Who knew the Old Wild West is alive, well and tasty in Peoria Arizona smack in the middle of a residential neighborhood. You are welcome to park whatever you drive here. It could be your car, cycle, golf cart or your trusty horse.
As I entered I saw an old fashioned roomy patio that looked comfortable for dining. However it was over 100 forking degrees outside to I opted for the inside air conditioned dining room. This place isn’t fancy and it has a rustic old west kind of atmosphere. You have your choice of seating in the dining room booths or the high tops in the bar. You’ll see lots of wood, boots, people arriving wearing cowboy hats and you’ll hear the energetic noise of other peoples conversations.
Beverages are beers, cocktails and house wine for adult libations. The appetizers are pretty much what you’d except to find here. Wings of the chicken or pork variety, onion rings, and other mostly fried items. We decided to try the sweet corn nuggets. We soon received a large basket of crisp nuggets filled with a creamy lightly sweetened corn sauce with corn kernels and a tasty cajun spiced sauce to dip them in. They were pretty tasty and hard to stop eating.
For dinner I went with the halibut special. My halibut was prepared next to perfect and was tasty and juicy. It also had this delicious grill taste to it. They topped it with peaches and served it up with charred fresh asparagus and a tasty barley risotto. This was an excellent dish for $17.00. The going price for a Halibut Dinner at most restaurants runs $30-$34 and often isn’t as good as what I had here.
My husband’s dinner might have been more bang for the buck. He ordered off the menu and got the country fried steak for $13.75.
They started him off with a fresh crisp dinner salad.
Then he got his dinner with mine.
He said the country gravy on the steak was especially good and the steak was very tasty. We weren’t fans of the mac-n-cheese but then again we usually don’t care for mac-n-cheese out. We would get a different side next time maybe something like the mashed potatoes. They also gave him a large portion of fresh grilled vegetables almost more than he could forking eat.
Not fancy food but for the most part nicely prepared food at very reasonable pricing with a cool genuine southwest atmosphere. A good place to treat out of town relatives because of the southwest atmosphere and reasonable pricing.
