There is always something NEW, WEIRD, Different or Special Edition out there in the wonderful world of food! I never know what I’ll come across when I go to store. Here are some Cannoli Chips in two different varieties. A Cannoli Shell traditionally holds sweetened ricotta type of cheese….These Cannoli Chips might be like Cannoli’s without the filling….

It’s kind of odd that Cooking Light Magazine sells food to me. It is even more interesting that Cooking LIGHT sells fried chips…..But they are multi grain I noticed….

Wow! I’ve never seen Irish Potato Crisp. Bag on the left is Shamrock and Sour Cream Flavored and bag on the right is Irish Farmhouse Cheese and Onion.

Buddy is famous for his family bakery called Carlo’s Bakery and his TV Show called Cake Boss where the losing contestants are told, “Off to the box truck baby” Now The Cake Boss commercially sells Dog Treats….I actually went to purchase the dog biscotti or the dog cannoli but all they had left were the biscuits.

The Cinnamon Roll pictured on the box looks hot and delicious but the cereal pictured on the box looks more like Forking kibble for livestock to me and not cinnamon rolls.

Chika Fruit. Never heard of that fruit. Looked it up and I get different descriptions. One website states it’s the chewing gum fruit. Another says it a grainy, sweet but with lots of tannins kind of tropical fruit and another website states that the fruit taste similar to a pear…I didn’t try it so I don’t know.

This month I came across many new crackers and many new boxed cereals. Here are pomegranate gummy bears..Who …knew pomegranate flavored gummy bears are out there!

Jackfruit in BBQ, Teriyeki and Tex-Mex flavors. That’s different! I haven’t come across Jackfruit outside of the Asian Market.

New Italian 4 Cheese Cheez-It Sandwich Crackers…Sound Tasty…don’t know if they are…

 

New Cheez It Duoz…..Bacon and Cheddar and Jalapeño and Cheddar Jack…..again sound tasty but I don’t know if they are….. I see the Pringle Mascot on the box with Cheez It……..?????? Didn’t know Pringles and Cheez It Brands might be related…?

Another “New” Forking Cheez It. This one is for when you don’t really forking want Cheez It Crackers and you need to mix in Pretzels, Pop Corn and M&M’s to thin out all them Cheesy Crackers.

The Vanilla Caramel Brownie Stuffed Marshmallow Peeps Birds. So I think the white marshmallow birds are stuffed with caramel and brownie. Think about it…….Creative kids can sure have a lot of fun with this Easter Basket Treat on Easter.

This month is filled with not all but mostly sweets and many different assorted chips. Here are Hostess Brand Hot Cocoa & Marshmallow Mini Donuts. I don’t know how they are but I can tell you that they don’t feel hot and I don’t see any Forking marshmallows in or on them.

Chips Ahoy Brand Cookies in Cinnamon Donut and Hot Coca Flavors….WTFORK……The Cinnamon is a cinnamon cookie…not a doughnut…… and the hot cocoa one isn’t hot but at least it looks like it has marshmallows in it.

Hot Cocoa Cotton Candy….interesting!

New Pringles Loud Salsa Fiesta Corn Chips. Ummm why are they called loud? Does that mean spicy?

New Ruffles all Dressed Potato Chips. This is some sort of mystery Canadian Flavor. I don’t know what it is but I read the flavor is something like paprika spice blend, ketchup, vinegar and BBQ sauce.

Beer ‘n Brats flavored Lay’s Potato Chips…..? Would you buy these?

Wise Brand Food Truck Inspired Potato Chips in Loaded Chili Cheese Dog and Beef Barbacoa Tacos Flavors….Kinda neat…and they tell the story about the food trucks these chips are inspired from.

Here are Limited edition Cranberry Muffins. They’d be good with cream cheese or as a turkey sandwich.

Unusual flavors of oatmeal. Here are Apple Cheddar Rosemary oatmeal, Vanilla Chai oatmeal and Lemon Ricotta Pancake oatmeal. I don’t know how these flavors will work out.

Spiced Sweet Potato Chips that are spiced with Red Pepper and Cumin…Ummm

I never came across Adirondack Red Potatoes before. These I had to try. They are all Red Potatoes. They are very flavorful and have an earthy potato taste. These potato chips have great potato flavor.

BBQ Black Bean Corn Chips

Sea salt caramel raisins. Not for me…………

Almond Joy Pieces. Milk Chocolate, almond, coconut candy buttons. Sound good I’ll try them sometime in the future.

Milky Way candy bars have been around forever and I never saw Marshmallow Caramel Mini ones before.

And now for something healthy…….

Cone Shaped Cabbage! I’ve never seen or heard of Cone Shaped Cabbage before. This cabbage is new, different and somewhat weird to me.

I think we can all agree that this is weird strange and different.

The Oreo Package reads TripleDouble Oreo. It seems the manufacturer isn’t sure if it’s a Triple or a Double Cookie….To me it looks like a cookie and one half…..I’d forking call it the 1.5 Oreo…….I just wonder what flavor is it suppose to be?

There is quite a BUNCH of FORKING WEIRD FOOD out there. I never know what I’ll come across and you will just have to see what I see next month.

That was January’s Edition of Weird Strange Different and Special Editions Foods out there.

 

There is ALWAYS something new, forking weird, different or special edition at the markets and I never know what I will come across. Here are Jimmy Dean Stuffed Hash Browns in sausage and cheese variety and also Bacon and Cheese. Nothing is plain anymore. I’m surprised these stuffed Hash Browns don’t come in Egg and Cheese variety or even forking Sriracha Flavored.

A difFerent kind of candy called Crunchkins….They are made by Topps (the Bazooka Bubble Gum Co.) The candies are sort of like malt balls and the box contains three flavors that are very True tasting. The white sphere taste just like stale birthday cake. The tan spree taste just like a stale glazed donut down to that yummy little nutmeg taste and the brown sphere taste just like a stale Fudge Brownie. In all the flavors you get a very realistic frosting with frosting texture but all the spheres inside are crisp and even though the flavor is dead on I still get this stale cake texture. I do note you can’t eat too many because the realistic sweet frosting on them creeps up on you but if you only eat a few at a time they really are surprisingly good.

Turkey Spam….Spam is usually a canned ham but a Turkey version of Spam is available now. Spam makes me think of Hawaii and Monty Python…

Sweet and Salty S’Mores Pretzels……???????

New Pineapple Habanero Potato Chips cooked in Coconut Oil sound appealing to me but I resisted….. 🙁 ………Maybe next time….

Blueberry Pancake frozen custard sounded too delicious to resist. Sadly the custard has watery lumpy texture and lacks a custard mouth feel but it’s the taste that’s unsatisfying and makes me sorry I tried this one. No hint of pancake…just lumpy fruit that you can’t really identify……not worth the calories….. :(……..Went back to figure out why I don’t like it……..Not custard and more like a creamy sorbet……..The orange juice cancels out any blueberry flavor it might have and also nothing pancake in it…..Blah!…

Organic Red Lentil Pasta isn’t so weird or unusual these days but the $8.99 price tag is very shocking to me.

Popped Edamame Chips…I’m buying these…

I thought Harissa Salsa is pretty odd….Both are red, contain garlic and spicy pepper but the base of salsa is tomatoes and the base of Harissa is roasted red peppers with different seasonings…….So this jar might be salsa flavored like Harissa.

Chicken of the Sea Tilapia in a Pouch in flavors of Teriyaki Sesame, Santa Fee, Marinara and Yellow Curry. I felt the package and it felt like a hard very small piece of fish…..I will not be trying this…

I think the oddest thing I came across was abnormal looking Kiwi Fruit. A Kiwi is usually a small fruit covered with fuzz. It doesn’t have a lot of flavor and is usually paired with another fruit like bananas or strawberries. The kiwi fruit is usually sort or oval in shape and the size of a Persian Lime. I’m not crazy about kiwi fruit so I didn’t purchase the fruit.

These kiwi fruit are very large. Each one weighs 1/2 a pound….Look at the weird shape. Is it a variety that’s different or are they a weird mutation? ……..Maybe a result of radioactivity in the environment?
