I forking enjoyed the 3 course lunch special at Centurion Restaurant in downtown Phoenix AZ. The 3 course special even included your choice of beverage. You could even get a half glass of wine or a pint of beer if you forking desired.
I really didn’t expect a forking appetizer too!
The waiter drops off these tasty crispy Leeks with Cranberries. The Leeks really were very forking tasty. They were light and crisp with that delicate onion flavor. The crisps weren’t oily at all. The cranberries weren’t just from out of a bag and were marinated in something and went surprisingly well with the leeks.
For my first course I had Paprika Parmesan Hummus Plate.
It was so pretty to look at. I never had hummus like this before. It was tasty but not forking traditional. My husband who doesn’t like hummus said, “This was the best hummus I ever tasted.” I had many vegetables to try the hummus on. The pilowy mushroom caps were very interesting but for me the flavors of Paprika Hummus popped the most on the slightly cooked carrots.
My husband had Crab Nachos.
For my main course I had the Ahi Tuna Salad.
It was a very delicate salad topped with a fresh plucked pansy. The salad had little crisp capers that were popped open that looked like tiny flowers all threw the salad. The brick oven tuna was fresh and sweet and the mixed greens were very fresh. The salad had tiny just right sized pieces of creamy goat cheese and the orange segments were refreshing in the salad. This salad was dressed with a pomegranate vinaigrette that went right with everything. A salad like this is normally priced around $16.00 at most forking places.
My husband had the other platter I was thinking about ordering.
The Marsala Braised Beef and Pumpkin with White Truffle Smoked Egg Yolk and Leeks. WOW what a Dish! Incredible to be part of the $15. 3 course lunch. The meat was luscious and developed with flavors. Neither of us ever tasted anything like the White Truffle Smoked Egg Yolk. This was a very good forking dish.
For our third course we both picked the cheese plate.
A tasty chunk of quality cheese, mustard, raspberry salt, smoked salt, fresh cracked black pepper and fresh baked lightly toasted bread to experiment with. This little board was a special treat!
What a Forking GREAT Lunch!
