I let my husband pick out the first snack. He picked crisp almond cookies called Amarettini.
The cookies are very tiny and very crispy and are extremely almond forward. I think they are very good and the little bag is filled with more cookies than I imagined. This one is very good. I hope we didn’t eat the best one first again.
My husband picks the next one. It’s some sort of carrot/orange snack cake. Now this one I expected to hate because I’m not a big fan of carrot cake or most packaged snack cakes.
This is a first…….It’s surprisingly good and seems fresh. I don’t get the carrot. The cake is just moist. The cream is laced with orange and isn’t too sweet. I can eat this…It’s good.
Next we went to the Yum Bag and tried the Lemon Fizzy Soda Candy at the top of the picture.
OMG this isn’t sweet. It’s so tangy it is painful to my mouth. My husband just munched his down and said, not very fizzy or good. I painfully let mine dissolve thinking that it might get better. Mine didn’t get fizzy either and stayed painful till the last few moments. I would not try this one again.
Artificially ketchup potato chips….???????
I open the bag and they smell like ketchup….They do have the taste of ketchup but a little sweeter and also too tangy….my mouth is very sensitive and the chemicals in the chips burn my mouth…..Doesn’t bother my husband though.
I wanted to save this for last but we didn’t.
Novi chocolate hazelnut bar. This chocolate bar just melts in your mouth. It’s creamy milk chocolate that is full of flavor and even the hazelnuts are full of hazelnut flavor. I wish I had another one of these bars in my box. This one was really good.
Truffle potato chips.
I open the bag and get a slight truffle aroma. The chips are very small and are light and crisp. They do have a pleasant truffle kind of taste to them that lingers in the mouth a bit. Another very good.
Here are tarallini. They are little tasty lemon and black pepper laced micro mini bagel shaped crackers. These are very tasty. I could use another bag of these too.
Now I’m trying my last treat.
It’s a round chocolate ball that is called Tiramisu. I usually don’t like that dessert made with ladies fingers, espresso, cream and rum…..Well I will give this a try.
Ummm I get the espresso right away but it’s not too strong and quickly turns to a rich milk chocolate taste that explodes into my mouth. It’s seems very rich but also is very satisfying….Wow I like it!

There is always something NEW, Weird, Different, Limited and Special Edition out there in the wonderful world of food. These are a few of what I’ve come across lately. Up above are –
NEW – Sugar Cookie artificially flavored M&M’s Candies. WOW this year really sucked. Had only like two new flavors of M&M’s this year. WTFork sugar cookie is artificially flavored? I have no idea why this candy is artificially flavored. All that is in a sugar cookie is sugar, flour, egg, butter and vanilla. I might try them but I’m not too optimistic.
NEW – Hershey’s Kisses in sugar cookie because you can’t get enough sugar cookie flavor even if you get the sugar cookie M&M’s too. There are so many cookies this time of year….Speaking of cookies…….
NEW – Nestle Hocus Pocus Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookie Dough with added morsels and candy gems. Might be fun for kids………..the the added morsels sort of scare me. Sounds like they made the cookies and someone tampered with them and added morsels………??????
NEW – Ben and Jerry’s Cookie Dough in Gingerbread and Cinnamon Bun. I don’t get this. Maybe someone might want gingerbread but cinnamon buns are not cookies so how can there be cinnamon bun cookie dough??????
NEW – Good Value (?) Orange Glitter Syrup with Natural Flavors (what are the natural flavors?….could be vomit….could be fart gas?)……..also made with edible glitter…..Now your poop can sparkle too….
DIFFERENT and maybe WEIRD – Yellow Pumpkins…???? IDK maybe they are sick and anemic? Maybe that is why I found them at Safeway?
LIMITED EDITION – Kit Kat in naturally and artificial flavored Pumpkin Pie …….? Guess the natural and artificial flavors might run a little like Frankenstein…..A little natural and a little un-natural?????
LINITED EDITION – Jelly Belly Pumpkin Pie Jelly Beans….This brand is usually very good so I tried them. After a few they went in the trash. 🙁
LIMITED EDITION – Swiss Miss Hot Coca Mix in Pumpkin Spice…..why not? everything else comes in pumpkin spice…..
LIMITED EDITION – Hostess TIGAR TAILS Twinkies…..I don’t know what flavor is tiger tail? I know the tail is connected near the butt hole so why would anyone want tiger tail flavored? Just look at that Twinkie…..Looks like it’s constipated or about to poo?
LIMITED EDITION – Little Debbie Pumpkin Delights Cookies.. It bugs me that they look like giant ant heads to me and not like jack-o-lanterns.
LIMITED EDITION – Little Debbie Pumpkin Spice Rolls…For when you need an extra roll or two around your muffin top.
LIMITED EDITION – Stauffer’s Artificially flavored Pumpkin Spice Snaps…..For those days when you are feeling un-natural and want the original recipe because the second one was even worst. Ohhhhh Snap!
LIMITED EDITION – Pirouline pumpkin spice creme filled wafers. …..might be natural? Don’t see artificial printed anywhere?????
LIMITED EDITION – Moon Pie Minis in Pumpkin Spice………… I would call Moon Pie Minis Space Rocks…Better than calling them Mud Pies.
LIMITED EDITION – Reese’s KING SIZE 2 pack White Pumpkins……??? It looks scary..????
LIMITED EDITION – Junior Mints with black and orange centers….WOW I’m glad I didn’t;t buy them. The black centers might make my teeth black. The Halloween Junior Mints used to just come with orange centers.
DIFFERENT – Hardbite hand crafted style carrot chips. I reckon if they are “hand crafted style” that they aren’t actually hand crafted…?
DIFFERENT and possibly WIERD – Melinda’s Thin and Crispy Banana Chips in Sour Cream and Onion Flavored………I don’t know about you but I would never think of sour cream and onions on bananas……
DIFFERENT – Millers sweet and spicy banana pepper mustard in miild and hot. Might be delicious. I love banana peppers.
DIFFERENT – The Foraging Fox Beetroot Ketchup in original and smoked. Sounds delicious……but why are they only showing the fox butt on the label? Looks like he pooped into the bottle.
WEIRD – Chocolate Works chocolate covered Cotton Candy Pretzels with pink strawberry sugar crystals. I have a feeling that these wouldn’t mix well with beer or mustard.
NEW – Cheetos Mac ‘N’ Cheese in flaming hot, bold and cheesy and cheesy jalapeño…..Maybe they pair well with Tiger Tail Twiinkies?
NEW – Kraft Pumpkin Spice Macaroni and Cheese……..This can not be good…I think the “D” stands for “Don’t touch this” just “Don’t”
LIMITED EDITION – Thomas English Muffins in Banana Bread……I’m confused….are they muffins or banana bread?
DIFFERENT – Taste of the South Fried Pickle and Ranch Dip…sounds tasty but wouldn’t the fried pickles get soggy?
This next one is even more different and WEIRD.
WEIRD – Brach*S Turkey Dinner Candy Corn in green beans, roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, ginger glazed carrots, sweet potato pie and stuffing WOW! Reminds me of something from Willy Wonka.
Then there is unfortunately…..I mean usually a new Oreo Cookie out there.
NEW – Family size dark chocolate Oreo Thins.
Oh BOY there’s more!
LIMITED EDITION – Boo hoo Oreo Trick or Treat Packs …My bad not Boo Hoo but just BOO!

I signed up for just the basic Yum Box (around $15.) that comes with 6 international snacks plus extra. My first box came with all kinds of treats from Columbia. I forgot to take a picture of just opening the box. This is my box after a few days of snacking.
It comes with a booklet with some facts about Columbia.
It also came with a recipe for arepas.
Some fun trivia.
Here are all the snacks.
Mayonnaise flavored potato chips, coconut wafer bar, lemon bacon chips, white chocolate cookie nuggets, a nougat chocolate bar and some sort of confection that is a mash-up of marshmallow and gummy in the shape of penguins.
They also included a surprise bag of a couple other things.
Coffee taffy and a passionfruit bubblegum pop. The coffee taffy tasted just like coffee. Had the texture of taffy but got softer. The passionfruit pop tasted like passionfruit but mixed with talcum powder. I didn’t take it to the bubblegum center.
We tried something that looked sort of familiar…..
Cookies and Cream White Chocolate Nuggets.
They taste like smashed up Oreos with extra frosting that is waxy. If you like Oreo cookies then you will like them.
Then we opened up this one.
It’s a chocolate bar filled with marshmallowy choco-nougat. Outer coating was a little waxy but did have a cocoa taste to it. Marshmallowy nougat isn’t my jam so we go to the next one.
Lemon Bacon chips (oy vey)
They don’t actually have bacon in them.
Pelllet (cooked) style fake bacon
They don’t taste like bacon but they are so artificially sour that they are painful to eat.
This next one looks cute.
They smell like Juicy Fruit Gum.
They are penguin shaped and are like a cross between a marshmallow and a gummy. I guess they are a fluffy gummy penguin.
These aren’t bad. They taste like coconut wafers. These are ok.
Artificially flavored mayonnaise potato chips……(why?)…They smell like normal potato chips……they are powdery and have an odd sour finish…….Or maybe it’s a chemical finish?

While I didn’t particularly enjoy any of the snacks from Columbia I still enjoyed the adventure. That was my first box of Universal Yums.

I do note that your experience may indeed differ from my experience.
It’s kind of fun to try different flavors of potato chips. A few are really great. Some are beyond terrible and most fall in-between. I really enjoyed the regular Lay’s Seaweed Chips from Taiwan so I thought the Spicy Roasted Seaweed Chips could be another winner.
The bag is small and only weighs around one and a half ounces.

There are many ingredients and these chips also are made with milk and fish.
I open the bag and take a whiff.
These chips smell strange. Kind of like something fried like pastry and tea…..
Now I am afraid to taste them……
I go and do the duty not expecting much.
PHEW!
They don’t taste as bad as they smell.
I eat a chip the way I’d normally eat a chip.
They are small chips with a powdery surface. They have a pleasant crunch to them. A slight sweetness, but more salty than sweet and more than anything they have a medium heat to them that builds a little. You do taste seaweed but it isn’t the dominate flavors.
I try to eat a chip very slow to taste it differently.
YUK…..can taste the fish this way and something that taste like burnt tea….
WOW they aren’t horrible if you just eat them but they aren’t great either.
They aren’t even as close to as good as the regular Lay’s Seaweed flavor is.
Not the best….but not the worst either
Don’t eat slow. You need to munch them down to skip over some of the flavors.
There is ALWAYS something New, Weird, Different, Limited and Special Edition out there in the wonderful world of food. I just never know what I will come across. Lately during the pandemic I’m not taking my chances on going to a store very often so most of what I come across is from the internet.
Up above are LIMITED TIME ONLY Sweet Corn Pringles Chips. I tried to buy them but haven’t found them. I heard that they are only to be found at Walgreens…..
LIMITED – Pringles Wendy’s Baconator ARTIFICIALLY FLAVORED that are suppose to taste like a Wendy’s Bacon Cheese Burger……That might work if the burgers are artificially flavored??????
DIFFERENT and maybe WEIRD – Chirps Eat Bugs Cricket Chips in Barbecue and Cheddar Cheese flavors. Are you going to hop to the store and buy them..? Or does the idea of eating crickets bug you?
NEW – Ritz Cheese Crispers Crackers in Cheddar and Four Cheese & Herb. They sound tasty but I haven’t tried them so I don’t know if they are?
NEW – Pepperidge Farm Veggie Crackers Cheesy Tomato with 1/3 servings of tomato a serving. These I bought. No cheese taste at all but sort of tomato. Some of the crackers are fish shaped and some fish have smiles. Some of the crackers look like pumpkins to me.
NEW – Lil’Nitro World’s Hottest Gummy Bear! (no thanks ((ick!))
NEW – Sensible Portions Screamin’ HOT Veggie Straws……Might be tasty?

NEW – Gummy Berry Grapes. I don’t like gummy bears so I think I’m going to skip over these grapes.

NEW – That’s Tasty organic ginger and garlic toothpaste……JUST KIDDING! But it looks like toothpaste……It’s squeezable ginger and garlic….OH MY!
WEIRD – Cap’n Crunch’s BettyTastic Pancake Mix with Aunt Jemima Light and Fluffy Texture with Cap’n Crunch’s Ocean Blue ARTIFICIALLY Maple Flavored syrup.
I needed some things from PetSmart so I saw a few Weird foods for dogs.
WEIRD – Bocce’s Bakery – Coconut, Carob and Mint Treats…….I doubt any dogs has ever thought about eating coconut…….?
Different – Bocce’s Bakery Peanut Butter and Bacon Treats…Now this one makes sense to me.
DIFFERENT – Lazy Dog The original Pup-Pie Happy Birthday Treat for girl dogs……when I left I saw the same for boy dogs…
I looked for a new Oreo Cookie and didn’t find any but I did find something Oreo.
NEW – Pillsbury Eat or Bake Cookie Dough with Oreo Pieces.
I dug a little harder and I did find a new Oreo.
NEW – Nabisco red, white and blue layers of cream Oreo Cookies with the American Flag and Olympic Rings embossed on the cookies…..Interesting the 2020 Olympics are held off because of the pandemic so I guess they can offer these cookies all year while we wait.

DIFFERENT – KitKat candy in Sweet Cinnamon made with “natural” and OTHER natural flavors……natural is good…..but when it reads other natural I have to wonder what the FORK that could be……Other natural…..could be whale anus skin, baboon boogers, grown out elephant toe nails, tiger spit. beaver anal sac contents…WHO FORKING KNOWS!

Here are Clio Greek Yogurt Bars in vanilla and strawberry that are coated in chocolate….Sounds awful…..I think you bite into chocolate and yogurt squirts out.
Different – Yoplait Whips in Dunkin Cinnamon Coffee Roll Flavor. I saw the front of it before I read what it was and I thought it was a picture of something my dog did…….I would never try this yogurt.
Different and maybe Weird? Ox Tongue Shaped Cake…..Below are Pop-tarts…..I know they used to be made with beef fat……always thought that made them weird.

DIFFERENT – CADO Avocado frozen desserts in Mint Chocolate Chip, Simply Lemon and Deep Dark Chocolate. Probably good! …….but don’t know????
WIRED – Peanut BLUBBER frozen concoction……It’s not ice cream and it’s called Peanut Blubber…….WEIRD!
NEW – Marvel Ample Hills Creamery Captain America, Black Panther and Spiderman Ice Cream……?????? They are pretty expensive for a small container. I hope they are good…They are like TWICE as FORKING MUCH as Hagan Dazz…….They better be really great!
WEIRD – Ocean Spray Craisins (dried cranberries) in FORKING WATERMELON FLAVOR….WHY would I want my cranberry to taste like watermelon……whoever thought of this must be on drugs…..just my Forking thoughts…..
Here are ARTIFICIALLY Flavor Bacon Salt Sunflower Seeds….WHY?……I don’t think most people like artificial bacon….maybe real bacon but then it might be greasy?……I think most people like sunflower seeds plain or with salt.
NEW – Reese’s Chocolate Lovers (sorry I accidentally covered up the word LOVERS) Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. These are different. They darkened the milk chocolate some and it’s suppose to be a thicker coating of chocolate. It does taste different. If you aren’t a fan of Reese’s then you will like it better but If you love Reese’s like I do you will prefer the original. They also came out with a Peanut Butter Lovers Peanut Butter Cup with less chocolate and a layer of peanut butter confection but I didn’t find that one yet.
NEW – Baby Bottle Pop Lollipops with POPPING POWDER……might be fun?
DIFFERENT and WEIRD – Frankford Brand Gummy Krabby Patties Candy. Too funny! I wonder What the FORK are they suppose to taste like? A Krabby Patty or a Hamburger pictured on the box. WTFork is this stuff anyway?
NEW and DIFFERENT – Earthly Choice Broccoli Rice and Cauliflower Rice. These aren’t frozen they are packaged for the shelf. I see cauliflower rice everywhere but not too often do I see broccoli rice.

Up above is Black Bean Chipotle Hummus……(or so they say)….Might be good? don’t know? – Different…Maybe Weird too….Isn’t hummus made from chick peas?
I think I have to draw the line at Brownie Batter Hummus………HOW the FORK is that going to taste in a pita sandwich? This one is FORKING WEIRD!
Here we got H.J. Heinz Vintage 1896 Smoky and Spicy Ketchup…….I picked them up will let you know……Different
NEW – Romano’s Macaroni Grill makes frozen foods. Here’s cajun style chicken Alfredo, chicken parmesano and supreme pizza in tubs that are ice cream shaped.
NEW – Korean Style Fried Chicken, Vegetable Ramen Noodle Bowl and Chicken Shoyu Ramen.
Interesting! Bibigo Bibimbap in Go-Chu-Jang Chicken, soy garlic beef and soy garlic chicken. Some these sound really great but frozen food from the grocer’s usually isn’t the best.
Benihana Japanese Steakhouse Foods in Yakisoba Steak, Rocky’s Choice? and Hibachi Chicken Rice. ????? All frozen so you miss the chef chopping on the grill throwing shrimp and eggs in the air.
