Every year we come across foods that are special or limited edition for Halloween. These are some of what I’ve come across at my local stores.

Up above is a special edition Apple Jacks with spooky ghost marshmallows.

It’s fall so it’s Halloween time. Since I was born I always noticed Halloween treats for kids and people. Only the past few years I noticed Halloween treats for dogs. Here is what I’ve come across. I found it amusing. Maybe you will find some of it amusing too!

NEW WEird DIFfereNT Limited and Special Edition Foods out there for September 2020

There is ALWAYS something New, Weird, Different, Limited or Special Edition out there in the wonderful world of food. These are what I came across lately. Halloween is only a month away so most of the Halloween foods are out by now.

NEW -Up above are Reese’s Peanut butter Franken Cups with green cream. I bet they still taste good!

NEW – Hershey’s Monster Kisses I love the little white tear papers that say creepy, yikes and eek. I wish they’d offer them all year long. The wrappers are great too decorated with bats and eye balls!

NEW – Hershey’s cookies ‘n’ creme Fangs. This looks more like a brick in the mouth than a fang in the picture….just saying

NEW – Hershey’s Vampire Kisses. They sound good with strawberry filling. If they are good they should offer these too all year long. I think it would be cute.

NEW – KitKat Witch’s Brew…..Not sure what these are. I don’t see any description on the package……??????? Could it be grasshopper flavored?

NEW – Snack Club Chili & Lime Tajin Peach Rings …….I’m not a fan of gummy things so don’t go by me on this one.

NEW – Totino’s Takis Fuego Hot Chili Pepper and Lime Bites with a cheesy mozzarella filling…..??? I like spicy and mozzarella….they sound intriguing but I don’t know if they taste good.

LIMITED EDITION – Cap’n Crunch’s Halloween Crunch with ghost that turn your teeth green…..Excuse my bad it says on box that turn MILK green….Is it my imagination but that thing in the spoon doesn’t look like a ghost to me and looks more like something x-rated to me.

NEW – Artificially flavored Kellogg’s Rice Krispie Treats in caramel chocolatey chunk….(ick…no I don’t have to try it)

NEW – General Mills Cinnamon Cheerios made with REAL cinnamon instead of artificial cinnamon!

NEW – Post Dunkin’ cereals of Mocha Latte and Caramel Macchiato…a lot of people out there love this stuff so maybe it’s good?

NEW – Limited Edition Haagen Dazs Ruby Cacao Ice Cream Bars – Oh yes I did! They are different. Sort of raspberry on the outside than ends with a milk chocolate aftertaste…..really different.

NEW – Red Truck Old Bay Seasoned Beef Jerky. Why The Fork not?

NEW – Quaker Hot & Spicy Buffalo Ranch Rice Crisps….sounds good…don’t know

DIFFERENT – Quaker Everything Rice Cakes – Sounds like it would go well with cream cheese?

DIFFERENT – Select Edition Deep River Mango Habanero Potato Chips….Sounds intriguing…..?????

DIFFERENT – Andean Gourmet Plantain & Coconut Chips in coconut, passion fruit and pineapple flavors……..???? I think it would be a treat to add to cereal or oatmeal.

NEW – Kahlua Nitro Cold Brew made with Rum and Coffee Liquor……Might be good?

NEW – Coca Cola with coffee…….Not for me but I bet many people will like it.

DIFFERENT – Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Thins…..???? I tasted the cauliflower thins from Costco and they were awful to me so I’m not going to try anything called cauliflowers thins even though I like cauliflower.

DIFFERENT – Trader Joe’s Turkeyless Plant Based Protein Patties…Are you going to gobble them down?

NEW – French’s Mustard Beer……?????………Not for me but might be good to wash down pretzels with.

SPECIAL EDITION – UTZ Halloween Mini Cheddar Cheese Balls. Don’t cry BOO hoo to me if you didn’t get any.

This next one I think is fake news….Someone sent it to me and I can’t find a thing about it anywhere….but it is funny so I included it.

MOST LIKELY IMAGINARY LIMITED EDITION – Nabisco Cheeseburger Oreo Cookies

Dug a little deeper and I did find a NEW Oreo.

NEW – Java Chip naturally and artificially flavored Oreo Cookies with coffee flavor cream and naturally and artificially flavored chips…..oh boy (;() what a treat…….

Well that was the NEW WEIIRD DIFFERENT Limited and Special Edition Foods out there for September 2020. Who Knows WTFork I’ll come across next month.

How much candy will I give out this year and what will kids take?

I’ve found that kids of today enjoy different candy than what I’ve enjoyed as a child. I also found out that taste do seem to change from year to year. Maybe 10 years back kids liked pop corn balls and that dropped off. About 5 years ago kids really like those candy necklaces and I noticed that they dropped off too. But for the past few years basic candy like Hershey Bars and Pixy Stix have been the big movers.

2014 I gave out 92 full sized candies

2015 I gave out 121 full sized candies

2016 I gave out 124 full sized candies

2017 I gave out 130 full sized candies

2018 I gave out 133 full size candies

This year I am prepared with

30 Reeses

21 Hershey

21 Hershey (almond)

18 Kit Kat

3 Seaweed

1 Sardine (just for fun)

Got some Halloween Bling for my dogs.

“GET THIS FORKING THING OFF MY HEAD!”

“I will gladly wear these ridiculous red horns for a tasty treat like fine Italian Cheese or meat!”

I saw someone as a baby shark this year and maybe the best was someone made up to be Micheal Jackson doing that Whoo Hoo thing. Lots of all kinds of princess, some villains. Some Star Wars.

Between 7:30 and 8pm I ran out of all the chocolates and had to give out what was left that was mostly just Pixy Stix.

How much candy will I give out for 2018 Halloween?

In 2014 I gave out 92 full size bars of candy.

In 2015 I gave out 121 full size bars of candy.

In 2016 I gave out 124 full size bars of candy.

Last year in 2017 I gave out 130 full size bars of candy.

My Visit to the 2018 Enchanted Pumpkin Garden in Carefree Arizona

The Enchanted Pumpkin Garden takes place in Carefree Arizona at the Carefree Desert Gardens every year at the end of October. 2018 was the fourth year for this event that took place October 19th-28 2018.  This was a free event. Pumpkin Artist Ray Villafane is the artist that is responsible for these Whimsical Creations. No need to worry about parking or fighting your way threw the crowds……Just sit back and enjoy the photos!

Some Quality Food Trucks were there!

This time of year the world turns a different flavor of mad……It’s getting close to Halloween and we must have Pumpkin, Pumpkin Spice and Special Edition Halloween Food. As crazy as it all sounds the good news is that in 2018 I haven’t come across nearly as many of these sorts of food as in previous years…….In 2015 might have been the biggest year for Bat-sh*T Crazy Pumpkin Spice because I remember I had to do a three part blog on Pumpkin Spice that year. Could it be that civilization is normalizing? By the way what I did find this year I came across much latter in the season than the usual by September. I didn’t even find most of this stuff until late September. Up above are the Halloween Edition pop-tarts in Frosted Chocolate Fudge. Booooooh

2017 Halloween Candy Count

How much candy will I use in 2017?

2014 I gave out 92 full sized candies

2015 I gave out 121 full sized candies

2016 I gave out 124 full sized candies

I have found children today don’t enjoy the candy and treats I used to enjoy. I used to give out M&M’s, Reeses’s Cups, Peppermint Patties, Snickers Bars and more healthy Cracker Jack Popcorn treats…I’ve found todays kids mostly just prefer plain Hershey Bars or Sugary Pixi Stix.

This year I’m offering

Pixy Stix (big favorite for Halloween last year kids cried when I ran out)

Hershey Bars

A few Seaweeds and one can of sardines (just for fun)

I have enough treats for 161 kids!

This year I had close to 130 Halloween Trick or Treaters. (I gave out 130 treats I know a few took two). I was surprised that I saw many more Baby Trick or Treaters than ever before. Got a lot of older kids too. I don’t recall seeing any home made outfits this year. I saw many Army Guys and many of the girls were little Princesses. Maybe the most interesting Trick or Treater was a little boy dressed as a jar of Peanut Butter or the little boy as a big sumo wrestler?

In 2017 I gave out-

66 Pixi Stixs (Giant Straws of flavored sugar)

61 Hershey Bars

3 Packs of Seaweed

 

Sadly this is the first Halloween without my Halloween Best Friend.

He used to enjoy giving out the candy with me every year but since moving to Arizona I stopped dressing him up because it’s too hot to dress up a dog here.

We have other Furbabys and they are special too but different….

“I don’t do Halloween and I FORKING HATE KIDS! I can scare everyone the Fork away! “Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!”

“Halloween ….?” “WTFork is Halloween?” “I’m only one year old and I don’t Forking know what Halloween is?” “And WTFork is this thing on my head?”  “I am small but I have a deep loud BAY that I do and I sound like a very large dog…..I just very excited and make lot of noise when people pass by.” “I hear I have potential to celebrate Halloween……maybe next year?”

“I was Forking perfect!” “Maybe I attended Halloween in Spirit!”

It’s that time of year when the world goes Forking berserk and many things go pumpkin or pumpkin spiced. Since it’s Halloween time I tossed them into the bunch as well. I never know what I’ll come across. This is what I found this year.

Here are Werther’s Original Caramels with a touch of Pumpkin Spice for your chewing pleasure.
