According to something I read on Facebook Nusr-Et Steakhouse on the Las Vegas Strip suddenly closed this week. Doors were locked and the help showed up to locked doors. This restaurant is by Turkish Chef, Butcher, and some sort of Internet SUPER STAR Nusret Gokce.
This restaurant offered steaks for up to $1,500.00 on the Lunch Menu.
I was here for a reasonably priced ($39.00) three course lunch.
The Las Vegas Review Journal wrote that they are expected to re-open in a new location…………….(maybe they will?)
And –
Best Dish I had out of the week was the Winter Squash from The Pepper Club.
Winter Squash with Brown Butter, Sage, Pomegranate Molasses, and Gorgonzola Dolce was full of flavors and was delicious!

Dining Out With DOGS is just a “Fluff” story about taking my dogs out to eat. It all sort of started with my late dog Louie. He always enjoyed going out to eat. When he got elderly he came down with aggressive cancer. We were told that he only had about 3 months and possibly up to 6 months to live. I took Louie out to eat as often as I could and Louie made it another 17 months. Today I take my current dogs out when the weather is right and when I can.
We went to the Great Greek Mediterranean Grill.
We shared two salad rice bowls (one was gyro and salmon)
We did A-OK at The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill.

The next week it was cold for Las Vegas about 55 and so windy that it was too cold to dine out with dogs so the dogs got a car ride and we picked up a Margherita Pizza from Old School Pizzeria.

The next week it was 52 and extra windy so it was too cold to dine out with dogs so they got an In-N-Out double Cheeseburger.
In-N-Out Burger
I was expecting a warm up but it was darn cold again for Las Vegas so it was In-N-Out Burger again. It was too cold to sit out a while so we fed them kinda quick on the patio.
The dogs enjoyed the car ride. They also enjoyed looking in the window watching production.
But they enjoyed eating more.
In-N-Out Burger
Well that was Dining In and Out with Dogs for January 2025. We hope that you’ve enjoyed and we hope to see you next month!

Pho Ga Bac Bac is a Vietnamese Restaurant that specializes in serving Chicken Pho. They are open TWENTY FOUR hours a day, seven days a week and are located in Las Vegas Chinatown that is very close to the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada.
You have to be really good using your cell phone to pick up QR codes to read and also ORDER off the menu.
It’s busy and energetic inside.
Busboys get frightfully close to you clanking dishes.
The vegetable egg rolls.
We have a lot of different sauces…..Three sauces come on the table such as sriracha, hoisin, and something that looks similar to soy sauce. We also received a very salty sauce with hot peppers, something like a fish sauce, a very gingery slightly hot sauce, and a sweet hot sauce. The Egg Rolls are crunchy but are more like spring rolls to us. I like the gingery sauce with them the most.
I try the chicken pho.
The broth is a very mild chicken broth. It comes with medium wide flat rice noodles, sliced raw onion, scallions, and very tender very mild white meat chicken. On the side are the usual bean sprouts, jalapeños, and it looks like Thai Basil to embellish the pho.
My husband tried the Pho-Tony (chicken on bone and sliced beef)
This one comes with thin rice noodles in maybe the same broth. He got chicken on the bone with skin, and slices of beef.
The Pepper Club is a Bar and Restaurant by Chef Todd English that is located in the English Hotel in the arts District of Downtown Las Vegas Nevada.
Sometimes the hostess stand is outside.
Graffiti Art is around the building and parking lot.
Illustrated below is the likeness of Chef Todd English and his dog Pepper that the restaurant is named after.
Below is some of what it looks like inside.
This restaurant used to serve a seafood heavy menu of Asian Fusion.
Now the menus are seasonal. This season the menu swings Mediterranean.
Chef Bruce Kalman (very well know James Beard nominated Chef, Bravo Top Chef, Many Food Network Shows and much more……and Soulbelly BBQ) is with The Pepper Club now. (I was told by The Pepper Club that this is still a Todd English Restaurant)
anyways –
Some dishes I was wild about and others can use a tweak or two.
Tonight we started with the house baked bread stracciatella cheese with roasted garlic and oil.
This was delicious and very good. I would probably get it next time too!
Next came the boneless Chicken Thighs alla Diavola with rapini.
The chicken is tender, moist, and cooked to perfection with crispy skin. The pan sauce is very good and rich tasting BUT this dish lacks heat since it’s called Diavolo. The only thing spicy here is that unbelievably HOT DEMON Red pepper…It so hot that it isn’t edible to mere mortals. I ate a tiny peice and almost dropped dead from the extreme heat. The dish is still good but tonight the pepper with it is not edible. The rapini is nice and crispy.
Next plate was the Potato Leek Cappelletti with Walnut Pesto.
This dish is made with nicely crafted pasta but lacks flavor. It can use some cheese and walnuts blended into the pesto for the necessary flavor that it needs…..This dish is an example of overly deconstruted.
The other dish that was delicious was the Winter Squash with sage, gorgonzola and dolce cheese, brown butter, and, pomegranate molasses.
This was a delicious dish that was full of wonderful flavors.
The Pepper Club – Just like most restaurants out there you might like some dishes more than others but is still – Worth a Try!
February 1st 2025 is the Bagel Eating Championship at Siegel’s Bagelmania Bakery and Deli in Las Vegas Nevada.
Joey Chestnut is expected to return and compete again. Last Year he won by eating 15 bagels in 8 minutes.

Here are some of the bagels.

As of this posting an exact time of the Bagel Eating Championship has not been written anywhere. Last year it began at 11:00 but you need to call to be sure.****UPDATE I just read today that it is 11:00 again.

Gung Chae Korean Healthy Kitchen recently opened their second location in Nevada. The Centennial Las Vegas Location is small and casual. You order and pay at the counter and seat yourself.
I tried the Spicy Chicken Hot Stone Pot Bibimbap.
It came with a small plate of kimchi and a plate of cabbage salad. The chunks of chicken are tender and delicious and flavorful. Not too spicy….There’s also bean sprouts, carrots, lettuce, a little nori, and rice. On the side is Korean hot sauce that isn’t too hot. It just delicious!
My husband tried the same thing but with Bulgogi (beef) instead of chicken.
The Beef Bulgogi is not bad but not nearly as delicious and flavorful as the chicken.
We didn’t know the servings would be so large and also tried the daily Banchan sides because you always have Banchan with Korean food.
Cucumber and potato salad…Forgot what the other two were but they were tasty.
Proper Sandwich is a little sandwich shop maybe 20 minutes away from the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. It’s a small casual place where you order and pay at the counter. They offer a good variety of good quality sandwiches. They also offer sides, house made potato chips, bottled and canned soft beverages, beer, and wine.
I tried the Chicken Banh Mi Sandwich.
It’s on a baguette bread with Duke’s Mayonnaise. There is plump moist white and dark meat chicken, fresh herbs with cilantro, pickled carrots and radish. There are also pieces of cucumber. It differs slightly from another that I was used to but I do think that this sandwich is very good.
We also shared some salted house made potato chips that were very good.
My husband tried the Italian Beef with added Italian Sausage. This came with a cup of Au Jus that I didn’t photo.
It’s a messy sandwich but messy sandwiches are often very good. VERY GOOD I hear and almost perfect. Very good beef, sausage, au jus, giardiniera, and bread but the sausage was slightly over cooked but not bad.
The Market Grill Cafe is a full service Greek/Italian Mediterranean Restaurant and Bar located in the Centennial Area of North/West Las Vegas Nevada. They offer appetizers like Saganaki (Flaming Cheese with lemon and Brandy), Tabouli, Baba Ganoush, Soups, and Salads. They also offer Greek Favorites like Moussaka (beef, eggplant, potato casserole), Pastitsio (beef macaroni pie), Spanakopita (spinach and cheese pastry), entrees, pastas, lamb dishes. Their signature dish happens to be Pomegranate Chicken. They also offer several house made desserts.
They do offer some patio seating for when the weather is right. Inside are traditional tables, and bar seating. At certain hours they also have live music.
Most likely you will try the Saganaki (Flaming cheese embellished with lemon and brandy) It come out on a skillet like a fajita.
It looks like this when the flames calm down and come with flat breads to scoop it up.
Another appetizer is the Mediterranean Medley –
Hummus, Tabouli, Babaganoush, Greek Salad, Dolmades, and Falafels
Or maybe you just want a Gyro Plate
Entrees come with a Greek Side Salad.
Here is their famous and Signature Dish The Pomegranate Chicken – Pomegranate and Walnut sauce, moist chicken breast, rice, pitas, hummus
Below is the White Fish Scallopini
A few other entrees are –
The Greek Trio (Spanakopita (spinach-cheese pastry), Moussaka (beef, eggplant potato casserole), Pastito (beef macaroni pie) with rice, pitas, hummus)
Below is what they call the Momma Mia’s Chicken
It’s moist Rosemary Chicken with Preserved Figs, Goat Cheese, Pistachios, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Balsamic Reduction. Lemon Herb Potatoes, Pitas, and Hummus complete the plate.
