Italian Salmon Battle – Scottsdale La Torretta VS Glendale Cucina Tagliani

La Torretta Scottsdale AZ

La Torretta Scottsdale AZ

On the Scottsdale Side is La Torretta.

The Salmon Dish is called Salmone Alla Francesca.

La Torretta Scottsdale AZ Salmon Alla Francesca $23.99

La Torretta Scottsdale AZ Salmon Alla Francesca $23.99

The Set Up-

The menu reads this dish is made with Columbia Delta Salmon in a Shallot, Italian Parsley, Lemon Butter, White Wine Sauce served with the vegetable of the day.

Pros-

The vegetables were cooked nicely and the fish wasn’t burnt or raw.

Cons-

The sauce was very over-powering so much that I couldn’t taste the fish until the third bite. When I was able to taste the fish it tasted off like when you buy from your forking local AZ supermarket. The fish wasn’t spoiled but had a strong fish taste and was just slightly over cooked. Unfortunately my waiter asked me how things were before my third bite so I wasn’t able to tell him about the strong tasting fish. I did inform him about the sauce. I wasn’t able to eat the rest of the fish. (and it was $23.99)

I do note maybe you might hit them on the day when the fish just came in and will have a better tasting fish.  I also have no idea if the main chef made prepared the sauce or a new trainee.

Suggestions-

When ordering fish at La Torretta ask when the fish was delivered and ask for the sauce on the side.

On The Glendale Side is Cucina Tagliani

The Set Up-

The Salmon Dish is called Salmon broiled or Parmesan includes one low carb vegetable and pasta in a lemon-caper butter sauce. (the choice of vegetables are Broccoli, Spinach, Spaghetti Squash, Sautéed Mixed or Grilled Asparagus.

Broiled Salmon with Spaghetti Squash and Pasta in lemon-caper butter $13.99

Broiled Salmon with Spaghetti Squash and Pasta in lemon-caper butter $13.99

Pros-

Everything was prepared well. Everything including the fish were Fresh tasting and was cooked threw but still had moisture.

Cons-

Not much flavor to the spaghetti squash and minimal flavor to the fish. Pasta seemed a little too oily.

Suggestions-

You might need to use your salt and pepper at the table. I prefer this dish more substituting another vegetable for the pasta. Parmesan Style might be more flavorful but I haven’t ordered the fish that way here. Maybe order a side order of one of their many sauces for this dish.

The Verdict-

BY A FORKING LANDSLIDE

THE WINNER

Glendale AZ (FORK off Scottsdale!)

CUCINA TAGLIANI
