*****UPDATE NOW CLOSED FOR BUSINESS******Taco Fusion is a small casual restaurant located on the north side of Glendale. They offer a variety of mesquite style street sized tacos on hand made DELICIOUS flour or DELICIOUS corn tortillas, quesadillas and some other items. The tacos are pretty darn amazing. A few places out there offer really great hand made corn tortillas but here at Taco Fusion even the flour tortillas are delicious too! I didn’t even get to the fillings yet!
It’s very casual. Order and pay at the counter and seat yourself.
They opened just before the pandemic and used to offer a salsa bar with amazing salsas. These days you have to ask for the salsas. YOU HAVE TO GET THE SALSAS>>>>>They are sOOOooooooooo good! But first we need to talk about some of the fillings.
On the left is habanero mild chicken (thigh meat). Middle taco is barbacoa (shredded beef). On the right is the fish taco (fried breaded mild white fish). The chicken habanero mild taco is FORKING AMAZING. It’s always full of delicious flavors and is always tender. It’s the one chicken taco out there that taste better than chicken tacos from Mexico. It’s especially delicious when you add the pineapple salsa here. If you can do more heat just a drop of either the black salsa or the jalapeño salsa adds some delicious heat. We’ve been here a number of times and the barbacoa is always at least good….but sometimes it’s really great…..Flavor wise the fish taco is consistent. But sometimes they give you a bigger piece of fish than other times. I just discovered that the fish taco taste better on the flour tortilla….The flavors just work better.
Jaas taco – asada (steak) green chili and cheese
We LOVE the asada here. It always has a nice charred flavor and is always tender and never chewy. It’s the best asada we’ve tasted around this part of town.
Al pastor (left) barbacoa (right)
The pastor (pork) is different and might be sort of sausage like….
Here’s our most recent take out.
We got a quesadilla packed with vegetables and cheese, a variety of tacos, black beans and several interring salsas. The one taco that wasn’t above is a shrimp taco in the lower left box topped with carrot. I don’t eat shrimp but my husband says that the shrimp tacos are always very good and are one of his favorites. When Taco Fusion first opened (just before the pandemic lock down) they offered a salsa bar with around eight salsas and other items. These days they cut the salsas down to around four kinds a day. In the middle of the above picture are the salsas they had that day. Up top is the unusual black salsa. It’s Mighty HOT flavor BOMB but full of great flavors. A drop will do you well. Below that is a green salsa. It taste like it is tomatillo based. Red salsa in under the green (I didn’t taste that one) and I accidentally put the pineapple salsa under the red salsa….it looks slightly orange compared to the red. It does have mild heat to it and does taste amazing with the chicken habanero mild. The owner told me that it does just as great with the pork. Last is the creamy jalapeño salsa….it’s another BOMB of flavors and heat. Very unique but also delicious.
I’ve haven’t tried the taco fusion rice dishes they offer but we have tried both of their beans (refried and vegetarian black bean. The refried are good and also meaty….The black beans are full of flavors.
Their tortillas are hand made and both the flour and corn are extra special. The corn has a great corn flavor. The flour tortilla are the best flour tortillas that I have tasted anywhere. For me I think that the asada and fish tacos go better on the flour tortillas.
