Eating out should be exciting. It should be an exsperience to be remembered. These are the most memorable plates I remember having this forking year so far.
I always have something forking memorable every time I dine at FnB in Scottsdale AZ. This time even the salad was pretty darn amazing. What made the roasted beets and watermelon special in this salad was the glacier lettuce and the vadouvan spice. The Glacier lettuce has a similar texture to watermelon and the oniony house made vadouvan spice just added the right pop to everything. Everything I had at FnB that night was really great but the salad was the most interesting and different.
I had a very memorable dinner in San Diego CA at Juniper and Ivy.
Little deviled eggs in crispy shells and trout that tasted like forking pastrami. Somehow they transformed something simple like carrots into a show stopping amazing dish. The carrots really were downright amazing. They were very layered with different flavors and textures that went together in a surprising way that was delicious. Going to have to get some forking almond wood. I keep thinking about how forking great those carrots were.
I did have a meal that was memorable but not in a good forking way.
To make a long story short. Appetizer was screwed up. Dinner was passable. Dessert tasted forking burnt and was forking burnt. This dinner was memorable but not in a good way. It was disappointing and a waste of a hundred and something forking bucks.
The other memorable but in a bad way was the most awful corned beef sandwich I ever had.
Two pieces of bland rye bread filled with mostly fat. The fat hardly tasted like what I recognize as corned beef and the fries were cold. I will remember this sandwich because it set the bar on worst corned beef. No forking person wants a mostly fat filled sandwich. WHERE’S The Beef? Where’s the FORKING beef?
I had a meal that was memorable because it made me feel like a child again.
The spaghetti roll from Gio’s Pizza in Anthem AZ might not be the best thing on the menu but it sure makes you feel like a child again. It’s a crusty seasoned garlic knot that is filled with mild tasting spaghetti……. the kind of spaghetti a child would eat and pizza cheese. The White pizza at Gio’s was my favorite of what I tried but the spaghetti roll seemed unique and was fun.
Every Plate I had at Zahav in Philadelphia PA was memorable.
I never had so many plates that were all delicious. The above photo is just the starter plates before dinner. It’s impossible to pick a forking favorite from Zahav. Everything seemed like the best I ever had at the time.
You can always count on a memorable dinner at Binkley’s in Cave Creek AZ. You get amazing service, a non stop parade of amuse bouches, expert wine service and meals like no other.
The Acorn Squash Risotto with shaved Perigord Truffles from Binkley’s Cave Creek AZ is a plate to die for. Even the next day I imagined tasting it in my mouth sucking my tongue and cheeks till they hurt hoping for another taste of it to dig up.
These were the most Memorable Foods I had so far this forking year!
