic ponzu

Spicy Tuna Roll – very good

Beef Bulgogi – infused with good flavors but all dried out

Shishito Pepper Skewers – Tasty and good!

Pork Belly – not the best

Ama Ebi – sweet raw shrimp

Sausage – slightly overdone but ok

Fried banana with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Cheap ice cream but ok

Well you get your money’s worth here.

Worth a Try!
