I’ve dined at many great places and in the beginning of the year I got to dine at one of the top 20 restaurants in the country it was Zahav in Philadelphia PA. This is the one restaurant that doesn’t do a few certain plates really well this is the only restaurant that makes everything forking amazing. The menu is vegetable heavy but they do offer enough meats to please a meat eater. Zahav is an Israeli Style Restaurant. They give you all these plates to start with and we were served another 8 plates. I kept waiting for one plate to be a stinker but that didn’t happen. Everything was superb. The only bad thing about dining at Zahav is once you taste their hummus you learn quick how much everyone else’s hummus sucks. They set the bar for Middle Eastern Food.
One of the most memorable dishes I had of the year was the Truffle risotto stuffed squash from Binkley’s of Cave Creek AZ. It’s so good it’s life changing. It’s one of those dishes that you mourn for after it’s done.
The Moroccan Carrots from Juniper and Ivy in San Diego CA are far from ordinary they are extraordinary! They really were that delicious!
Sometimes memorable means not good. I will never forget the burnt taste of this cake for the rest of my life from the Water Grill in San Diego. It was like sucking on a burnt pan. It sucked.
The Spaghetti Roll from Gio’s Pizza in Anthem AZ wasn’t my favorite thing I ate there but it was very memorable. It’s hard to forget spaghetti baked in bread.
The whole dining experience from Kai of Chandler AZ was memorable.
The very best fried chicken I ever had in my life was the Korean Style Fried Chicken from Bink’s Midtown Phoenix AZ. It doesn’t look that special but the flavors and textures were amazing. The skin shattered with crispness and was shellacked with delicious almost caramel kind of glaze. The meat was very juicy and very flavorful.
Best Rice Puffs I ever tasted were from Saffron Authentic Indian Bistro in Phoenix AZ. They had sweet, sour, tangy, and spicy going on. I never knew that a rice puff could taste good before.
The Hawaiian Style Cold Ginger Chicken from Wo Fat in Las Vegas NV was memorable so much so that I was inspired to create a similar tasting recipe for it on this site.
The best Lemon Meringue pie I ever had was from Jean Philippe Las Vegas NV. It was perfection.
Everything from L’Aelier de Joel Robuchon is masterful. The food is so forking great it can not be described but the potatoes are the most memorable. I can still remember the taste.
Bobby’s Cafe of Sun Sun City Az was memorable. I’ll never be able to shake this one off. Possibly the worst platter I ever had with the all time forking worst potatoes anywhere.
The potatoes look forking deceased.
The food is very good from Little Cleo’s Seafood Legend in Phoenix AZ but this dinner is sized for a forking hamster. I’ll never forget how hungry I felt after I ate here. That was forking memorable.
Had a fabulous dinner in Paso Robles CA at Bistro Laurent. The cheese plate was to die for. Best cheeses I ever tasted.
Atlas Bistro in Scottsdale AZ made this salad that had exciting flavors, textures and was so refreshing. Actually the whole dinner was memorable and was among the best dinners I had this year.
Best beef sandwich I ate in a long time came from A Taste of Buffalo in Glendale AZ. The roll was also unique with crunchy salt and caraway seeds.
The whole dinner from The House Brasserie in Scottsdale AZ was wonderful but I keep thinking about the horseradish pickles that garnished this dish. They were very memorable.
The food from Habbouz Tunisian Cuisine in Phoenix AZ was unique and unexpected. Great exciting flavors in the food. The pepper relish was particularly memorable. They were incredibly spicy to me at first and then just turned delicious in my mouth and like magic were no longer too spicy.
The worst Chile Relleno I ever had came from Popo’s Fiesta Del Sol in Glendale AZ. I wish I forgot it. Tasted like a tin can mixed cheese canned pepper and icky egg white. Ate what you see here and then my stomach forking locked up.
It was hard to only pick one plate from Ocotillo in Phoenix AZ. The Tandoori Style Chicken Sandwich is very detailed with lots of interesting flavors. All the chicken dishes that I tried from Ocotillo are exceptional.
The most memorable plate I recently had was the hummus with meat from Zad Al Khair in Glendale AZ. It was memorable because it was HORRIBLE. The pita was thin and crisp like forking matzo and seemed machine made. Hummus was bland and not creamy enough. I had a choice of chicken or beef and picked chicken but it was topped with the driest, chewiest, grizzliest meat you could ever find anywhere. It could have passed for camel or maybe it was more like forking rubber. Whatever animal it was died in vain and seemed inflicted with rigor mortis.
These are the most memorable plates I had out in 2015.
