A Peak of With Love Always (Smash Burger & Custard) Las Vegas NV

With Love Always is a casual Smash Burger and soft frozen Custard Shop with a few locations in Vegas. They offer a very basic menu of burgers, a few sides, and of course custad.

Usually at all locations you will find a long line out the door to get in. We came in the afternoon just for the frozen custard.

There are only a few tables inside and a few outdoor picnic tables.

We ordered and paid at the counter and in reasonable time someone runs our order out to us.

I try a vanilla custard with cherry dip.

I think that it is pretty good. I even like the cherry sauce embellishment over the cherry dip. I think that I am a pretty good eater but for me the only problem is that this dessert is ENORMOUS and sadly I have to throw from the cone down away. It should come in a smaller size.

My husband tries the chocolate cone.

I’d also very large. But is only mildly chocolate flavored so it leaves you yearning for more chocolate.

My Trip to the Sunday Buffet at IL Toro E La Capra – Las Vegas NV

IL Toro E La Capra is a Mexican Restaurant with Old World Italian Decor and also offers some Italian Dishes on the menu. This restaurant is located not too far past the strip. On the Sunday of our visit they weren’t using the first floor. We had our choice of using the stairs or taking the elevator. When we arrived we got seated right away. They do offer a long Mexican Menu and also do offer some Italian Dishes. It was pretty crowded and I noticed that nearly everyone was getting the buffet so I thought it was the way to go.

They start us off with complimentary chips, spicy salsa, and bean dip.

The salsa is extra spicy. It doesn’t taste like natural chili in it to me. It tastes like some sort of strong chemical extract that is barely edible.

Here’s most of the buffet.

Here’s most of the food we took.

My favorite bites were the fresh vegetables, the fresh fruit, and the vanilla soft serve but the the corn, rice, and risotto weren’t bad.

I knew better than to try beef from a buffet. My husband said that the worst plates were the beef ones. One was chewy. the other was tough. He thought his chicken was dry. I thought mine wasn’t dry but was weird for a fajita because instead of grilled meat it seemed more like simmered in liquid fajita. I didn’t try the fish because it was breaded and also in liquid falling apart. The other worst dish had to be the pasta. It was the mushiest pasta ever made anywhere.

We saw signs all over saying that Monday-Saturday the Buffet is less than $20. We found out that the Sunday Buffet ran $29.95.

SoulBelly BBQ Still Worth a Fork! – Las Vegas NV

Soulbelly BBQ is located in the Downtown Arts District of Las Vegas that’s not too far from the famous Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. This restaurant is by Chef Bruce Kalman who is a former Bravo Top Chef and was also James Beard Nominated. He was also victorious on Food Network’s Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay Shows.

On your way in there is a good sized patio and a large smoker that is usually smoking meat.

Inside there is a bar, an open kitchen, dining area, and a stage for bands.

Every time we go the menu seems to change some.

Maybe half the time I get the ground in-house smoked brisket burger occasionally. (I get it with slaw instead of cheese)

It’s always good!

My husband often orders a sandwich called The Belly of the Soul. (smoked brisket, fried egg, cheese sauce, pickled onions, spicy bbq sauce, and crispy onions)

It was really good to him and the Mac-n-cheese was also good too.

Here’s the menu we had.

Chip Off The Block (Sandwiches, Burgers, & More) Las Vegas NV – Worth a Try!

Chip Off The Block is a sandwich and burger shop that is connected to The Butcher Shop (Butcher Shop) in the northwest part of Vegas. They offer a variety of Boars Head meat sandwiches, some house smoked meat sandwiches, burgers and more!

First you order and pay at the counter.

Then you seat yourself.

They run your order to you when it’s ready.

I tried a pastrami sandwich on rye bread with house sauce, slaw, and sweet potato tots.

This sandwich is not going to win a prize for beauty but I’m happy to tell you that it tastes better than it looks. They cooked the pastrami in au jus and that embellishes the flavor and tenderness of the pastrami. This is also a very large sandwich and most people will get two meals out of it. The sweet potato tots are also very tasty.

My husband tried the Smoked Tri Tip Sandwich with added cheese and sidewinder fries.

It’s also a big generous sandwich with a half pound of meat. Also those fries are really great. They almost are like they are filled with creamy mashed potatoes.

Chip Off The Block is certainly Worth a Try!!!!

Wild Fig BBQ – Las Vegas NV is still – Worth a Fork!

Wild Fig BBQ is located in the Sun City Part of Summerlin in Las Vegas Nevada. They offer things such as brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey breast, house made pastrami, spare ribs, house made sausage, and smoked tri tip. They also offer various sandwiches, combo plates, side dishes, party platters, desserts and more!

It’s not a fancy place. Also they are without indoor seating. You either have to do take out or sit at one of the picnic tables.

On our first visit we tried a lot but not everything (also the house made pastrami on every visit so far) Above is the Pulled Pork, Turkey Breast, Brisket, Macaroni & Cheese, Brussels Sprouts, Corn Muffins, and Pickles. All was very good.

The above sides were chili crisp rice (too spicy hot for me) Macaroni and cheese (they now add hot Cheetos Dust to it), BBQ Eggplant (my favorite) and the Brussels Sprouts (very good)

Once a week they offer a Wagyu Brisket that is VERY GOOD!

The house made Pastrami is always VERY GOOD but does differ slightly each time. This fist one I had was to me PERFECTION and like it was “Made by GOD”

This second one might be even better for those who enjoy more jiggly meat. It was the same but more fatty.

This third one was similar but slightly more lean and had more bark (outer seasoning) with more black pepper taste than the previous ones. (I note maybe I am the one that notices the slight differences?)

Last visit combo plate was all very good. Pulled Pork, Turkey Breast, corn muffins, macaroni and cheese (we asked them to leave off the Cheetos Dust), side of Green Chili.

Amata Modern Thai Las Vegas NV – Is Worth a Fork!

Amata Modern Thai opened just before the New Year is about a ten minute ride before or after the Las Strip. And it’s also about a ten minute ride away from Ikea and the Durango. The chef and owner of this restaurant was regarded as one of the top Asian Chefs on the Las Vegas Strip for a long time. So I thought this restaurant was well worth a try.

It’s very modern and rich looking inside.

I was hoping to try a specialty dish but by Wednesday Lunch this dish was not available. So I went with the Basil Chicken (Pad Gra Pow) 3 out of 5 for heat.

For me this is the perfect amount of heat. The chicken is masterfully tender and is infused well with basil. This is very good and is a large portion that comes with steamed rice.

My husband tried the Drunken Noodles with Beef (4 out of 5 for heat).

The beef is also masterfully tender with a good amount of basil flavor. He also like the amount of heat.

I didn’t get to try the dish that I wanted to try but the dish I did try was very good so I can’t be unhappy.

The food we tried was –

This restaurant offers a breakfast, brunch, global menu. For Breakfast some of the offerings are a variety of Griddles (pancakes), French Toast Casserole, and Crispy Smash Burritos. They also offer entree plates such as Arepa, Romanian Mamaliga Short Ribs, Pork Chops, Yeshua Lamb Shanks, Fish of the day, Supreme De Poulet Farli (Chicken Thigh) They also offer a variety of coffee drink and more!

Inside is a variety of seating. They have traditional tables, high top tables, booths and 1/2 booths.

They started us ff with aromatic za’atar seasoned bread and oil.

It was a tasty and delicious start.

For my main I enjoyed the Supreme De Poulet Farli (slow roasted chicken thigh, herbed rice seasonal vegetables, golden potatoes, au jus.

GOSH THIS MIGHT BE THE MOST TENDER CHICKEN THAT I HAVE EVER TRIED ANYWHERE. You don’t need teeth. It’s also flavorful and delicious. The only thing I don’t care for is the chicken skin because it is really soft. But the chicken is amazing.

Same with the short rib. MOST TENDER SHORT RIB THAT I HAVE EVER TRIED.

Above is the Romanian Mamaliga Short Rib with Creamy Polenta, seasonal vegetables, and natural au jus.

Some how we were able to try dessert and saved room for the Midnight Dubai Indulgence.

It’s a croissant with Nutella, Kataifi (Arabic String Pastry), pistachio cream, chocolate, caramel, white chocolate that is STUFFED with a crispy Ice Cream Bar.

Meats were unusually MASTERFULLY TENDER and Everything was delicious !

My Trip to Rincon De Buenos Aires Las Vegas NV – LOTS of Steak that’s Chewy

Rincon De Buenos Aires is an Argentinian Restaurant, Bakery, Deli, Steakhouse type of place with two locations in Vegas. The Chinatown Location is kinda rustic and worn inside. This is not a fancy place.

English is the second language here but our server was also bilingual.

They start you off with soft bread and chimichurri.

We decided to try the Parrillada Martin Fierro (Skirt Steak, Fillet Mignon, Flap Steak, NY Steak, & Short Rib) that comes out on a hot sizzling box. Our sides were salad and mashed potatoes.

My husband added on a side of Chorizo.

On the bright side the chimichurri is delicious. I like the salad and the mashed potatoes. It looks like they gave us enough meat for 5 or 6 people. BUT……I didn’t do so well with the meats. Each and every meat I tried was chewy. Even the filet mignon was hard to cut. MY NAPKIN WAS FILLED WITH GRIZZLE AND stuff I spit out. So I ate some potatoes, salad, and squishy bread.

I wanted to end it on a sweet note and tried an Argentinian Dessert called Pasta Frola (guava shortbread tart)

It’s very heavy and and very dense. It’s like a whole jar of jam.

Cured & Whey – GREAT CHEESE & Very Good Sandwiches – Las Vegas NV – Worth a Fork!

Cured & Whey is a small casual deli, CHEESE, wine shop, and more kind of place. It is not a fancy place. It is located in an Industrial Center near the Las Vegas Strip a short ride from Mandalay Bay. They have limited seating inside and one outside table.

They also offered two sandwich specials today.

We looked around and they offered all kinds of deli meats and lots of CHEESES, pantry items. Fancy salts, rice, pastas, jams, jellies, honey, beans, jarred peppers, frozen meats, and more. We decided we had to share a cheese board and also try a sandwich. We knew that would be too much food so we had 1/2 our sandwiches wrapped to go and latter had some of the cheese board wrapped to go.

Sandwiches came out first.

The sandwiches came out with chunks of cheese.

The girl working there put half of each HALF sandwich in two baskets. (I guess she thought we each wanted both sandwiches?) We switched the odd pieces.

I tried the tuna melt. It is on very good sour dough bread. The tuna is actually very good and does taste much better than from the can. The tuna is embellished with tomatoes, pepperoncini, and provolone. The cheese is mixed into the tuna salad so it’s different instead of being melted on the top.

My husband said that the mortadella sandwich is also very good. He said that the mortadella is better quality than what he gets at most places.

Then we get the cheese board.

We got a goat cheese, cheddar, Comte, brie, and a pepper jack. Not shown in picture is also a gouda/truffle cheese. There are also corn nuts, sour dough bread, figs, and chocolates. I do have to say all these cheeses are VERY GOOD and are BETTER than what I can buy at my local stores.

A Taste of Mo’Bettah’s Hawaiian Style Food – Large Portions but Hit and Miss- North Las Vegas NV

Mo’Bettah’s is a chain of Hawaiian Style Restaurants that offer a limited menu of the Hawaiian Plate lunch. In case you know what a Hawaiian Plate lunch is – It’s usually a lot of meat, a lot of rice, and macaroni salad that is packed into a styrofoam container.

It’s not a fancy place. You can sit inside or at one of the two patio tables that is outside.

This time I tried a mini lunch plate with pulehu chicken, katsu chicken, veggies, brown rice and katsu sauce.

The mini is plenty and I am happy to say both chicken entrees are flavorful, moist, and tasty. The rice is much better today than last time (last time the rice was hard) and the vegetables make it seem lighter and healthier. I had some help finishing my platter.

My husband had the regular lunch plate with kalua pig, pulehu chicken, macaroni salad, brown rice and spicy yeobo sauce.

The one thing he said was amazing today was the kalua pig. He said it was the single best thing he tasted at any Hawaiian Restaurant in Vegas so far. For his taste the pulehu chicken was good but too plain. Last time we enjoyed the macaroni salad. This time it has a weird taste to it?

They gave us a coupon for a free mini meal so we recently went back. I had the same plate as last time.

This time the Pulehu Chicken is actually better and tastier. But the katsu isn’t freshly made as last time and taste left over like it might have been made yesterday or several hours before. Brown rice and vegetables were good.

Sadly the Kalua Pig was all dried out today so we may not be back?

Dogs enjoyed helping to eat these meals.

First time we had-

Pulehu Chicken & Terriyeki. Chicken
Katsu Chicken, Kalua Pig, Chicken Teriyaki
Spam

Large Portions Here so Bring DOGS!
