Brunello LV is a neighborhood type Italian Restaurant in the Sun City Part of Summerlin in Las Vegas Nevada. We tried them for Restaurant Week when they were generously offering 3 course dinners for $40.00. (Since my visit the Restaurant Week deal for this restaurant has been extended to June 20th.) See the Restaurant Week Website for other extension deals .
It’s a mix of modern and vintage inside. Modern tables and Vintage portraits of Sofia Loren everywhere.
At the time of my visit they are waiting for their liquor license but can serve wine.
They started us off with complimentary warm bread and a sun dried tomato sauce.
We started with freshly made –
Beet Salad
Pear Salad
My husband added the Happy Hour Meatballs
Our mains were –
Salmon Toscano – white wine cream sauce, artichokes, tomatoes, spinach, and assorted vegetables
Gnocchi Con Cipolla Rosa – gnocchi, brie cheese, Italian sausage, onions, walnuts
Peter Luger Steakhouse offers USDA Prime Burgers, Steaks, and Dry Aged Steaks so when they are offering a Lunch Restaurant Week Menu for $40. Per Person it is certainly worth a try.
They have a nice large bar and multiple dining areas around the bar.
Bar area
One of the dining areas.
They started us off with delicious fresh baked breads, butter, and Peter Luger Steak Sauce.
My first course was a nicely made Caesar Salad.
My husband went with the sizzling bacon.
My main was a medium ground in house burger. 30%dry aged beef mixed with chuck with extra great fluffy fries.
Even half is a very generous portion.
My husband had his with cheese and it was prepared a perfect medium/rare.
Then we had sundaes with house made cream embellished with a Peter Luger Chocolate Cow, a cherry, some walnuts, and quality chocolate sauce.
Mr BBQ is an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ located in Las Vegas Nevada’s Chinatown. It’s kinda Las Vegas Neon inside.
You get a lot of food no matter when you come here. They start you off with Korean Side Plates called Banchan . It’s all the meat that you can eat and also all the side dishes and small plates that you can eat.
We cook up brisket, bulgogi, and beef belly
Small Plate Fried Shrimp
Small Plate – Corn Cheese
Small Plate – Potato Noodles
Small Plate – Korean Fried Chicken
Cooking beef belly
raw spicy chicken
Cooking Spicy Chicken
raw pork belly
Small Plate – Wontons
Small Plate – Steamed Egg
For only $20. per person you can’t go wrong with the Restaurant Week $20. Mr BBQ menu.
Fun NEW Limited Edition Lay’s Potato Chip Flavors recently came out and two of them I had to try.
One is – Korean Style Fried Chicken (Wavy)
The Other is – Thai Style Red Curry
One taste FORKING AMAZING and the other is over seasoned powdery and weird.
Sadly the loser is Korean Style Fried Chicken.
It taste like mostly too much paprika, dry garlic, dry onion, and a sort of burnt chicken taste, maybe with other flavors. It doesn’t really taste like food. It tastes like seasoning mix that you’d add to something but with a burnt chicken kind of taste.
The “WINNER” by a long shot is clearly the Thai Style Red Curry. GOSH AND YUM! this one is delicious! Even the actual chips taste better and taste like potato chips that were dipped into actual Thai Red Curry.
My Garage Kitchen is a garage themed family owned restaurant located in North Las Vegas Nevada. They are open for American Style breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Inside is mostly traditional table seating. They do have a small bar and an outside patio.
I tried the Grilled Salmon.
I requested medium but was served well done. The server did offer to remake the dish but I just ate it anyway. The mashed potatoes are a very generous portion but are more like a smashed potato and is a bit dry. The asparagus are unusually great. Nice and fresh crisp and seasoned unusually well and also are a bit spicy.
My husband tried the patty melt.
He said that the patty is also a bit over done but tastes ok with all the cheese and onions. He also said that the rye bread was very good and he liked the onion rings. The server also offered to remake this one too but we were about 1/3 finished already by that time and didn’t want to start over.
Very good if you like your food all well done.
I suspect that breakfast might be the sweet spot here.
Shucks Tavern Gaming and Oyster Bar is a 24/7 breakfast, lunch, dinner, a seafood heavy menu, and Gaming Bar and restaurant with two locations in Las Vegas. The Centennial location offers bar seating, traditional tables and booths.
On one visit I tried a Golden Cadillac Margarita. It didn’t have a traditional taste to me but it was so strong that it could do push ups.
Here’s the blacked salmon chopped salad below.
It’s a gigantic serving….(maybe they accidentally gave me extra?) It can feed 2-3 people. It’s nothing exciting but it is reasonably good.
My husband tried the Fisher Platter (Fried Haddock and Fried Shrimp)
It’s also a tremendous amount of food with a generous serving of tater tots.
Below is the grilled Haddock.
(all this food was $20. subject to change)
Below is the Jambalaya that was also reasonably good.
Large Portions of reasonably good food that is reasonably Priced.
Matteo’s Ristorante Italiano is a North Italian Style Restaurant and Bar located in the Restaurant Row in the Palazzo part of the Venetian on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. The menus change with the seasons but here are some of their offerings. At lunch time it looks like this.
Dinner looks more like this at dinner time.
On our first visit at lunch time they started us off with Ciabatta, Oil, & Balsamic. On our second visit for dinner nothing was complimentary.
Below are the Sweet & Spicy Peppers with soft cheese and adorned with pesto, grana padano, arugula, & oil.
Insalata Nizzarda – A bountiful salad of – Confit Blue Tuna, Seasoned Hard Boiled Egg, Olives, Green Beans, Potatoes, & Salsa Verde Aioli.
Below is one of the three Ligurian Focaccias offered.
The Ligurian Focaccia with mushrooms, asparagus, Italian parsley and squash blossoms that is stuffed with Crescenza Cheese….(This is expensive but amazing……..It’s different and more like a light as air balloon bread)
Casonzei – Veal & Pork filled Pasta with Pancetta, Parmigiana Reggiano, Sage, Brown Butter
North Sea Salmon – Crushed English Peas, Lion’s Mane Mushroom Duxelles, Black Garlic Sauce (This was the best salmon I had in Vegas so far. The meat was sweet moist and silky. Prepared medium and the skin was seasoned and stayed crisp like a potato chip.
The only dish I don’t recommend is the pistachio and chocolate gelato.
We enjoyed the fresh fruit but the pistachio the night we had it tasted weird and not like pistachio. Both of us didn’t care for the chocolate either. The chocolate tastes 1/2 espresso to me and only mildly chocolate.
Matteo’s Ristorante Italiano is With a Fork! If you skip the pistachio and chocolate gelato.
Worth a Fork!

Dining with DOGS is just a “Fuff” Story about taking my dogs out to eat. It all sort of started with my late dog Louie. He was elderly and came down with aggressive cancer. He couldn’t do a lot but he always enjoyed going out to eat so I took him out to eat as often as possible. Instead of his 3-6 month diagnosis Louie made it another 17 months. Today I take my current dogs out to eat when the weather is right and when I can.
We made it to Market Grill Cafe. It’s a Greek/Italian Restaurant in the Centennial Part of Las Vegas. This restaurant is really dog friendly as they even have a menu just for DOGS.
I enjoyed their signature pomegranate walnut chicken salad.
I didn’t give the dogs any chicken from this salad because I know walnuts are harmful to dogs. Don’t know about the pomegranate but I did give them some feta cheese.
My husband had a gyro bowl.
The dogs had some gyro meat.
The dogs had their own steak and rice bowls and a chicken and rice bowl.
Each dog had steak, chicken, and rice and a water bowl was served to them too!
The Dogs enjoyed dining out at Market Grill Cafe.

The next week the dogs enjoyed a variety of foods from our local California Fish Grill.
They got salmon and beans from my salmon power bowl with added avocado.
They also enjoyed crispy parmesan String Beans
And some breaded fish from my husband’s Fish & Chips plate and salmon and beans from my plate.
“yum!”
“Yum” “Give me more!”

The phone number for this restaurant I am not certain is correct because it is the same as the Fort Apache location 725-231-7444
This week we went to Those Guys Pies. If this restaurant seems familiar then maybe you saw them on Food Network’s Diners Drive Ins and Dives. This restaurant specializes in Cheesesteaks and Pizza. The dogs got craft beef biscuits from the dog vending machine inside the restaurant.
After that they got to eat some cheesesteak.
And some chicken hoagie.
The dogs always enjoy going to Those Guys Pies.

The Forking TruthIn Memory of Louie 5-5-2001 – 3-3-2017
Ginza Izakaya Japanese Restaurant opened this spring in the Centennial (North West) part of Las Vegas Nevada. It’s a small restaurant that is only open for dinner.
If you get seated at a booth it is well lit but if you get seated in the main dining area you need to use your cell phone as a flash light. You can order a la cart or choose the multi course menu.
We started out with the chicken karaage (fried chicken appetizer).
The chicken tastes unseasoned and floury. The dipping mayo on the side doesn’t help much.
The Toro Nigiri – The fish has a melt in your mouth quality like from better sushi restaurants but the rice under the fish is loose and wet……..and falls apart.
The spicy tuna salad is good.
The hamachi Kama (fish collar). is severely over cooked to a point where the meat is dry and stringy. I don’t know how they cooked it but it seemed microwaved to me because I burnt my mouth trying to eat it stayed burning hot.
The shishito pepper skewer is delicious and very good and the same with the shiitake mushroom skewer.
The pork belly skewer is very dry.
The SPECTACULAR BITE was the wagyu skewer …..WOW it really was an amazing bite of delicious flavor and just melted in the mouth like butter. It seemed like it was from a $$$$$ restaurant…not a neighborhood restaurant.
My visit was a mix of hits and misses….so Good Luck!
