My Trip to Rebellion Pizza Las Vegas NV

Rebellion Pizza is a casual Pizza Shop with two locations in Nevada. One is in Henderson and the second location is in the Northwest Part of Las Vegas that is called Centennial. They offer what they call New York Style and Sicilian Style. The Las Vegas (Centennial) location is small and casual. They have a sort of space theme going on with traditional tables and half booths. Soft beverages, wine, and beer is available.

We started out by sharing some Burrata Bake.It comes with fresh baked focaccia.

It’s fun and kinda like a deconstructed pizza. You grab a triangle of focaccia and spoon on a rich tomato sauce and gooey melted burrata cheese. This is fun and tasty. I think most people would like it.

We also shared a small Roma Pizza.

The crust is thin with a nice crispy bottom and they use a good quality cheese. The pesto looks good but has little flavor and the tomatoes aren’t so ripe. I would recommend getting a different pizza.

We enjoyed the Burrata Bake and would recommend it.

Habanero’s Taco Grill #5 North Las Vegas NV is Worth a Try!

Habanero’s Taco Grill is a group of casual Mexican Restaurants with (at the moment subject to change) with eleven locations in Nevada (10 Las Vegas). They offer a wide variety of Mexican Food on the menu. They offer twenty six different combo plates, taco salads, super combos, a birria menu, all day breakfast, wings, soft beverages, and much more. You can dine inside but I noticed that most people do take out here. Outside is one table and one bench.

It’s very casual. You order and pay at the counter.

They run your order to you when it’s ready. You can embellish your meal with salsas and pickled vegetables from the salsa bar at the end of the counter. (guacamole was an extra side order)

We tried a few plates.

Carne Asada Taco

Fish Tacos

Combo #14 – Green Chile Pork Plate – Tonight the pork was very good. (My husband thought this pork was the best he has tasted in Nevada so far. The rest was reasonably good.

Portions are large and prices are very reasonable.

Las Vegas and Beyond Food News

Most Notable Plate of the week was the Ceviche Pescada from Moia Peruvian Restaurant. It was many layers of flavors and textures. It seemed like the most elevated Ceviche anywhere. It’s a FORKING Yum-Dinger!

Sadly the WORST plates of the week both came from Hawaiian Barbecue. I must admit that my previous visits were all at least good.

I tried the Coconut Chicken – BLEECH Yikes it tastes awful. The nuggets are also over cooked and are dry stringy chicken inside. Some nuggets are so HARD that I don’t know if they can pass in your system but I know that they can pass as ROCKS!

Everything is also dried out with the #4 – Bento. This is awful. Even the fried fish is EVAPORATED

Chabelitas Mexican Grill #3 Las Vegas NV – 24/7 Mexican Food

Chabelitas Mexican Grill is a very casual 24/7 Mexican Restaurant with three locations in Las Vegas Nevada. The #3 Craig Road location does not serve alcohol but does have many signs for beer so either beer is coming or the signs are confusing.

It’s a very casual place. You order and pay at the counter and seat yourself. Someone runs the food out when it’s ready.

I tried the Birria Ramen.

It is packed with a generous amount of Birria that is tender.

BUT-

It’s a FORKING SALT BOMB. I can’t eat it.

I do note that I might be more sensitive to salt than most people. My husband who not sensitive to salt tries this. He said that it is also too salty for him and he can not eat this bowl either so it indeed is not edible.

My husband got the Beef Burrito with Cheese Enchilada Combo.

They give you limes, green sauce, and red sauce to embellish the plate. My husband didn’t say much about this plate. He said that the red sauce was very spicy, the beans were very loose, and the cheese in the cheese enchilada was hard and not melty.

My husband was very thoughtful and ordered a fish taco for me because he had a feeling that I wouldn’t like the Birria Ramen here.

The fish taco isn’t bad. It’s breaded and fried mild tasting white fish. The taco is sauced with a tasty creamy chipotle sauce. It’s also stuffed with Mexican Rice and sits in double shelled white tortillas. It’s very filling for a taco.

Chabelita’s might be on the very average side but it’s open 24 hours 7 days a week.

The Charcoal Room Santa Fe Station Las Vegas NV – Worth a Fork!

The Charcoal Room is an “OffStrip” Steakhouse with at least two locations in Las Vegas Nevada (Santa Fe Station and Palace Station). At the Santa Fe Station Location lots of wine bottles are on display. Linen and Wines are set on the tables. A large bar is in the center of the dining area surrounded by traditional tables and booths.

They start you off with a basket of warm bread and some butter.

For our starter we split a gem salad (greens, poached pears, hazelnuts, goat cheese, dijon vinaigrette).

Our waiter Justin raved and raved about the Chilean Sea Bass Special so I had to get it.

WOW! Justin wasn’t kidding. This sea bass is real perfection. When seafood is really great it just melts in your mouth. This really was amazing. To the side is a buttery mustardy sauce. Under the fish is delicious baby carrots with fresh cooked spinach. It’s also a large portion and I have enough for dinner and a lunch.

The Bone In Ribeye is just as perfect.

I tried a bite. I usually hate ribeye steaks but this one is really tender and also delicious.

We also had a side order of macaroni and cheese.

It was creamy and was made with lots of tasty cheese.

We were too full to try dessert.

Las Vegas and Beyond FOOD News

The Notable Restaurant of the week was Rang’s Cocina Moderne. They are the Notable Restaurant because we’ve dine there over ten times and each and every time each dish and service is perfect. It is very rare that you will get perfect service and perfect food at any restaurant ten times in a row. They are doing something right. They also recently won an award from the Nevada Restaurant Association for Best Rising Star. In case you don’t know this restaurant offers a very nice menu of foods that are a mix of Italian, Spanish, and Filipino. Rang herself does most of the cooking and her husband Benedict does most of the serving. (Pictured above is their wonderfully flavorful and tender slow braised beef cheek).

Inside

Had another notable experience.

Asian Wok is the only American/Chinese Restaurant that I’ve found that offers REAL EAST COAST STYLE American/Chinese foods (Instead of the sticky sweet FLAT Nevada type style). It’s not a fancy place at all but the food really shines. So far we enjoyed “REAL” egg rolls, Szechwan Chicken, pepper beef, ginger scallion flounder, and hot and spicy chicken with shrimp.

No bad dishes to report this week.

A Little TASTE of my Local Sprouts Farmers Market Grocery

Sprouts Farmers Markets Grocery Stores are a chain of food markets with Phoenix Arizona Headquarters. They offer a wide selection of natural and organic foods.. They also offer vitamins, bulk items, frozen foods, a deli, pet foods, health, beauty, and more.

Often I buy the organic ground turkey for making meatballs or meatloaves.

I buy mostly produce here for two reasons.

One reason is that certain things like carrots, radishes, and broccoli taste noticeably better than from my big grocery stores.

The other reason is because of the tremendous sales they periodically have.

Anyways below are just a few of the dishes I made with Sprouts Produce.

Stem Broccoli with Peanut Gojogang Sauce

Butternut Squash with Apple Salsa

Carrots with oranges and pistachios

Brussels Sprouts are often a managers special…..I don’t mind.

One day they had farmers cheese for only 99cents a tub so I made blintzes

But sometimes I see strange things here.

I also think that it is strange that they put kosher foods next to pork crumbs

That was a little taste of my local Sprouts Farmers Market Grocery.

Gyro Philly Steak Express – Las Vegas NV – Worth a Try!

Gyro Philly Steak Express is a small casual Mediterranean Restaurant located in The Centennial Part of Las Vegas Nevada. They offer Kabobs, Gyros, Philly Steaks, Burgers, Salad, a Kids Menu, and MORE! It casual and you order and pay at the counter. You get your beverage and seat yourself. They will run your order to you after they cook it.

I Tried a combination Kabob Plate with Spicy Chicken, Regular Chicken, Salad, Rice, and what they call creamy sauce. It’s a very large portion that was two meals for me.

The plate also came with flat pita breads, a fire roasted tomato, and a packet of sumac. Everything is nice and very fresh tasting. I think both the spicy chicken and the regular chicken are good but I like the spices in the regular chicken more. I guess you need to use the garlic creamy sauce (not sure but I think it was seasoned labneh? It was something like toum sauce) to cool off the spicy chicken because it is very spicy. But the next day I liked the spicy chicken better sliced thin in a salad. I really enjoyed the fire roasted tomato. It was so delicious that it elevated the whole plate.

My husband tried the same plate but instead of regular chicken he special ordered lamb gyro.

He enjoyed it very much and said that the gyro meat was better than from most places because it wasn’t dry like it often is. Instead it was juicy and delicious.

Carve Prime Rib – From Hero to Zero – At The Cannery North Las Vegas NV

Carve Prime Rib is a steakhouse that specializes in serving Prime Rib. This steakhouse is located in the Cannery Hotel/Casino in North Las Vegas Nevada. I’ve enjoyed the service and the 10 ounce Ground-In-House Prime Rib Burger several times. But this time both were very different.

We start out by ordering a bottle of wine. We get glasses with water in them. I spill out the water and the server said that is just from cleaning. She acted like nothing was wrong with having water in the wine glasses. Incase you don’t know……NOBODY wants any kind of added water in their wine glasses.

Anyways-

We usually get the 10 oz ground-in-house Prime Rib Burgers here. Last time my burger looked like this.

Maybe I’m wrong? But I think this burger I just got looks smaller? (maybe? from being over cooked?)

Anyways size is not the problem. The problem is that this burger is over cooked, dense, and dry and doesn’t taste great like usually does. It can pass as a dried out fast food type burger. It doesn’t taste like Prime Rib and was packed so tight it has a different texture. It’s not a good burger ($24.).

We tell our server that the burgers are over cooked. (mine was suppose to be medium and my husband’s burger was suppose to be medium-rare). A manager comes by. Nobody offers to make new burgers instead of replacement burgers he says that he is taking one burger off the bill. We do tell him that we don’t plan to come back since the last few times the burger were over cooked but those burgers were still juicy and still tasted good (that’s why we came back). Tonights burgers were horrible. (I can’t say for sure but I don’t believe tonights burgers were ground Prime Rib because they don’t taste like prime rib (and it was the day after Valentine’s Day so they should have had lots of steak ends around to make these burgers). These burgers taste like from frozen commercial ground beef that are over cooked and awful) If they were out of ground prime rib the right thing to do is to not offer the burgers tonight.

Our bill comes…..but it’s not OUR BILL. It’s someone else’s bill that is about $100.00 more. I’m glad my husband noticed. (and we were only one of two tables inside so how hard can it be to give out the correct check?).

Well that was Crave Prime Rib. For us they went from Hero to ZERO. I must note that I have no idea if this was a one day problem or the way they do things now.
