My Trip to The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills POP UP at Red Rock Resort – Las Vegas NV

I read in the Las Vegas Review Journal that the Cheese Store of Beverly Hills was doing a POP UP at Red Rock Resort 12-5pm February 28th. I latter found out by my husband who read on Red Rock’s website that the hours were 11-4 and not 12-5. I did plan to arrive about a 1/2 hour early because the pop up at Red Rock are big events. I saw a short menu of a few sandwiches, a salad, and a few desserts. We arrived around 10:30 and waited about an hour in line.

When we finally got closer there was a lot of complimentary cheese to try and also some lunch meats and crackers.

Then we looked at the condiments that were for sale.

Then guess what?

Another cheese tray to sample.

When we got to order we found out that everything was premade so no special orders or request could be made.

Also no seating but you could stand up at a high table. We choose to find the food court so we could sit down. When I opened the bag I saw that they skipped out on giving us napkins and they didn’t even give a FORK to give me a fork! My husband had to steal napkins and a fork from the food court.

I tried a Jidori Chicken Caesar Salad. It’s not bad at all but kinda average.

My husband tried the La Macellaia Sandwich (prosciutto cotto, finocchiona, coppa, spicy ventricina salami, red onions, provolone, iceberg, oregano vinaigrette).

He said that the bread was good. He thought it seemed like the sandwich might have been made the day before because the inside was just squished together and didn’t have that fresh made sandwich texture. He also thought that the provolone seemed like not the best.

So GLAD I didn’t come at 12 because the line was so longs I’m certain that over a thousand people were there and it was relatively a short line when I waited an hour. I’m sure that these people would have to wait several hours to get what we had that is if they got in at all.

That was my trip to The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills POP UP at Red Rock Resort.

Newly Opened HAYWORTH – Possibly the MOST UNIQUE Restaurant near Las Vegas NV – Henderson NV – With a Fork!

Have you ever been to a steak house that offers elevated delicatessen? Hayworth recently opened in Henderson Nevada. It’s by chef Alex Resnik who was a Bravo Top Chef Contestant and also did some Food Network TV shows and actually beat chef Bobby Flay on the Beat Bobby Flay TV Show.

Hayworth is a steak house that offers prime steaks cooked on live fire and also offers many delicatessen items. Some of the delicatessen offers are challah with schmaltz, a delicatessen platter, smoked whitefish, salmon lake, beef tongue agnolotti, potato kugel, sablefish, and 24 hour WAGYU PASTRAMI.

It’s nice and rich looking inside.

They have traditional tables, 1/2 booths, bar seating, and it looks like an outdoor patio is in the works.

We started out by sharing a romaine salad that is described as Caesar-ish.

It’s different but good. It some sort of artsy chef-ee creation.

We also shared the lox and latke.

For my taste it could use more cream cheese (Temptee) but is good.

The Sablefish entree was really FORKING Amazing.

This mild whitefish was so darn perfect it just melted in the mouth. It was in a very unusual unique tahini, apple, honey, beurre blanc sauce with parsnips and embellished with trout roe and sea beans. This plate really was amazing.

The 24 hour Wagyu Pastrami was also very good.

The Pastrami was tender and flavored well. We liked the beets. Brussels Sprouts were slightly hard.

Then we had to try the chocolate babka.

It tastes how it looks. Chocolaty with pistachio embellished cream on the sauce in chocolate sauce.

I have to say Hayworth is Worth a Fork!

Dining Out With DOGS in Las Vegas NV – February 2026

Dining out with dogs is just a “FLUFF” story about taking my dogs out to eat. It all sort of started with my late dog Louie. Unfortunately poor old Louie came down with aggressive cancer. We were told that Louie probably only had three months to live but could possibly live up to six months. The one thing that Louie really enjoyed was going out to eat. So I took Louie out to eat as often as I could. Instead of the 3-6 months aloe made it another 17 months. Today I take current dogs out to eat when I can and when the weather is right.

The dogs recently got to go to the California Fish Grill.

WOW was it cold here and windy. We asked them to turn on one of the wall heaters for us. Nobody did so since it was to cold (62 and very windy) We took the food home as a to go. The dogs helped me eat my salmon from my Salmon Wasabi bowl.

They always enjoy the California Fish Grill.

www.CAFishGrill.com

Got lucky and the next week was warm so we went to The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill. The dogs got to eat gyro meat, salmon, cucumbers with feta cheese, and chickpeas.

“The salmon is a little over cooked today.”

“I’ll eat it!’ “I’m hungry”

“The Chickpeas are good!”

“I can eat more!”

“We enjoy going to the Great Greek Mediterranean Grill!”

The Dogs also got to go to The Market Grill Cafe. Here they actually have a DOG MENU and they got their very own Beef & Rice and Chicken and Rice Bowls.

My Husband had the Chicken, Vegetable, and Shrimp Skewer Platter.

I Had the Pomegranate Chicken Salad.

I was slowly feeding the dogs their bowls but they also got some of the skewers too. My plate isn’t healthy for dogs so I gave them a little feta cheese too.

They enjoyed themselves at the Market Grill Cafe.

The following week we went back to Mo’Bettah’s. It’s a casual Hawaiian Plate Lunch Restaurant with two outside tables. This time I got a mini plate lunch with pulehu chicken, katsu chicken, brown rice, and vegetables.

The mini plate isn’t so mini and everything is reasonably good.

My husband got a full size plate lunch of kalua pig, pulehu chicken, macaroni salad, and brown rice.

Then the dogs got to help us with our large generous platters.

They also enjoyed everything they tried!

My Trip to the Newly Opened Marketon Supermarket – Las Vegas NV

A Brand New Marketon Supermarket recently opened at 5831 W Craig Rd in Vegas. They offer your usual grocery store items and also Latino specialties that are hard to find.

Below is a bit of what I saw there. I saw lots of lard there.

I saw some things that I never have seen before.

I also saw these hard to find special peppers here fresh and not dried.

I saw different snacks here.

I thought produce was very expensive here. A smaller sized cauliflower was $5.99 today. Five pound bags of flour were also very expensive and were $8.00 today. But they also had specials to counter some of the higher prices like large grinders of pink sea salt for $1.99.

That was a peek of the new Marketon.

Asian Wok – FORKING BEST American/Chinese in NW Vegas – Las Vegas NV – WORTH A FORK!

The Majority of American/Chinese Restaurants in North Las Vegas and North/West Las Vegas in general serve very sweet, very flat tasting Chinese Food. It is not even close to the American/Chinese foods that are served on the East Coast. I’ve been to nearly every American/Chinese Restaurant in North Las Vegas and nearly every American/Chinese Restaurant in North/West Las Vegas. As of this time Asian Work is the only American Chinese Restaurant that I will go to.

It’s not a fancy place. Part of the dining room is used for storage. Most people do take out here. But you can do your dining in if you like.

They start you off with crispy noodles and duck sauce. They will bring some mustard if you ask.

On a prior visit my husband enjoyed the pork egg rolls. The current menu has vegetable egg rolls.

Pork Egg Rolls (not on current menu)

One of my favorite dishes here is listed as Asian Wok Specials and it is the Ginger Scallion Flounder also called Steamed Fish Filet. Gosh it’s delicious. It also is a very large portion of food. I can’t eat it all unless I make two or three meals out of it.

Ginger Scallion Flounder

My other top favorite is the Szechuan Chicken.

This is DELICIOUS and spicy. It’s packed with flavors and isn’t sweet like what other places here serve. It tastes just like what you’d get back on the east coast.

Other dishes that we’ve tried are also very good.

Hot & Spicy with Chicken & Shrimp – No longer on the menu but they can still make it for you.

Black Pepper Beef

I still have a bunch of other dishes that I want to try but the Ginger Scallion Flounder and the Szechuan Chicken are so FORKING GOOD that I might not be able to?

The FORKING Las Vegas FOOD Buzz of the Week

Most Notable Food of the week was from Wexler’s Deli in the Aria Food Court. That LITTLE FOOD STAND is the only Deli that cures and smokes their own Pastrami and Lox. They also make their own bagels. Wexler’s Deli used to be California Based and had Several Locations in California and some across the country. Wexler’s is now down to only one location in the Aria Food Court on the Las Vegas Strip. They also do mail order lox.

Worst of the Week was Rincon de Buenos Aires. I must note that most people out there will not agree with my opinion. They currently have a 4.5 rating out of 5 on Yelp. I must say they do give you TONS of steak that is very reasonably priced so most people are cool with that. I only enjoy tender flavorful steak that is moist so I am too picky to enjoy this.

My dogs didn’t agree with me either and think that the steaks are amazing.

My Trip to WSKY Bar & Grill (720 E Cheyenne Ave) N. Las Vegas NV – Not the Best

WSKY Bar & Grill is a 24/7 Restaurant, Bar, and Gaming type of place with several locations in Vegas. TWO LOCATIONS are in North Las Vegas and BOTH locations are on Cheyenne Avenue maybe just two miles apart from each other. The New 720 E Cheyenne Avenue location looks different than most 24/7 type places. The most striking feature here are the large glass windows on the front and back of building that leave in lots of natural daylight during the day. The other difference is that this new location has a slightly smaller but also different food menu. They offer the usual all day breakfast and a mostly American menu of foods.

Today I tried the mediterranean salad.

The hummus (right side of plate) is thick as cement and not the best but over-all it’s an OK salad. It came with tzatziki dressing. It’s suppose to come with pita chips but they didn’t make it to the plate. (I had this same problem with a different salad that I had at the other nearby WSKY location) anyways I’m the lucky one because my husband’s burger came out dryer than a Burger King Burger.

Between the dry beef patties were –

Burnt Black Onions.

Oh and I almost forgot. I tried one of the Tater Tots and they were so over salted I couldn’t eat them.

My Trip to Abel’s Bagels – Las Vegas NV – Worth a Try!

Abel’s Bagels is a small Bagel Shop located in Las Vegas about 20 minutes away from the Las Vegas Strip near The Durango Casino/Hotel.

We happened to be in the area so we each had a bagel sandwich.

I tried the Lox & Cream Cheese on an Everything Bagel with an onion slice and capers.

It’s a lot less garlicky than most everything bagels and a little softer but they were very generous with the cream cheese and my sandwich had a good amount of ACME brand lox in it that is very good

My husband tried the bagel sandwich special that they named, “The Katz” (Rye, Pumpernickel bagel, mustard, and Wild Fig BBQ Pastrami with added pepper jack cheese)

A little different but tasty.

How Ya Dough’n – Pizza is Worth a Fork! Las Vegas NV

How Ya Dough’n Pizza in Vegas is located on the Las Vegas Strip in a Building on the 3rd Floor called The BLVD. The BLVD is located across the street from Eataly and just a short distance from M&M World. This is a small casual Pizza shop with an inside counter and outdoor patio tables to sit at. The pizza is really different here. They do a 8-12 day fermentation that creates a sourdough taste like no other. The pizzas we tried were thin and crisp with great really different flavors. Besides unique pizzas they offer three appetizers (wings, meatballs, doughboys ((dough balls tossed in parm.&butter with red sauce or vodka sauce for dipping) Soft beverages are offered here. You want to come here on a nice weather day. They have a small counter to sit at inside. Outside are many picnic type tables.

Here are the pizzas that were offered..

We ordered a Pistachio Pizza and the January Special called The Funion. (Mozz.,Havarti, roasted onion, leeks, chives, onion seeds)

While we waited for our order I watched one of the pizza guys throw a pizza crust in the air.

Soon we get pizzas.

Above is the Funion.

Above is the pistachio.

Both were very good but I thought the pistachio was more layered and popped more.

My husband felt different and enjoyed the Funion more.

Both were very good.
