Notable Dish Of The Week – 10 oz. Ground In House Prime Rib Burger from Carved Prime Rib at The Cannery Hotel Casino North Las Vegas NV

North Las Vegas is lucky to have one of the better burgers of Vegas from Carved Prime Rib at The Cannery. The burger has a nice beefy prime rib type of taste that most burgers don’t have. It is also a very large burger and some people will get two meals out of it. The burger comes topped with cheese sautéed mushrooms and onions. Lettuce, sliced pickles, and tomato comes on the side. Actually the burger does come with cheese (Swiss) but substitutions are allowed and my husband usually gets cheddar or American Cheese on his burger. Skinny fries come on the side in a hot heated bowl.

Here’s some potato stuffed potatoes and cookies. Today the potatoes were topped with brown butter, scallions, and thyme.

The next week I made 2 pizzas.

One was fresh mozzarella, smoked scamorza, parmesan, sauce, home made pesto, fresh basil

The other was spiced butternut squash with cannoli cream, pistachios, pistachio cream

They went real fast……

Made rye rolls and cocktail sized rye rolls.

Cocktail Rye Rolls

I stuffed the tiny rye rolls with tuna/trout mousse and pickled onion.

I forgot to photo the next week but it was Macaroni and cheese stuffed potatoes and some brownies.

Notable Dish Of The Week – The Truffle Garlic Mushroom Brie Taco with Spicy Raspberry Sauce from The Meat Wagon Las Vegas NV

We both enjoyed our meals from a Unique American restaurant in Las Vegas called The Meat Wagon.

I tried an assorted Taco Plate ( mushroom, fish, chicken). ((It comes with house made chips and are on house made grilled pita breads))

All three tacos were delicious but the most out of the ordinary taco was the –

Truffle, garlic, mushroom, brie, taco with spicy raspberry sauce.

I’ll be honest…….since I tell the FORKING Truth….I don’t really get the truffle but the combination is so oddball and so unusually delicious I have to give it to this one.

Squeeze Cheese, Chicken Liver & Peanut Butter are helpful to give Medication to difficult Dogs

One of my dogs is older and is now on a lot of medications. This dog is difficult to give medication too. She even spits out pill pockets. She even spits out pill pockets without medication in them. When my last dog Louie was elderly and on lots of medications he was good with special doggy safe meatballs I used to make for him to hide pills. My current dog figured out that pills are inside the meatball so meatballs don’t work for her. The last few weeks chicken liver, squeeze cheese, and peanut butter are the only things that she will take pills in.

Here’s the squeeze cheese.

Squirt a small amount on your palm and insert pill.

Now squirt a little more to hide the pill.

Offer to dog.

Dog takes medication.

Then the slightly bigger pills I try to incase in Chicken Liver (just dump chicken livers from container into a baking dish in a preheated 350 degree F oven for around 30 minutes…you can season sparingly with a very small amount of sea salt and a very small amount of pepper)

Then I use squeeze cheese to coat the pill.

For bigger pills I use peanut butter.

I wrap the peanut butter around the pill and then offer to my patient.

My FORKING Thoughts on San Carlo la Vita e Buona Pesto Flavored Potato Chips

I came across these San Carlo la Vita e Buona Pesto Flavored Potato Chips from a specialty on line food store called Yummy Bazaar when I was there buying something else. It says on the bag that this is Italy’s #1 potato chip and I like pesto so I wanted to give it a try.

The ingredients look safe.

I open it up and take a whiff……

It smells something like dried basil………..

I spill some out….

The chips are on the small side.

I eat a few.

They taste almost like pesto…………but a little different……I almost never say this but I think that these chips can use some salt.

The texture of the chips is very different from most chips that I have tried.

The chips are extra thin and have like a hard thin but delicate styrofoam texture that is very strange.

The flavor is a little off………… but because of the texture I might not try this brand again.

That was my FORKING Experience with San Carlo La Vita e Buona Pesto Flavored Potato Chips.

But your FORKING Experience may indeed differ.

The FORKING FANTABULOUS Dish of the Week – Tonno Alla Puttanesca from Mother Wolf at Fontainebleau Las Vegas NV – Worth a Fork!

Forking Fantabulous means life changing. It’s crazy amazing. It’s the reason why you must try this restaurant.

I had the very best tuna steak that I have ever had in my life at Mother Wolf in the Fontainebleau on the Las Vegas Strip. No other tuna steak can even compare…To the taste and tenderness. Maybe it was fresher than I am used to?

The sauces around it were magical…..There was a cherry tomato sauce called pomodoro e pomodorini, They were the most tomato-ee sweet tomatoes ever.

It had olives that never had before that were really different called taggiasca olives.

The dish also contained capers and LOTS of basil.

This was the very best tuna dish that I have ever tried anywhere.

P.S. or PRO TIP – You have to order the chef’s signature focaccia bread called sfincione to mop up all that goodness.

Dish Of The Week – Grilled Salmon from 1228 Main – Las Vegas NV

The Dish Of The Week that impressed me the most was the Grilled Salmon from 1228 Main. This Restaurant is in the family of Wolfgang Puck Restaurants and is located in downtown Las Vegas Nevada. The Grilled Salmon dish impressed me for several reasons.

1 – They didn’t even ask how I wanted it done and prepared it medium-ish

2 – They removed most of the bloodline that gives fish a fishier taste

3 – They crisped up the skin so much that it was like eating a crispy potato chip

4 – the fish was great and sauce and vegetables were unusually FORKING DELICIOUS

Everything we had on all our visits to 1228 Main were all VERY GOOD but I do need to mention that the menu changed on my every visit there. In case you don’t know 1228 serves daily made fresh baked goods, breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, and also has a bar.

The other plates we enjoyed on our last visit were –

Focaccia with provolone cheese and mortadella on the side

Spanish style cheese cake

This time we sat in the bar area
